please

don't tell me that I'm the only one who smells the hand of Steve Bannon in this.key racks is been on the job all of barely one month and he is already ready to call failure on a venture that for all of its ups and downs, Bill Clinton, George Bush, and Barack Obama have been chipping away at 12 years? am I the only one who remembers this little gem?

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/feb/02/steve-bannon-donald-trump-war-south-china-sea-no-doubt

“We’re going to war in the South China Sea in five to 10 years,” he said in March 2016. “There’s no doubt about that. They’re taking their sandbars and making basically stationary aircraft carriers and putting missiles on those. They come here to the United States in front of our face – and you understand how important face is – and say it’s an ancient territorial sea.”

It could be that he Rex was just supposed to be the guy who gave Russia the chance to get sanctions and allowed Trump and Putin to get some of that estimate $500 billion of oil trade. However, he Rex is not going to be making a lot of oil money, even in WAR, because the Chinese taking the economy is going to make what he has worthless. People are not going to be driving SUVs to get hamburgers if our currency is shot. Keep in mind, Beijing would not need to get officially involved ever, I repeat Beijing would not have to fire a single bullet to win the war. all they would need to do is let him trash South Korea and then attack Japan. of course officially they would say that they are not supporting the North Koreans in this, but to be perfectly honest they would not have to. However, once the South Koreans and Japanese are unable to go ahead and maintain our debt, that puts China in the perfect position to use it to target our leash.

Now less some of you think I'm saying this to Beijing Bait, I will say this, the scenario described is definitely not what Beijing wants. one, they know that if this happens there will be no way in hell to ever get their money back. Two, they also know that, for all their shiny new cities and monorails, their economy depends on Americans buying their products. an American depression, as much is that might sound wonderful to some old Maoist in Beijing, the folks in Shanghai know that America is the only country willing and able to keep buying all this stuff that they have kept the peasants making. They also know that the only thing that is keeping the country from trying itself into bits is the fact that right now the economy is growing, already there are fears of what will happen when the Chinese economy, like every other economy tanks. I'll give you a hint, it's no accident that despite all their attempts to keep the peace,, many people in these "thriving cities" are getting tired of air so nasty you need to wear a mask, as well as the fact that in order to become a competitive economy, wages and benefits have to go down. The Chinese are even being undercut by African labor, Africans who were very often trained by, guess who, the Chinese. Jesus Beijing, that's just like a teenager whose parents died of lung cancer making sure to smoke two packs a day of the same brand of cigarettes that kill their parents; you imitated America and are getting burned for it!

So who really would benefit from a war between China and the United States. oh yes there are some here bringing the concern Bell that we are Russia baiting. Never mind that those who bring that they'll have seriously failed to look at Russia today and realize that no it is not be idealistically bound Soviet Union.the Russians mainly flowers on Stalin's grave, but they are not fighting the ideological war of communism anymore, they're fighting it less than the Chinese are. No they know that thanks to European bumbling they are about to inherit Western Europe, or rather what I have century Cold War failed to do, folks like Le Pen and Trump are going to throw at Putin's feet. when that is done, who is the only country that poses any sort of existential threat to the Russians, or for that matter the United States? It is not Canada, is not Japan, and know it sure isn't England. As much is Russia could flex its muscle, they know they have nothing that the Chinese cannot take, no military advantage,, even that fabled Russian winter, is going to stop with eight times their population and a lot of stolen American military technology from taking anything from them, including all that nice Russian oil. So what if the Chinese lose, let's say 300 million. Some folks in Beijing would pop champagne because that would make their job of running the country a lot easier.

Russia's only hope of containing their neighbor is to find someone stupid enough to go to war for them and willing to shock trillions if need be into the war effort despite the fact it is completely hopeless; sadly our nation is exactly what Putin ordered. So what the world is a mess, they will just go ahead and build a new Moscow in the center of the country. The idea of two potential rivals both being destroyed beyond repair will make quite a bit of champagne flow in Moscow. Sadly, for all the differences between our two nations, China and America both have an addiction to national myth. to quote Don Henley, "we been poisoned by these fairytales." yes, the Chinese fairytale is much older than ours, but that does not make it any more worthy to help destroy mankind and ours certainly is not worth it. If there is any future to be made for mankind, it will be when people old world learn to treat religion and nationalism as just the constructs of a bunch of old men trying to avoid being irrelevant.

Trump supporters protest The Man In The High Castles anti-Nazi radio station

http://www.avclub.com/article/trump-supporters-protest-man-high-castles-anti-naz-251886

Ok, the Gen x and older crowd will remember when Dan Quayle bashed Murphy brown, a character that was no more real then Spider Man. The trump crowd is so insecure that they cannot even tolerate a FICTIONAL station, because they know that they are weak. They take pride in the fact that their actual radio sounds a lot like Nazis did, and that Nazis are still an easy way to identify badguys because in addition to being awful, they failed, unlike the ones portrayed in this radio station.

Florida judge denies 'stand your ground' defense in shooting

http://www.startribune.com/florida-judge-denies-stand-your-ground-defense-in-shooting/415887174/

YES! An old man shot someone because he threw popcorn at him. Just because he is a good ole boy cop, he thinks he has a right. I truly hope this guy dies in jail.

I also hope that this judge is not targeted, no pun meant, by the Florida NRA, aka the gun owners that make Texas look like Manhattan

KING: Using 'working-class voters' as shorthand for white people is insulting and rooted in racism

http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/king-don-working-class-voters-refer-white-people-article-1.2990988

sample quote:
White people have bailed. The majority of all people of color voted for Hillary Clinton. The majority of all white people voted for Donald Trump. And while I agree with the basic philosophy of Bernie Sanders that if the Democratic Party would do better by all working-class people, it could possibly begin to win back working-class white people in the process, we must not erase the fact that tens of millions of working-class voters simply are not white. Period. If you want to say that working-class white people are abandoning the Democratic Party, say that. Otherwise, if you fail to include the racial designation you aren't just wrong, you are insulting. Saying "working class" when you truly mean "white working class" only advances the ugly stereotypes that hardworking Americans look like white lumberjacks and listen to country music. They damn sure might look like that here or there, but working-class Americans look like all of America. They are of every hue, every gender, every shape and size, every ability, every ethnicity and nationality. To reduce "working-class voters" to rural white people is a gross oversimplification of the beautiful complexity of this nation.

An insider's view: the dark rigidity of fundamentalist rural america

http://www.alternet.org/election-2016/rural-america-understanding-isnt-problem

"As the aftermath of the election of Donald Trump is being sorted out, a common theme keeps cropping up from all sides: "Democrats failed to understand white, working-class, fly-over America.”

Trump supporters are saying this. Progressive pundits are saying this. Talking heads across all forms of the media are saying this. Even some Democratic leaders are saying this. It doesn’t matter how many people say it, it is complete BS. It is an intellectual/linguistic sleight of hand meant to draw attention away from the real problem. The real problem isn’t East Coast elites who don’t understand or care about rural America. The real problem is that rural Americans don't understand the causes of their own situations and fears and they have shown no interest in finding out."

here is why Van Jones is wrong

Let's say that Trump by some bit of luck does one or two good things; sometimes people stumble into doing something. He still does not deserve praise, because , as Van should know more than anyone, it is the overall package that is being sold, and the empowerment of people with bad intent needs to be fought. If we start fawning over the man because he manages to not spend an hour makign an ass of himself, we shoot ourselves in the foot.

Considering the truly harsh standards he held Obama to, he should know better than to allow Trump a pass because he managed to avoid saying something stupid for a night, and certainly not allow Trump to use the dead widow as a shield.

It is one thing for some desperate unemployed person from Western Pennsylvania to swallow a Trump lie, and even they do not get a pass, Van Jones gets far less of one, as in NONE. If this, especially after Obama, is the low bar for becoming the "president", then frankly this is no longer a country worth the effort.

Romano: From the shadow of pill mills, a new drug crisis emerges in Tampa Bay

http://www.tampabay.com/news/publicsafety/romano-from-the-shadow-of-pill-mills-a-new-drug-crisis-emerges-in-tampa-bay/2314432

This is a sad example on how we are wasting our efforts when we try to eliminate cannabis, yet we let medical companies make a mint as they cause problems selling their opiates legally, then make money making Fentayl. You think the drug cartels are just growing Fentanyl in the fields? This came about because many, including our current governor, made money allowing Florida to become the opiate capital of the nation, where these pain clinics have plates as far away as Alaska and Kentucky, where huge amounts of pills are put into pick up trucks.

and if you want to see how bad it has gotten, here is a documentary from the late, lamented current tv.
