The Democratiic Party needs to re-tool this classic LBJ ad...

...to bring it up to date in the situation we find ourselves in now.

But the little girl is picking the petals off of The Peoples Rights, such as of course criminalizing a woman's right to bodily autonomy; ignoring the climate crisis; gun madness; voting rights restricted by racist gerrymandering and other means, etc.

But also including nuclear annihilation should the GQP fascists get the chance.

I remember this from the first time I saw it, back when I was a little kid:

It seems that it worked, cuz LBJ beat AuH2O.

I figure this is a good time to dedicate the following to all the far-right fake christian...

Cross-posted from the Lounge.

Sorry bout that.

I figure this is a good time to dedicate the following to all the far-right fake christian...

...holier-than-thou hypocritical fascist fucking assholes out there, especially those that may lurk here, and stumble upon this post.

Especially the cover art.

I was a founding member of the band Marshall Oboy & the Well Hungarians.

Marshall Oboy was the former "singing soundman" for David Bowie - he would stand-in for Bowie during sound checks - and now he was a gay porn star.

He had answered an ad we had out for a singer.

We had no idea he was gay until, well, our bass player used the phrase "fudge packer" in a now long forgotten drunken discussion about...nothing?

But I remember well when Marshall called out the bass player on his homophobic BS.

This was probably in the late 80s-early-90s.

Here are 2 tunes I played drums on:

(This song was inspired by me, sez the songwriter, SJ Morris, aka Stepehn Stink.)

We also played some weird gigs involving porn stars, including the infamous Ron Jeremy and some female 80s-90s porn star, I forget her name.

ON EDIT: Her name was Nina Hartley

I searched my memory banks and there she was.

There was a CD called "Porn to Rock" that had the same "Screw My Head" from Marshall's CD, I think.

Each track on "Porn to Rock" was by a different, mostly female/hetero porn star.

Also, both songs were covers of songs that had been previously recorded/released on vinyl by Stephen Jay Morris and Benedict Arnold & The Traitors, both of which I recorded/played on.

BONUS Tracks:

Kill the Hostages by Benedict Arnold & The Traitors, released 1980:

I HATE SPORTS features Sam "Sluggo" Phipps of Oingo Boingo
on the sax solo.

Recorded around 1981, released 1982.

Can't Find My Way Home (Blind Faith) - Rachael Price Live from Here with Chris Thile

Cheech Marin opens "The Cheech" Museum for Chicano Art & Culture...

...in the city of Riverside CA.

Last Friday (June 17 2022) "The Cheech" had its invitation only grand opening*, which included an auction to raise money for - "The Cheech."

As some of you may know, I am a long-time collector of Germs' art, with more individual paintings / limited editions / books / lamps / and other objects than anyone.

That said, Germs is in the permanent collection of the newly opened Cheech Museum of Chicano Art & Culture, and will be having a solo show at some time in the future.

Germs also did the label art for Cheech's Mezcal shown in the top photo, center - with a close up below.

These signed bottles by Germs and the other two artists (don't know their names), were apparently auctioned off for like $2100 for the lot of all three.

The Germs-labeled mezcal is still in production, not yet available to the unwashed masses.

When it's available, I expect it to be be difficult to find at your local liquor outlet.

I have been promised a bottle, we'll see what happens!

Last is a shot of the One-Of-A-Kind-In-The-Entire-Universe Mattel Hotwheels
Germs 1964 Chevy Impala Lowrider with Germs Graphics, which are kinda hard to see in this picture.

That is - THE ONLY ONE - that will ever be made by Mattel Hotwheels
, as it will eventually be auctioned (for The Cheech Museum) for an estimated $15,000.

*I was not invited!!
