Brainstormy
Brainstormy's JournalClinton's age an advantage
It struck me last night that the age has changed Bill Clinton a good deal, but it's empowering him in ways you rarely see in prominent politician past their days of spotlight in the center stage. He's always been smart, but now he seems wise, and the authoritative tone, which he's entitled to as elder statesman, comes across as more fatherly than lecturing. I was in awe of the mind sharp enough, and patient enough, to deliver that marathon, fact-dense speech, but more of the extemporaneous rifts, and the connection to the audience. I loved the crotchetdy humor and the finger-wagging thing. He looked great, too. A national treasure.
