Dennis Donovan's JournalPatrick Caddell, Self-Taught Pollster Who Helped Carter to White House, Dies at 68
Patrick Caddell, the political pollster who helped send an obscure peanut farmer named Jimmy Carter to the White House, later became disillusioned with fellow Democrats and finally veered to advise supporters of Donald J. Trump, died on Saturday in Charleston, S.C. He was 68.
His death, from complications of a stroke, was confirmed by a colleague, Prof. Kendra Stewart of the College of Charleston.
While Mr. Caddell was considered instrumental in Mr. Carters victory, he also shared the blame for limiting him to a single term. He helped persuade the president to deliver a speech that was intended to inspirit the nation during an energy crisis and economic slump, but instead tarred Mr. Carter as a weakling who was unable to lift the country out of its malaise.
Instead, in 1980 voters chose Ronald Reagan, a Republican who promised a rosier vision that he would describe during his successful re-election campaign as morning again in America.

Chaos, mass panic at San Francisco performance of "Hamilton"
Source: CBS News
There was chaos and mass panic at a San Francisco performance of "Hamilton" Friday night after an audience member suffered a medical emergency, police told CBS News. CBS Sacramento reporter Shirin Rajee was watching the show at the Orpheum Theatre when people ducked and ran out of the theater, with at least one person yelling "gun," she reported.
Police told CBS News a woman in the audience suffered a medical emergency at the same time there were fake gunshots on stage. According to a tweet from the theater, an audience member activated the fire pull station.
Members in the audience believed the two events were connected and began to "self-evacuate."
A San Francisco Fire Department security officer was working security at the door and responded when audience members began to evacuate. During the ensuing chaos, people were jumping in police patrol cars, fearing an active shooter, Rajee reported.
Three people suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the chaos, police said. The woman who suffered the medical emergency is in the hospital in critical condition.

Lee Radziwill Dies at 85 The younger sister of Jackie Kennedy Onassis passed away on Friday in New Y
Source: wwd.com
Lee Radziwill died Friday in New York. She was 85.
A slender, sloe-eyed and stylish brunette beauty, she was Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis younger sister. She was born Caroline Lee Bouvier on March 3, 1933 to Janet Norton Lee and stockbroker John Vernou Bouvier III, known as Black Jack. Another of his nicknames, as Lee pointed out, was the Black Orchid. Lee had three careers briefly, as an actress, promoted by her friend Truman Capote but reviled by the critics; later, and more successfully, a short stint as an interior designer, and then as a brand ambassador, public relations executive and special events coordinator for Giorgio Armani.
In the past, she suffered from age-related disease, while, according to sources close to her, over the past week, she was in good shape and still extremely present and elegant.
Radziwill was considered a true fashion icon thanks to an elegance and sophistication that she demonstrated not only with her personal style, but also through her work as an interior decorator. She also stood out in the international jet set with her sense of humour and her kindness.

Bruno Ganz, who played Hitler in Downfall, dies aged 77
Bruno Ganz, who played Hitler in the 2004 film Downfall, has died aged 77.
The Swiss actor died at home in Zurich on Friday night, his management said.
Ganz was well-known in German-language cinema and theatre and also had roles in English-language films including The Reader and The Manchurian Candidate.
His most famous role, however, was as Adolf Hitler in Downfall. One particular scene depicting Hitler in apoplectic fury became a meme and spawned thousands of parodies online.
<snip>
At the time of his death, Ganz was the holder of the Iffland-Ring, an accolade to the German-speaking actor judged "most significant and worthy".
The ring is passed from person to person, and it is not yet clear who Ganz had intended it to transfer to on the occasion of his death.

Cross gently, Mr Ganz! And thank you for the clip that launched a thousand memes...
On edit, here is the original scene (extended) with original subtitles:
