DeSantis says he would eliminate four federal agencies if elected president

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Wednesday that if he is elected president he would seek to close four federal agencies as part of an effort to reduce the size of government.

"We would do Education, we would do Commerce, we'd do Energy, and we would do IRS," DeSantis said in an interview with Fox News’ Martha MacCallum when he was asked whether he favored closing any agencies.

"If Congress will work with me on doing that, we'll be able to reduce the size and scope of government," he added. "If Congress won't go that far, I'm going to use those agencies to push back against woke ideology and against the leftism that we see creeping into all institutions of American life."

DeSantis’ campaign didn't immediately respond to a request for further details about his remarks.

A note about U.S. History.. The deal in makiong the "Constitution of the U.S." was that one house of

the legislature would have equal representation for all states..(The Senate) and one house would be
based on population ...(House of Representative)..It was a deal that helped to pass the new set of laws The
Constitution to run the country, as the previous set of laws (Articles of Confederation) did not work to get laws passed.

..........Two houses of legislation..a law needed to pass both houses if it were to be a "National Law"......
If the "Two House System" had not have been promoted by the backers of the "Constitution" it was likely
that the new set of laws, The Constitution of the U.S." would NOT have been passed. The old system,
The Articles of Confederation had many negatives. Most laws were not passed, representation was not fair,
and so on and so on.

........The new system , The U.S. Constitution met up with one serious problem. " THAT PROBLEM WAS THE
CIVIL WAR"...tHAT ONE CAUSED THE DEATHS OF HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE.

..........That problem happened over 160 years ago. Some other problems were solved with so such thing ever happening
again. Women got their right to vote, 18 year olds got their right to vote. Racial Issues were taken care of, many ecomomic problems were solved (social security, food stamps, tax brakes for poor and large families, unemploymemt compensation,...etc, etc, etc, etc.

Guess What? I used to teach U.S. History...and I had to teach "The Constituion" because it was mandated by the
School Board....(Chicago Public Schools)....You would not believe what I saw teaching in the Chicago Public Schools for
over 30 years..................But that is for another time, and another place...........
