OK, Thanks ... I had read that earlier and I am having questions about CS vs ToS

Our Community Standards

It is the responsibility of all DU members to participate on our discussion forums in a manner that promotes a positive atmosphere and encourages good discussions among a diverse community of people holding a broad range of center-to-left viewpoints. Members should refrain from posting messages on DU that are disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate. These broad community standards of behavior are maintained through the combined efforts of members posting and serving on citizen juries, using their own best judgment to decide what behavior is appropriate and what is not.

Members who cannot hold themselves to a high standard risk having their posts hidden by a jury of their peers, and being blocked out of discussion threads they disrupt. Those who exhibit a pattern of willful disregard for the Community Standards risk being in violation of our Terms of Service, and could have their posting privileges revoked.

If juries are to uphold CS and if the community is comprised of mostly MRAs and the women that support MRAs ethics/morals/standards then naturally juries will come back allowing those types of posts while hiding posts that debate the status quo.

Ergo, the same with POC and LGBTs.

I don't know why it is so hard to understand why the juries rule the way they do.

BUT, if juries are only to uphold CS and NOT ToS then it seems to be that something needs to be written into CS and then also, possibly the ToS so that Admin can have recourse if they so choose.

Am I misunderstanding or is that about the gist of it all?

Thanks.

No, I will not go quietly into that dark night. Yes, I will have the last word in my OPs

props to Dylan Thomas

Do Not Go Quietly Into That Dark Night

Do not go quietly into that dark night,
Equality should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise women at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go quietly into that dark night.

Good women, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild women who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieve it on its way,
Do not go quietly into that dark night.

Grave women, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my mother, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go quietly into that dark night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

His Friends Are More Than Fond Of Robin

Here's a lovely tribute to Robin Williams that someone put together, using my song, His Friends Are More Than Fond Of Robin. It's so well done, I thought I'd share it. xo = from Carly Simon

"I will always love you" was written to/about/for Porter Wagoner when she left his show

Dolly Parton wrote it about a professional breakup, not a personal one.
When Parton wrote it in 1973, it was as a farewell to her mentor, producer, and longtime duet partner, Porter Wagoner, with whom she never had a romantic relationship. Wagoner was reluctant to have her go solo, to say the least. "It's saying, 'Just because I'm going don't mean I won't love you. I appreciate you and I hope you do great and I appreciate everything you've done, but I'm out of here,'" Parton told CMT. "And I took it in the next morning. I said, 'Sit down, Porter. I've written this song, and I want you to hear it.'... And he was crying. He said, 'That's the prettiest song I ever heard. And you can go, providing I get to produce that record.' And he did." She even sang it on one of her last appearances on Wagoner's TV show in 1974.

This was part of a program called "Greatest Country Feuds". It features interview clips from Dolly, Porter and Patty Loveless. The most interesting thing about this is an interview clip from the mid 70s after Dolly left Porter, he gave an interview to a local TV station and talked about how Dolly lived in a fairy land and wanted to do too much. Well, we all know now that it was Porter who lived in a fairy land because she did all that and more. He also mentions how she would turn her back on her own family to get what she wanted and how untrustworthy she is. They made amends several years later. Just goes to show you what a big heart Dolly has, forgiving Porter for all he said about. Also, included is a very funny clip from Porter's 1995 Roast at the Opryland Hotel. Dolly getting in several zings on her former boss.

The Look

" ... famously so green that her legendary “Look”—chin low, eyes glancing up in a come-hither but still better-than-you stare—was born out of a need to stop her head from trembling. "

Lauren Bacall was the ideal postwar star—as sexy as any pin-up, but she was a woman’s woman at heart, a reminder in the age after Rosie the Riveter that a great woman is exactly like a great man, only better. She looked better, she sounded better, she wore better clothes, she could flirt better, sing better, walk better than every man she ever shared the screen with, including her husband, and he knew it. Even decades later, the timeless pleasure of those Bogie and Bacall duets is in watching a pair whose delight in themselves was only eclipsed by their delight in each other.

<snip>

Bacall was a working mother in a time when most women were at home, and after Bogart’s death she was maybe the most visible single working mother in America. She was a sex bomb without a backlash, an actress whose career outlived her youth, and a movie star whose life seemed as happy as it was interesting. If it took a while to realize just how unusual Bacall really was, well, it was probably because she was too tough to criticize and too cool to ever break a sweat anyway.

Lauren Bacall never needed hosannas to know she was great. But today, I’ve got a glass, a hand, a cigarette, a flag, a proto-feminist rallying cry, and a salute to raise for her anyway. Even if they never ask, all great artists deserve a little thanks.

*trigger warning* to fantasize about ravishment and to play a game

with a trusted lover is one thing =
It is a Game that has nothing to do with what is Real Rape which is a very Violent Act in which the victim has no control. Instead the victim experiences fear, pain and, horror.

When a woman fantasizes about a rape she is in total control of the fantasy which is the exact opposite of what happens in RAPE.
A game, a simulation, a hint of danger, a touch of spice, a little imagination.
The Woman in the scenario of Rape Play decides who, when, how, what is said and done.

That is NOTHING like rape.
It is just a game people (consenting adults) play.
In fact it is the Exact Opposite of Rape.

Rape is brutal and forced and the victim has no control. It is a physical assault and battery and is NOT sex no matter that genitalia as well as other body parts may be involved.

Herewith is the DoJ's legal definition of Rape =

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Attorney General Eric Holder Announces Revisions to the Uniform Crime Report’s Definition of Rape
Data Reported on Rape Will Better Reflect State Criminal Codes, Victim Experiences

Attorney General Eric Holder today announced revisions to the Uniform Crime Report’s (UCR) definition of rape, which will lead to a more comprehensive statistical reporting of rape nationwide. The new definition is more inclusive, better reflects state criminal codes and focuses on the various forms of sexual penetration understood to be rape. The new definition of rape is: “The penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.” The definition is used by the FBI to collect information from local law enforcement agencies about reported rapes.

“Rape is a devastating crime and we can’t solve it unless we know the full extent of it,” said Vice President Biden, a leader in the effort to end violence against women for over 20 years and author of the landmark Violence Against Women Act. “This long-awaited change to the definition of rape is a victory for women and men across the country whose suffering has gone unaccounted for over 80 years.”

“These long overdue updates to the definition of rape will help ensure justice for those whose lives have been devastated by sexual violence and reflect the Department of Justice’s commitment to standing with rape victims,” Attorney General Holder said. “This new, more inclusive definition will provide us with a more accurate understanding of the scope and volume of these crimes.”

“The FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Advisory Policy Board recently recommended the adoption of a revised definition of rape within the Summary Reporting System of the Uniform Crime Reporting Program,” said David Cuthbertson, FBI Assistant Director, CJIS Division. “This definitional change was recently approved by FBI Director Robert S. Mueller. This change will give law enforcement the ability to report more complete rape offense data, as the new definition reflects the vast majority of state rape statutes. As we implement this change, the FBI is confident that the number of victims of this heinous crime will be more accurately reflected in national crime statistics.” >snip

Herewith is the most current info I could find regarding Rape Play (Trigger Warning)=
This series will discuss rape play and associated topics that may be problematic for some. The intent of this series is not to upset but rather educate and empower.

Disclaimer:
Much of this is based on my opinion and my experience. There are a few areas where I have drawn from vanilla sources and I will cite those to differentiate between my opinion and more studied conclusions.

Within kink there are types of play that involve varying levels of negotiated and consensual resistance. Those types of play can be described by the umbrella term “Consensual Non-Consent”. That term is sometimes used to mean Rape Play but I challenge that rape play can be a form of consensual non-consent, but that there are other types of consensual non-consent which may not be rape play, for example interrogation scenes.

Rape play involves the bottom resisting the top’s assertion of control and sexual advances and the top taking that control. This is done within a pre-negotiated framework that enables both the top and the bottom to express their desires, limitations, and motivations. Nothing in that definition specified gender identity, sexual orientation, or physical ability because none of those attributes restrict participation in rape play. Rape play is about someone taking power and someone losing power, within a controlled and negotiated scene.>snip

in summation I conclude that =

*RAPE is to have submission FORCED*
