Like President Clinton, Obama will strike without UN or Congressional approval IMHO

I believe President Obama has already made up his mind. He would like to have UN or congressional backing but, as Clinton did in the Balkans, he will do it regardless. Clinton was, and Obama seems to be, convinced that US force was/is the only way to stop an intentional killing of civilians. In the case of the Balkans I supported president Clinton's efforts and I will give President Obama the benefit of the doubt on Syria. I hope he is right. Regardless, mark my words, Obama will hit Assad (and in a very hard and sustained manner) within 90 days.

Anonymous hacks Syrian Electronic Army: Operation Syria engaged

September 2, 2013

Anonymous hacks the pro-Assad hacker group known as the Syrian Electronic Army, compromising servers and obtaining members’ names along with user IDs and passwords, as part of Operation Syria (#OpSyria).

According to a report issued Sept. 2 by The Register, an “entity or person associated with Anonymous” confirmed the successful attack against the Syrian Electronic Army (SEA). The report claims Anonymous “d0xed – that is, de-anonymised – ‘five core members’ of the SEA.”

The SEA emerged during the rise of anti-regime protests in Syria in the spring of 2011, and has been hacking social media accounts associated with major news organizations and human rights organizations ever since.

Anonymous issued a press release announcing Operation Syria (#OpSyria) earlier this week. The following is an excerpt from that announcement:

Silence is a war crime.

More than 100,000 people have been killed in the conflict in Syria.

For far too long, we have witnessed the barbaric, unjust and brutal treatment of the Syrian people.

Dictator Assad and elements within the Syrian Opposition, you now have the undivided attention of Anonymous.

To the people of Syria, know that Anonymous stands with you in this war against terror.

We vow to do everything we can to hinder war crimes played against you. We will raise awareness in every manner we can. We will assist you in putting an end to this carnage.

We are Anonymous.

We are Legion.

We do not Forgive.

We do not Forget.

Dictator Assad, oppressors of the Syrian people, Expect US!

the horror

I don't want to be duped or misled into a war but those pictures and that video, they look like the kids I teach every day. my God how do people do this to one another (whatever the truth is)? Those children wearing the same cloths my students wear, probably playing, thinking, fearing, laughing about the same childlike things. Sometimes they cry when I mildly scold them for goofing around during bathroom breaks while others are waiting. And there they are, their little bodies laid out because of someone's political agenda.

Putin: Chemical Attack ‘Utter Nonsense,’ Obama Should Present His Evidence

Russian President Vladimir Putin told journalists Saturday it would be "utter nonsense" for Syrian president Bashar al-Assad to use a chemical weapons against the Syrian rebels, and that if President Obama had evidence of the attack, he should present it to the U.N., Reuters reported.

"I am convinced that it (the chemical attack) is nothing more than a provocation by those who want to drag other countries into the Syrian conflict, and who want to win the support of powerful members of the international arena, especially the United States," Putin said.
