Source: Raw Story
A former Georgia police officer was indicted this week after cell phone video showed that he lied to justify force against a 69-year-old black man who was moving into his new home.
While responding to a suspected burglary call on May 2 with at least three other officers, then-Clayton County police officer Ryan Hall said that he attempted to arrest 69-year-old Dhoruba Bin-Wahad because he lied about a second burglar being in the home.
Although the fellow burglar turned out to be another police officer, {cop officer} Hall claimed Bin-Wahad was uncooperative and verbally argumentative.

Blue Nation Review: Lion-Killing Dentist Was Max Donor to Mitt Romney
Though I could "technically" (possibly) have put this on LBN, it just doesn't seem to fit the mold solid enough; but it is always fun to Tag' my dear ole adversary - Mitt (the pitts) Romney - with a fact that paints him all the more closer, to his true light.
Especially the tidbit about "backtracking" the campaign donation.

Sheriff Where - Bland Died Says There's No Racism In His County
Source: Huffington Post citing some LBN points from WaPo
"The average citizen goes about their life seven days a week enjoying it, everybody working together, eating in restaurants together and socializing," he {Waller County Sheriff Glenn Smith} told The Washington Post in a story published Monday. "I just dont think it exists."
In 2007, the predominantly black Hempstead City Council voted to suspend Smith, who was then Hempstead police chief, for two weeks without pay following allegations of racism against him and four other white officers.
In 2007, DeWayne Charleston, then a Waller County judge, told a black funeral home to help bury an unidentified white woman. There was an outcry over his order, and activists said officials intervened to make sure the white woman wouldn't be buried next to black people.
"This is the most racist county in the state of Texas, which is probably one of the most racist states in the country," Charleston told The Guardian.

This pic - above - is from a related story of HuffPo's titled;

"6 Things You Should Know About The County Where Sandra Bland Died"

Two items most apropos - is that black students were prosecuted for voting (hence, the protest march). Waller county (as detailed by HuffPo's piece) - is still on the DOJ's watch list/monitoring - to assure equal voting rights.
and - the former Judge (DeWayne Charleston), along with the Mayor of Brookshire (Keith Woods), were 2 of only 3 blacks in office; who claim their race was why they were being target and investigated.
Another point of contention, is Waller's history of racism... as noted by HuffPo
Hence, moi calls Bull Chit on the Sheriff's contention that No Racism exist in Waller county.

Experts: Report shows Sandra Bland may have used pot in jail
Source: Associated Press Update - Proper Link
The amount of THC, one of the active components of marijuana, in Bland's system was 18 micrograms per liter, according to the report released Monday. That's more than three times the legal limit for drivers in Colorado and Washington, states that permit the recreational use of marijuana.
Robert Johnson, chief toxicologist at the Tarrant County medical examiner's office in Fort Worth, Texas, told the AP that a THC level as high as Bland's suggests she "either had access to the drug in jail or she was a consistent user of the drug and her body had accumulated THC to the point that it was slowly releasing it over time."
But, Johnson added, "I have never seen a report in the literature or from any other source of residual THC that high three days after someone stops using the drug."
{University of Florida toxicology professor Bruce Goldberger, who reviewed the report for The Associated Press} noted that while chronic users who stop using the drug will have higher concentrations than non- chronic users, "the concentrations do not persist at this level, at least in my opinion." He defined chronic as someone who uses cannabis daily, sometimes repeatedly.

Unsung Richard Scrushy - Gov. Siegelman Case Hero: Speaks At D.C. Summit
In Washington, D.C., the annual, national, Whistle Blower Summit (for Civil & Human Rights), starts this Wednesday (July 29, 2015) and continues through Friday. Among the many, many speakers there, it includes notables such as Andrew Kreig of Justice-Integrity Project, Tanya Ward Jordan of Coalition for Change (C4C), a luncheon on Thursday with Senators Grassley and Ron Wyden (D-OR); and a man who suffered much, as all whistle-blowers types tend to do, such as the saga of Governor Siegelman case whistle blower - Mr. Richard Scrushy.

[link:http://www.c-span.org/person/?richardscrushy02|
Richard Scrushy is an unsung hero,
who paid a very heavy - billion dollar/jail time - price,
for refusing to be lie against Governor Siegelman!
[br]
As reported by Whistle Blower Summit Co-Sponsor, Andrew Kreig (Justice-Integrity.org), informs us that Richard Scrushy (pictured above by C-SPAN) will counsel on "Courtroom Setbacks".
It appears that the Republican Party turned on one of its own, to devour him, in order to destroy Alabama's most popular Democrat - Governor Siegelman. Reportedly, Richard Scrushy turned down an inducement to commit perjury, that the Alabama federal prosecutor felt it needed for the sake of insuring a successful prosecution of Governor Siegelman. This proffer of suborning perjury was brought forth from the federal Government (specifically U.S. Attorney's/ Karl Rove friendly) Leura Canary's U.S. Attorney's office.
Of significant NOTE is the fact that Leura's husband {William} was CEO of "Business Counsel of Alabama" and turned out to be Governor Siegelman's opponent {Bob Riley} "Advisor". This conflict of interest thingy makes the whole case stink to high heaven.
Even more morose and alarming is the fact that Republican attorney, Dana Jill Simpson (NY Times details - HERE), blew the whistle on the unlawful acts of Karl Rove and Leura Canary {who was unlawfully staying in control over Governor Siegelman's prosecution - even though she had publicly declared herself "recused" from the Governor Siegelman related cases}.
Detailed by Andrew Kreig (here), at the end of the 5th paragraph, more than 100 Attorney Generals and others wrote letters to the Supreme Court that the prosecution case against Governor Siegelman was erroneous.
Detailed below, in a Youtube video, is the remarks by Senator Grassley, given an award for his advocacy about whistle blowers, in 2012. At that time, Senator Grassley pointed out that whistle blowers pay a heavy price for doing the right thing.
Richard Scrushy is an unsung hero, who paid a very heavy price, for refusing to be on bend of knee to corruption.

We need many more like him.

Mourners Gather for Sandra Bland’s Funeral
Source: New York Times
Mourners, some wearing all white clothing, others in ornate suits or colorful dresses, arrived by the hundreds Saturday morning at DuPage A.M.E. Church in Lisle for Ms. Blands wake and funeral. Just after 8:30 a.m., a hearse pulled up to the church. One woman, wearing a T-shirt that read #SandySpeaks a Twitter hashtag used by activists and friends of Ms. Bland in recent days became visibly emotional as the hearse arrived.
The Rev. Theresa Dear, an associate minister at DuPage,had known Ms. Bland since she started attending the church as a young girl. Ms. Dear said the official account of Ms. Blands death clashed with her memories of an ambitious, educated Christian who was excited about the future and who had helped organize the churchs recent Womens Day event.
This is someone who had over 50 selfies, healthy self-esteem, said Ms. Dear, who is also a national board member of the N.A.A.C.P. Someone who had two job offers. Someone who just talked to her family and knew that help and rescue was on the way. This is someone who knew the Lord, and was extremely close with her church family and her sisters, her biological family.

Contributing Op-Ed Writer - yesterday....
On the Death of Sandra Bland and Our Vulnerable Bodies
JULY 24, 2015
As remarked upon, by the New York Times LBN "Mourners Gather for Sandra Bland's Funeral" - the facts keep rolling in and it all don't make sense.

None of that adds up to taking ones life or suicide.
[br]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fellow DU'r 'whathehell' - attended the funeral. We had meant to publish a thread to ask if any other Du'rs were attending, so that our realm could collectively show support.
Unfortunately - 'whathehell' didn't note the date - and yours truly (ass u me'd) that it was Sunday.
63. Tell me about it. -- She lived about 50 minutes away from me.
I'm thinking about attending her funeral.
A brutal, hideous miscarriage of justice.
We need to build Democratic Underground's membership up - and one way to do that - is to be activists;

TOGETHER
It is my fault that we missed this opportunity to show unified support
Sorry!

Rolling Stone's Matt Taibbi: Sandra Bland Was Murdered
Matt Taibbi, of Rolling Stone Magazine, though being criticized in the past for jumping on a story too quickly, has just titled his most recent item - today - "Sandra Bland Was Murdered".
[br]

Is the Death of Sandra Bland is the Cops Fault?
[br]
Taibbi states the following remarks and concludes, (as does many of U.S.) that no matter how you slice it up and what the left over evidences may show (remember - they had plenty of time before national outcry - to clean things up, such as the edited dashcam recording), the fact of the matter is Sandra Bland was arrested due to officers violation of policies
and she is now DEAD!
----------------------------------As Rolling Stone's Matt Taibbi puts it;
Is the only thing required, to prove no foul play, is the fact that the death is ruled as "no struggle"?
Currently, there's suppose to be a Texas Ranger and FBI independent investigation and (hopefully) autopsy of Sandra Bland. Meanwhile, Matt Taibbi continues with these remarks;
So barring something unexpected, we know now how this is going to play out in the media.
Many news outlets are going to engage in an indirect version of the usual blame-the-victim game by emphasizing the autopsy finding of suicide, questioning Bland's mental health history, and by highlighting the reports of marijuana found in her system.
All those reflections and the pic above, can be found in greater detail at...

Sandra Bland Made a Video Warning that
Surrendering to police - can still get you killed!

As verbatim, just months before her untimely demise, Sandy Bland put up comments on her page. She stated this, in defense of "Black Lives Matter" - ( at time-stamp 2:34 of the 4 minute video) - that;
"you can stand there - surrender to the cops - and still be killed"
[br]
There are many questions we all have. Such as - if, as the police claim, she made notes of being medicated and previous attempts at suicide - why wasn't she on suicide watch?
Where is the clean - totally untouched - versions of the video dashcam and all her time in the jail?
What is the name of the judge and prosecutor who kept her in jail?
Why was the 1st story we received that she hung herself and now it turns out to be a trashbag?
Does anyone - other than the authorities in Texas - actually believe this is Sandra Bland's fault?
I'm with Taibbi - Sandy's death is the authorities fault; and Black Lives don't seem to matter there.
Just sayin.....
-------------and sayin..........
============= And Sayin........
Sandra Bland Video Foretold Surrendering to Cops can Still Lead to Death
This 4 minute video by Sandra Bland definitely sends a message and is alarming, at time-stamp 2:34, she is being an activist about Black Lives Matter and actually states the following;

"you can stand there - surrender to the cops - and still be killed"

[br]
I'm not able to embed the video - but you need to see this (here) and ponder the facts she said it - before it happened.
WOW
Does this really sound to you, like she is a person, who would kill herself?
Just doesn't make any sense.
Fruk the autopsy, the first ruled it was a hanging....

Truthdig: Black Lives Matter "Movement" Jasmine Richards Saga
Today, July 24, 2015, through July 26, is the Convention for Black Lives Matter in Cleveland. You can just imagine the panic going on in Cleveland powers that be and all the state schemes to infiltrate the ranks by the FBI, Homeland Security and such.
Don't forget the plots we now know existed, by the FBI, against Martin Luther King!
While all that is going on in Cleveland, a Black Lives Matter activist (Jasmine Richards) in Pasadena, California, is preparing to go on trial for her Lives Matter - activism acts. Truthdig's Sonali Kolhatkar has a detailed piece on the saga of Jasmine Richards that is well worth reading. It is titled
"This is a Movement, Not a Moment"
[br]

pic from Magazine "The Daily Good" about Crowd Fund Campaign for Jasmine Richards

[br]
In the Truthdig article, detailing the interview with Jasmine Richards, we learn about a girl who watched a drive by killing of her brother, who openly stated he wasn't a gang banger. On her arm, as tattoo's, Jasmine has another untimely demise document by the dates of a friend, when he was born and day of the early death.
One death that Jasmine has protested about, is Kendric McDade, who was shot as a believed armed robber; because a party lied to 911 and stated people pulled a gun on him and stole his computer. No gun, nor any stolen goods were ever found connected to Kendric McDade; but the police still arrested his friend as one of the robbers (based on what is now known to be a false 911 call).
Jasmine Richard's activism, on behalf of Kendric McDade, led to her meeting Kendric's mother (Anya Slaughter). Jasmine shares the kind of kinship with Kendric's mom that we all should be spared of having to endure. The untimely death of someone we love, due to gun violence.

Black Lives Matter Activist, Jasmine Richards, is charged with terrorism

According to the Truthdig article, the authorities have charged and are prosecuting Jasmine Richards, for the following items;
[br]
It is common for authorities to overreach with prosecutions that have the threat of putting someone in jail, for extended periods of time, in order to compel confessions to some charges and therefore avoid the risks.
There's a Crowd (cloud) Funding campaign to raise money for Jasmine's bail and such; but there seems to be a mix up. The crowd fund page states $9,000 was raised and the article of The Daily Good specifically states $90,000 was raised.
Be that as it may, there's no amount of money you can put on the price of freedom, liberty and all lives that most certainly do matter. From Sandra Bland, Eric Gardner, Tamira Rice, Trayvon Martin and Kendri McDade, all these lives matter and no greater emphasis on the white hatred in America does exists, contemporaneously, than that of the killing of the 9 by a white youth with a gun gone White Supremacy nuts.
The controversy is appropriately discussed by the Truthdig interview that states that Jasmine Richards was in jail and that;
Im used to this now. I dont expect them to value our lives. It doesnt hurt me. It used to.
[br]
That's the problem, punishing whistleblowers, activists and free thinkers is "business as usual" for our (generally) white powers that be, oppressing anyone not as rich as them; and especially anyone not as white.
This must change - and I'm going to stay close to be kept knowledgeable on Jasmine Richard's case, trial and efforts of activism. She is a youth who is our contemporary Movement to make a difference; and I'm in the hopes of seeing many more of her moments.
Here's the Truthdig video of interview with Jasmine.
