If Perry Is Not The Stupidest Citizen in Texas, Then God Help the Rest of Them

Rick Perry is struggling to show that he has a winning record going into the 2016 record. He’s trying everything he can to spin his failures as successes.

It’s just plain stupid.

Watch.

Hundreds Still in Hospital After Fire at Taiwan Music Party

Source: AP

More than 400 people, many of them seriously burned, remained in hospitals Sunday after a fire spread into a crowd of spectators at a music party at a Taiwan water park, authorities said.

The fire late Saturday was sparked by an accidental explosion of a colored theatrical powder thrown from the stage in front of about 1,000 people, the local fire agency and media said. The powder for the one-time event called "Color Play Asia" ignited along the ground, mainly burning people's lower bodies, said Wang Wei-sheng, a liaison with the New Taipei City fire department command center.

The exact cause of the fire was still being investigated, but Taiwan Premier Mao Chih-kuo banned public activities that use the colored powder.

A total of 519 people were injured by the fire at the Formosa Water Park in New Taipei City, according to a statement from the city government's health bureau. It said that 419 remained hospitalized on Sunday afternoon, about half of whom were seriously injured, including 184 in intensive care. Apart from Taiwanese, the victims were four people from Hong Kong, two from the Chinese mainland and one each from Macau, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore. The nationalities of three other foreigners were not given.

Japan Mourns Passing of Tama, the Cat Stationmaster

Tama

Tama the stationmaster, Japan's feline star of a struggling local railway, was mourned by company officials and fans and elevated into a goddess at a funeral Sunday.

The calico cat was appointed stationmaster at the Kishi station in western Japan in 2007. In her custom-made stationmaster's cap and a jacket, Tama quietly sat at the ticket gate welcoming and seeing off passengers. The cat quickly attracted tourists and became world-famous, contributing to the railway company and local economy.

Tama died of a heart failure on June 22. During Sunday's Shinto-style funeral at the station where she served, Tama became a goddess. The Shinto religion has a variety of gods, including animals.

Wakayama Electric Railway President Mitsunobu Kojima thanked the cat for her achievement, and said Tama will be enshrined at a nearby cat shrine next month.

FAA probing Patriots, Giants and Cowboys for using drones illegally

During rookie minicamp in May, the Cowboys used drones to get a different angle of their practice. Jason Garrett raved about their use.

“The drone angle is interesting because it gives you a chance from behind to see all 11 guys on offense and all 11 guys on defense, but from a lower angle,” Garrett said. “Often times, you have to kind of pull yourself way away to get the all-22 shot. This allows you to be a little closer, so you can coach better. You see hand placement, you see where they have their feet and where they have their eyes. I think that’s important. You can look at the players and coach them better when you’re that much closer to the action.”

What he didn't know was that the Cowboys were violating the law.

According to Bloomberg, the Federal Aviation Administration is probing the Cowboys, the Giants and the Patriots for using drones without getting the correct FAA waiver.

Bryan Fischer Flips Out Over SCOTUS Ruling: ‘From a Moral Standpoint, 6/26 is Now Our 9/11'

With the SCOTUS ruling in favor of same-sex marriage predictably comes warnings of hellfire and brimstone and a god-almighty judgement day awaiting the United States.

However, homophobic serial offender Bryan Fischer took the ire a step further than usual by comparing the ruling with 9/11.

The rainbow jihadists of SCOTUS blow up twin towers of truth and righteousness \
1:49 PM - 26 Jun 2015

-snip-

Right Wing Watch reports Fischer then compared the ruling with slavery, the attack on Pearl Harbor, and Sodom and Gomorrah.

On his radio show yesterday, Fischer had this to say:

“From a moral standpoint, 6/26 is the new 9/11 because it was on this day that five justices of the United States Supreme Court became moral jihadists. They became rainbow jihadists and they blasted the twin pillars of truth and righteousness into rubble. And they did this by imposing sodomy-based marriage on the United States through an act of judicial tyranny.

“We the people have ceased to be our own rulers. We are now serfs on a plantation that’s being run by cultural elites who wear black robes and use the gavels like the slaveholders of old used to use their whips, to beat us, as social conservatives, into abject submission.

“Today, June 26, 2015, is a date which will live in infamy. On this day, the United States became Sodom and Gomorrah.”

UK youths win for color-changing condom idea to recognize STIs

Here is an idea: condoms that change color when they come in contact with STIs. That is the idea from three students in the UK attending the Isaac Newton Academy in Ilford. They developed their idea into a contest entry and they won in the "Healthcare Category" in theTeen Tech Awards. Their concept is called "S.T.EYE."

Daily Mail
and other sites this week reported that the material turns green if in the presence of chlamydia. Yellow indicates herpes. Purple indicates HPV (human papillomavirus) and blue, syphilis.

The three inventors are 13-to-14 year olds. Daanyaal Ali, Chirag Shah, and Muaz Nawaz hoped their invention can help the future of the next generation. Their prize includes cash and a trip to Buckingham Palace.

In a report from BBC Newsbeat, Daanyaal said that "Once the {bodily} fluids come into contact with the latex, if the person does have some sort of STI, it will cause a reaction through antibodies and antigens hanging on to each other, which triggers an antibody reaction causing a color change."
