Destroying satire

This is incredible. Who knew that Trump is a Dadaist.

Our reality is now theater of the absurd.

He occupies the role of politician. But he refuses to play the role.

How incredibly absurd.

I find myself asking, “Who does this?” But the answer is always “Trump”.

I have a friend who grew up in the fundamentalist world.

She once said this to me:

"If you get involved with the fundamentalist world you're going to get fucked. Most likely by your youth pastor."

I've been an anti-fundamentalist for a long time. Yet I've lived in many places where I've been surrounded by the religious crazies. They terrify me while simultaneously enraging me.

So, me speaking out against them is unsurprising and maybe not fully believable. I'm prejudiced. I really hate them.

But this woman grew up in the center of this insane religious movement. To me, that one comment fully encapsulates the essence of the moral and spiritual deformation of the fundamentalists.

What they believe can never stand any sort of examination. There is no sense to it. The only way to perpetuate the madness is through force and blatant manipulation. It's all a con.

The ones that really pay the price are the women because it is--at its core--a grotesque patriarchy.

Really? Who cares?

Right now this like a weather report from two years out.

I'm not sure it is entirely meaningless. But I'm thinking it might be.

There are certain core issues that the country is facing right now. But whether Trump or DeSantis ends up being the Republican nominee for the 2024 Presidential election isn't one of them.

Our country has a serious systemic infection and these two are just symptoms of that infection.

Great points. I also absolutely agree with you. Things changed after the first broadcast. This was expertly stage managed and very effective in convincing the majority that Trump must be prosecuted if the rule of law is to survive.
