Erosion is due to a complete lack of bargaining power

The reason wages have fallen in real terms, defined retirement plans have disappeared (for most of us), and the bulk of cost of health insurance is now paid by the employees is a complete lack of bargaining power.

Without unions there is no bargaining entity to push back. Even with unions tax policies that actually incentivize moving production overseas, modern communications technologies, and cheap energy have made it easy to fight off any gains unions might have demanded.

We are fighting a rear guard action with defeat all but inevitable.

Agreed, a $1000 bonus is chump change

One, louis c is absolutely right. A $1000 bonus is chump change.

The most important point is the tiny percentage of corporations that are boosting pay in any way.

I work for a major retailer and there has been nothing. Crickets.

This from a company that as a matter of corporate policy floods the sale floor with straight commission sales personnel so earnings per sales person have dropped substantially in the last few years. This during a time when profits have soared.

This is what is happening with most companies. If anything a bonus—which is purely temporary. Or nothing at all.

Simple nonsense

Love me some right wing pundits.

They just spew their bs because it is their show and they can say anything they want.

Most of the people listening want to believe this kind of crap and won’t ever question it.

Thats just wrong!

You got your point across well

These folks sound like the English merchant class during the Industrial Revolution who owning all the means of production paid so poorly that even the employed were starving and homeless.

Most Medicaid recipients work and those that don't are generally disabled or caring for someone disabled.

To talk of skin in the game is simply stupid and cruel.

He is a terrible witness for himself

I read a transcript of one of his depositions that somehow became public during the campaign and he is an atrocious witness.

He contradicts himself and rambles and provides information that hasn’t even been asked for. I would venture to guess that his language skills have been deteriorated markedly since that deposition and now he could probably be counted on to show irritation, confusion, and assert power he doesn’t actually possess since he had a childlike view of what a President is and the power of the office.

It could be an incredible cluster.

Prosecutorial misconduct

While I hate the result it is even more infuriating that this result happened because of blatant, repetitive prosecutorial misconduct.

The saddest thing about this result is that this is going to embolden this particular wing of the right wing zealotry. These folks aren’t crazy enough as it is without help like this. One has to wonder if there was some sort of desire to have the case fail on the part of prosecution.

I tweeted @realdonaldtrump

I tweeted @realdonaldtrump earlier today that he has begun to sound like Wile E. Coyote. I told him the Mueller is the Roadrunner.

Apparently I should have said Bugs Bunny.

Take a look at this mornings tweets

He basically did say he’s not crazy. Think he called himself a “very stable genius”.

This has been reminding me of something and I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.

Than it came to me. He’s sounding like Wile E. Coyote from the Roadrunner cartoons.

Mueller is the Roadrunner.

A flag blanket? Trademark hair? $19.95?

Seriously, you have to be fucking kidding me.

Satire is on life support.
