The premium cable network has signed a deal with the hosts of the popular “Pod Save America” podcast to broadcast a series of hourlong TV specials later this year.

“Pod Save America,” a podcast hosted by Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer and Tommy Vietor, all veterans of the Obama White House, has become a sort of refuge to liberal Americans during the beginning of the Trump era.
During the 2016 campaign, the hosts produced a podcast for Bill Simmons’s website, The Ringer, called “Keepin’ It 1600,” which was supposed to end once the election was over. But given the popularity of it, the three began a new production. In keeping with how Donald J. Trump’s victory has upended much of the media world — Stephen Colbert is the most-watched host in late night, MSNBC has seen a huge ratings surge — “Pod Save America” averages around 1.5 million listeners a show. HBO made the deal with Crooked Media, the media company founded by Mr. Favreau, Mr. Lovett and Mr. Vietor.
The hosts are supposed to do shows on the campaign trail leading up to the 2018 mid-terms.
This sounds pretty exciting, for those who subscribe to HBO. OR (thanks to poster "enough", if you use a podcast app - I do. I use Stitcher, free version, and this podcast is there! For free!) Ronan Farrow has also been signed to do an investigative series.

Was a post in my community group racist?
I'm over 60, white, grew up in BubbaLand, moved away to the big city, and recently moved back to BubbaLand in the deep south. The KKK is alive and well not too far from here.
In our community group on the internet, someone posts a post about the local Groundhog Day festivities. They post "Widespread protesting over Groundhog Day!!!!" The photo shows a group of all-black protesters or some sort of rucus on a city street. The only response at that time was a white male who responded, "They're probably protesting having to work to get free stuff!"
I thought about it, then I posted a response, unemotional and matter of fact, stating that if it was untentional that the pic is of all blacks, the pic should probably be replaced with one showing protest by Americans, who are of all races and ethnicities, since Af Americans are part of our community and might insult our neighbors.
Now I'm getting responses to my post of "Oh, good Lord," and "You can't be serious!" and such. Implying that I'm reading something into it that is not there.
I think I know the unspoken racist comment and pic, when I see it, since I'm white. It's happened a few times that I've been sent something racist, the sender assuming that since I'm white, I would find it funny. Pics of all blacks is not that uncommon; that way, they don't have to SAY it outright. You can SEE the meaning. I got a couple of pics like that when Obama was elected.
But what would YOU think? You think I got it wrong? Just curious.

Joe is doing what he can to explain what's going down, and the dangers, in what the Repubs are doing with this FBI memo thing, and the harm it could cause.
Sen Blumenthal (D) was on briefly, stating he's hearing some serious concerns from Senators about what's happening w/this memo, incl. some Republicans. Blumenthal is not on the Intel Committee, so he's not speaking about that committee.
The Dem Dogs should be out today in full force...
like pit bulls, on the same page, talking about the false Nunes memo.
Rep Himes (D) is on Morning Joe. A good presentation. Repeating Schiff's account of the facts of what the House intel committee approve, that the FBI asked that it not be released because it gives a false impression and threatens our security, etc.
WHAT'S NEW: The only ones on the House Intel Commitee who were even allowed to see the underlying classified document(s) from which the Nunes memo was created, were Gowdy, Schiff, (and one other..I forget the name). So the others were asked to vote on releasing a document that they had no idea was true or not, since they couldn't see the real document(s).
