President Obama Says Marijuana Should Be Treated Like Alcohol

In a just published “exit interview” with Rolling Stone Magazine, President Barack Obama opined that marijuana use should be treated as a public-health issue, not a criminal matter, and called the current patchwork of state and federal laws regarding the drug “untenable.”

“Look, I’ve been very clear about my belief that we should try to discourage substance abuse,” Obama said. “And I am not somebody who believes that legalization is a panacea. But I do believe that treating this as a public-health issue, the same way we do with cigarettes or alcohol, is the much smarter way to deal with it.”

He added, “It is untenable over the long term for the Justice Department or the DEA to be enforcing a patchwork of laws, where something that’s legal in one state could get you a 20-year prison sentence in another. So this is a debate that is now ripe, much in the same way that we ended up making progress on same-sex marriage.

Worth a 1,000 words ( and billions of $$$$$$$)

Trump tweets he is not mandated by law to divest of his businesses.....true??? No???

Here are the tweets:

I will be holding a major news conference in New York City with my children on December 15 to discuss the fact that I will be leaving my
great business in total in order to fully focus on running the country in order to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!
While I am not mandated to do this under the law, I feel it is visually important, as President, to in no way have a conflict of interest with my various businesses.
Hence, legal documents are being crafted which take me completely out of business operations. The Presidency is a far more important task!

Mike Pence to meet with former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice on Wednesday,

according to transition officials.

Headline in BreakingNews.com.

Well, hell, might as well get Cheney and rumsfeld while they at it.
Maybe a posting for John Yoo in Attorney General's office
and a return for Alberto gonzales, who did such a good job playing The Fool at Bush's court.

PERFECT response to Trump's "flag burners should go to jail"

Former NFL wide receiver and current feature film director Matthew A. Cherry just responded to President-elect Trump’s early morning tweet,
in which Trump suggested that burning the United States flag should be punishable by jail time or loss of citizenship:

Nobody should be allowed to burn the American flag – if they do, there must be consequences – perhaps loss of citizenship or year in jail!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 29, 2016

Cherry linked these issues with a tweet that has since started to go viral:

So in Trumps America if you burn a flag you should be jailed but if you burn a cross you should be in his administration. Got it.

Aaannnd there goes the Treasury post, to Goldman Sachs (eyebleach needed for pic)

Trump just appointed Goldman Sachs banker Steven Mnuchin Treasury secretary,
who served as the national finance chair on Trump's presidential campaign.

Mnuchin spent 17 years with Goldman Sachs, and his father worked at the bank for 30 years in stock trading.

Mnuchin was chief information officer at Goldman Sachs before he left the firm in 2002. He also worked briefly for George Soros.

PS: remember, we are not to circulate this pic. of Trump, who has complained about shots of his double chin.
( This one looks more like a triple, to me...)

I am watching 'You've Been Trumped"

the documentary about the building of the golf course in Scotland.

Interesting to view it now, after we have learned so much about him.

One of the issues in the doc. is how he badgered, belittled, and insulted the land owners near the course, building spite fences and mountains of sand to block their view of the water.
Some good coverage of Donald Jr, there too...looking a whole lot like that drug company guy, the one with the punchable face.

Highly recommend seeing this. It is available on Netflix.
