Interesting rig...

I was out at Treasure Island this evening, when this rig pulled in behind me. One of the guys was from New York, and said he was out here for a film project. They were getting ready to drive over the Oakland Bay Bridge into San Francisco, and parked there waiting for the bridge lights to come on.

He said the camera was remote controlled from inside the car.

I thought it was a pretty clever setup.

Anyone know how Prop. 64 is doing in California?

Legalization for adult (over 21) use? Back in August the LA Times had an article suggesting that the prospects for passage looked good. Just wonder if anyone has heard any updates.

Blue Angels

A couple of weeks ago I drove into San Francisco on a Thursday afternoon to take some photos at Ft. Point, which sits at the mouth of the Golden Gate. I was taking photos of the bridge when this guy came barreling in from behind me:

Turns out that Fleet Week was starting on the coming weekend and the Navy's Blue Angels were getting in some practice, an event which has mixed reactions from The City's residents because of noise issues, primarily (it is super loud when they roar in overhead). Most of the show takes place over the bay, but some of the flight paths take them over the city. Anyway, the only lens I had with me was a short telephoto (55mm max) so the only relatively close shots I got were when they flew directly overhead.
