Looks can be deceiving.
There is something innately satisfying about confirming suspicions. We see something, we draw conclusions, and then hopefully confirm them. That beautifully crafted dish is just as delicious as it looks. That frosted glass of beer is as refreshing as we had imagined. That latest reality TV show is just as terrible and contrived as the dozen that came before it.
But when our preconceived notions are contradicted, were forced to rethink what we thought was a given. It can be uncomfortable to go through this processto admit we were wrong and then restructure how we view a situation. This growth, however, is necessary. It grounds opinions in reality. It helps us to move forward.
Perceptions about homelessness are no exception.
Jeff Bleich, American diplomat, put it this way: We tend to assume that homeless people are alike in some way, and that they must suffer from mental illness or drug addiction or some other common challenge. But the only thing thats similar about homeless people is that they lack housing. Like all people, homeless people are much more than just one thing, with their own lives and circumstances.

Koalas 'Functionally Extinct' After Australia Bushfires Destroy 80% Of Their Habitat

As Australia experiences record-breaking drought and bushfires, koala populations have dwindled along with their habitat, leaving them functionally extinct.
The chairman of the Australian Koala Foundation, Deborah Tabart, estimates that over 1,000 koalas have been killed from the fires and that 80 percent of their habitat has been destroyed.
Recent bushfires, along with prolonged drought and deforestation has led to koalas becoming functionally extinct according to experts.
Functional extinction is when a population becomes so limited that they no longer play a significant role in their ecosystem and the population becomes no longer viable. While some individuals could produce, the limited number of koalas makes the long-term viability of the species unlikely and highly susceptible to disease.

TRUMP SAID U.S. IS 'GETTING RAPED' BY NATO, HAS PUSHED TO EXIT ALLIANCE ACCORDING TO WHITE HOUSE INSIDER
BY DAVID BRENNAN ON 11/22/19 AT 4:29 AM EST
President Donald Trump's criticisms of NATO have been one of the most concerning elements of his presidency to date for career diplomats and Pentagon officials.
A new book written by an anonymous White House insider published this week has shed further light on the president's aversion to the Cold War-era alliance, alleging Trump claimed the U.S. is "getting raped" by its allies and pushed to ditch the accord.
A Warning, by Anonymous, was published earlier this week. It is written by the same unnamed White House official who authored an op-ed for The New York Times last year, claiming to be part of "the resistance" against Trump within his own administration, working to frustrate much of the president's policy agenda.
A portion of the book is dedicated to Trump's belligerent stance on NATO. Since coming into office, the president has repeatedly maligned the alliance and its members, accusing members of not spending enough on joint defense and suggesting the transatlantic bloc is no longer fit for purpose.

Randy Rain impeachment parady.
Just feeling really down. Seems like the perfect song right now.
Late night rabblings.....
Got so much going through my mind. So much to do and think about.
Fighting with Disability. They keep saying I can do like customer service work. Be nice, just a couple of snags. My vision still stinks (seeing an eye specialist early next month) and I can't use my right hand to type.
Talked to others that has filed before. Seems they turn people down a few times before they approve. They said to just keep filing. They will finally listen to the doctors eventually. They also talk about back pay, but not sure what they mean.
Thanks to a kind person out there, I can get a new birth certificate (just waiting now, government takes a while). So I have taken myself off the wait lists for assistance with getting one. There are a lot of people trying to get theirs.
Big thing is there are a few programs out there that specializes in helping disabled in my situation. But need a birth certificate for their records. So fingers crossed I'll get it before they fill up.
Need to get to a clothing bank to get some jeans. I'm down to 195 pounds so my old ones don't fit. Think the weight loss is due to eatting less. My condition seems to make me want to eat less, so my stomach can't handle how I used to eat. I eat 5 small meals at the most. And and my constant drinking of water, can't get enough of the stuff. Problem is that I don't know what my size is now.
It's quiet tonight. Odd for a Friday night / Saturday morning. Better quiet than noisy I guess.
Think I'll go visit Trooper tommorow.
Think weekends are the worse. That and the waiting for the red tape to breakdown.
You don't really know how much you miss working till really can't do it. Makes me feel helpless, not a feeling I'm use to.
I'm also getting real sick of my memory lately. Things I used to remember just like that, taking me forever to remember. Have to write everything down to help me remember stuff like doctors appointments, to remember to take meds and that I took them. It sucks.
Well, guess I've rambled on long enough. For those that had the patience and/or time to spare to read this, thank you for putting up with my wondering mind.

Sad because it's true.
Even sadder is there are fellow citizens out there that thinks he's doing s great job. Sadder still, they are willing to overlook the crimes he has committed.

This morning a Florida dog put a car in reverse and drove it in a circle for an hour. That dog would make a better president than Donald Trump.

Police knew a war veteran was a U.S. citizen. ICE detained him anyway.
By Alex Horton
November 14, 2019 at 4:25 PM EST
Five years after his combat service in Afghanistan, Jilmar Ramos-Gomez sat in an immigrant detention center in Michigan, contemplating how a U.S. citizen and war veteran could get sucked into a Kafkaesque deportation void.
It started with an off-duty police captain watching the evening news featuring Ramos-Gomezs arrest, speculating if the veteran, Michigan born and bred, was in the country illegally.
Those suspicions triggered a decision by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to detain him for three days, despite immediate evidence that proved Ramos-Gomez was a citizen, including police reviewing his passport the day of his arrest.
