Republicans have looted trillions of taxpayer dollars

from Bush’s illegal war; to McConnell funneling billions to Kentucky to Trump’s shunning congressional oversight of the trillion dollar CARE package.

They’ve looted thousands of times more than the eventual costs for current civil unrest.

They’re no better than what we’re witnessing on TV now.

"The media could not be played".

Almost all the videos I am clicking show this message today. That’s never happened before.

Anybody know why?

Lori Lightfoot to Trump: "F. U."

Live now. Opening remarks on daily Covid briefing in which she urges safety at protests and resistance to Trump’s divisiveness.

“I will code what I really want to say to Donald Trump it’s two words it begins with f and ends with u. I will not remain silent while this man tries to turn this incredibly painful moment into one for his political gain.”

My friend's son is still hospitalized seven weeks now

I’m sharing this because I want others to know of the devastation it can wreak as a warning.

He’s recently tested negative for Covid though still on a vent. They tested him twice and then even tested the mucus he continues to emit a third time and all tests were negative. At this point it seems he’s suffering from the after effect of acute respiratory syndrome. (When he was first hospitalized he tested negative twice with textbook symptoms and only tested positive a third time when on the vent.)

He was briefly taken off the vent several days but couldn't breathe on his own, became extremely agitated and they re-intubated him. He got air pockets in his chest cavity from the initial intubation. They want to do a tracheotomy with him still on the vent but his mother is resisting that.

He was initially given Trump’s drug and subsequently sustained kidney damage. He was then put on dialysis while on the vent. He was given plasma which seems to have helped stop the raging infection as he had a fever for almost a month. He’s 38 and never had kidney problems. Remdesivir became available as well but with the plasma and the dialysis and Remdesivir’s possible liver damage as a side effect it was not administered--especially because he’s way past the window where it’s supposed to do the most good which is shortening the severity and duration of the illness.

The doctor told his mom one lung appears almost completely black. He’s got multiple blood clots. They do periodic video chats and he’s managed to blink or shed a tear at the sound of familiar voices.

The most important thing is that he’s still alive. Life, with God’s grace, won’t ever be the same for him. But we pray and hang on to hope every time we see a story about somebody else who also was hospitalized for a prolonged period and survived.

This thing can be monstrous.

The Covidiots are planning to converge on Chicago Memorial Day

I have seen multiple notices from right wing Facebook groups about that today.

I am so tired of this madness. If it’s true, I pray for the city and the police. 🙏🏽

There's a tornado warning in my area.

Instructions are to take cover away from windows preferably in a basement to avoid flying debri, hale and lightning.

I choose to proceed with my back yard barbecue instead.

Man coughs and spits on woman she dies two weeks later

I heard this on Thom Hartmann’s show today.

London, transit worker, 47 years old was spat on, became ill within two days and died after hospitalization.

Mujinga, 47, was working on the concourse at Victoria Station in London on March 22 when she and a colleague were assaulted by a man who claimed to have the coronavirus, according to The Guardian. The man reportedly spat and coughed in their faces before taking off.

Within days, both women fell sick with the virus.

British Transport Police have since launched an investigation to find the accused spitter, BBC News reported.

The victim’s husband, Lusamba Gode Katalay, told the outlet that his wife and her co-worker were approached by the man who demanded to know what they were doing and why they were there.

“[Mujinga] told him she was working, and the man said he had the virus and spat on her,” Katalay said.

Mujinga, who had underlying health issues, was hospitalized at Barnet Hospital on April 2, according to BBC News. She was placed on a ventilator but died three days later on April 5.

The incident has raised concerns about worker safety amid the pandemic that, as of Tuesday, has infected more than 227,000 across the United Kingdom and 4 million globally, according to Johns Hopkins University. Mujinga’s family told the UK outlet Sky News that she and her colleague begged not to be sent to work with the masses.

They wished to remain in the ticket office but were denied. Relatives said it didn’t help that Mujinga and other workers weren’t provided personal protective equipment, putting them at increased risk of contracting the virus.

“They weren’t given masks, or gloves, so they were exposed to everyone,” her husband told Sky News.
