Hillary Clinton - why I'm not supportive

I was an ardent supporter of Hillary Clinton during the Primary, but she lost to an until then, little known Junior Senator named Barack Obama. He won by professing a message of hope, dreams fulfilled and inclusiveness.

He took office. His pledge of health care reform was a boon to insurance companies, he prosecuted exactly no one in the Wall Street meltdown, and continued torture as usual, albeit under a different board of ethics to classify torture, and who was the actual administers of torture.

We voted for him again, because Mitt Romney looks like the love child of Chucky and Gordon Gekko, with the Aliens mother being both of their aunts.

Now we have Hillary again being pushed to run. She shouldn't run. Her ideology and Bill's has been perfectly executed. She needs to relax and enjoy what has been wrought.

Leftovers are better than the original

Am I the only one that thinks this?

November 28, 2014

It must be brought up - leftovers

I know this would fly better in Cooking and Baking, but I have a social justice slant to this.

You will know tomorrow if you have too much turkey. Take portions of it, diced up, fill a plate heaped with stuffing and potatoes in allotments for one person, then put all of it in a quart sized freezer bag. No waste, just tons of turkey dinners you can eat and share.

New York Daily News hacked?

If you go to the page it says "hacked by Syrian Electronic Army" and shows some ISIS type emblem.

Thanksgiving is tomorrow - who and what is your favorite company and dish?

I am spending it with family and friends, even though some of them drive me up the wall.

I know there is a lot of hostility directly related to the decision by the Grand Jury to not indict Wilson.

We are DU, though, and we come together as friends.

I love all of you, and wish the best during the holiday.

Do people have episodes in their lives

where things change, and they revert to OCD or autistic behavior?

I feel like a parrot that is pulling it's feathers out. I've been fine for several years, but here I am again.

How Dems can win

You aren't going to win the party with LESS progressive Democrats.

Progressive isn't a dirty word. "Moderate Democrat" that substitutes for "Republican"? That's a dirty word.

Head back to the Republican party if the REAL Democratic party doesn't suit you - I speak to everyone. We need populism, we need forceful advocation for Social Security, and we need push back to raise corporate taxes.

Liberal, progressive, tax and all of those are not dirty words. Populism is a word to victory.

Embrace it.

I noticed you deleted your post, but I got it from Google cache.

These are your exact words:

"Ok, i am going to say this and hope it is taken as an observation and not a position.
There was a sizable backlash tonight against the President and his policies on gay rights. Under the radar in many states that we should have won ...like Iowa where idiot Ernst won...and many other places the backlash by religious right paid off for the GOP. Take Maine....

The openness and brazenness of the LBGT agenda and the media flaunting of gay marriages all across the country cost Dems dearly and threatens to do so in the future. It's not that there are many more LBGT folks around now...it's just that they have come out of the closets and the religious right does not like to face up to their existence..even among themselves. This issue alone cause many religious blacks and Latinos to stay home or to not vote for Dems. The same is true for the civil rights issue. The GOP knows there are many black voters out here...they just don't want to have to accept them or see them.

There have always been Log Cabin GOP but they were rarely publicized and thus they were embraced by the GOP under the radar. And there always have been many LBGT in the closets of power but they did not cause the GOP to become uncomfortable because they were in the closet.

How can I say these things...I attend church, I have many LBGT in my family. I hear the conversations, I see the voting patterns. It is even a bigger issue than abortion believe it or not. And the sad truth is that after having gained new rights under this President many in the LBGT community went out and voted for the GOP candidate last night.

No offense meant but I know this for a fact among my many LBGT friends."

I suspect you don't have many if any LGBT friends, because NONE of my gay friends, nor myself voted Republican.
