Last Call Volunteer for Georgia Victory 2014

Georgia Victory is the name of the Coordinated campaign, we are on our Final Push to get people out to vote, whether you can donate half an hour or 40 hours we can accommodate you.

If you can donate half an hour I can give you the information to sign onto hubdialer, which you can use from home, to use hubdialer you need a computer/tablet and phone, and ofc plenty of power for both. Hubdialer automatically sorts through all of the disconnected calls and most of the Not Homes using an algorithm that targets people who we can speak to when they are available, basically when you use hubdialer you spend a lot more time talking to Democrat Voters who would not go to the Polls without you talking to them, the lists do target democrats from around the state, hubdialer gives you the script you can use to talk to people but its you who is talking and that is 10 times more effective than the Robocalls Nathan Deal is using. Hubdialer is the most efficient Phonebanking Method we have, and again you do not need to leave your home to use it.

If you can donate a 2 or 3 Hours you can go to one of the Campaign Field Offices, and sign up to Phone Bank there, They have in addition to Hubdialer Paper lists that you can call, Paper Lists will allow you to call people in your area, you might find Democrats in your own neighborhood who you never knew were democrats, and can give you greater ways to bond. Hubdialer can sometimes break down, it isn't often but it happens, that is where a Paper list can really shine, and additionally when you call the Paper list you help find the Disconnected numbers that we dont need to call again, you find Republicans who vote in democratic primaries who we don't need to call again (You are not required to register with a Party in the state of Georgia, we have an open primary system, you declare which party's primary Ballot you want and you will get it regardless of your party, which primary ballot you ask for is tracked but not who you vote for, that means if you like voting in Republican Primaries then you will likely be labeled as a Republican by the System and will kick you off of our Lists because we don't feel the need to remind Republicans there is an election coming up).

IF you can Donate 4 or more hours, and you have a Car, are Ambulatory, don't mind talking to People Face to Face, then i Suggest you walk into a field office and tell them you want to Canvass, they will set you up with a Partner to Canvass with you, you will never be far from your Partner, you may be across the Hall in an apartment building, across the Street in a Neighborhood or in some cases one Person may drive the other to specific doors where there are Democrats (When Canvassing we are Targeting Specifically Lazy Democrats who don't vote in Midterms so we arn't knocking every door in a neighborhood, and it isn't random), sometimes you have one house that you have to knock that is 5 doors down from the last, that makes it faster to have one person sitting in the Car driving the other to the doors, it works its effective, i have done it myself. Canvassing is the Best method of Communicating with Voters i think if i remember the numbers correctly when you talk to a person face to face they are 40% more likely to go out and vote, that can make a real difference in this election. While Canvassing it is much easier to seem what concerns a Voter is most likely to have, and target them with a speech to suit their needs, if you see little kids running around talk to them about education, if you see a young adult of College age talk to them about the Hope Scholarship. If you see a Single Person without kids hit Economics, talk to them about Ethics. Sometimes you can see someone who cannot get around easily, we send out Absentee Ballot request Forms with every Canvass you can get them to fill out the form on the spot and send it to the Proper Authorities. or you can list their name as needing a drive to the polls.

the Carter Campaign has listed all of the Field Offices their location and Phone Numbers to contact Here:
https://carterforgovernor.com/georgia-victory-2014/

if you don't live in any of the counties listed with a field office, talk to a regional field director they may have some people in your area who are organizing to GOTV. You can also Contact your Local County Party
http://www.georgiademocrat.org/our-party/county-committees/
They may be working on their own effort to Get Out The Vote.

If none of this works for you Send Me a PM tell me the city and county you live in, your Full First and Last Name as is listed on your Voter Registration Form. I can enter you into our system as a volunteer directly, and give you information to use Hubdialer, or Point you to an event in your area. When you walk into an office talk to the field organize they can put you to work immediately i guarantee it. We Canvass from Opening until sundown we call people from 9 AM to 9 PM.

General Election Day is November 4th Early Voting ends TOMORROW! This weekend is our Final Push, if you wait you will be too late i urge you to go vote now if you haven't already, there are lines at every early voting location in the Metro Atlanta Area. If you Put off signing up to volunteer until tomorrow you will be too late! DO IT NOW! Go out there and Knock on doors and on November 4th when we win you will know that you were part of the reason we won, and that will be a high that will last.

If you live in the Gwinnett Area I am bringing my Italian Great Grandmother's Lasagna to the Gwinnett Field Office in Lawrenceville, it is delicious you don't want to miss it.

Finally i want to end this Post by Calling on everyone who reads this Thread to not Just K&R me but to give us your Story of Volunteering, tell us what you are doing to get our wonderful candidates elected, or tell us what you hope and plan to do to get our candidates elected, remember though that time is Short on November 5th it will be too late. If you are Donating Money that is Great! If you have an Interesting Story about how you got involved we want to hear it, if you have a funny canvassing story let us know. Tell us why you are Supporting Jason and Michelle, sure being Democrats gets them in the door, but what part of their platform do you like best, if you don't know, get a good read.

For those Democrats who would write Georgia off this election.

I'm disappointed at some of these comments, this state is a battleground already in 2014. We have Jason Carter and Michelle Nunn running at the top of the ticket, that is what makes us different from Kentucky and Texas, those states only have one strongman at the top of the ticket and both Grimes and Davis are polling not only below their republican counterparts but below their Georgia Counterparts, there is no closer race for Governor and Senate in this country than Georgia.

Jason and Michelle have joined forces something most other races don't do, by sharing assets in a coordinated campaign we can hit the Maximum number of Doors, call the maximum number of people and persuade them to vote for both of our candidates. We share call lists, canvass packets and volunteers, all in a coordinated effort to win this for the democrats, Jason and Michelle are working together building off of each other to give democrats a better chance of winning this state now than in 2012.

If you don't think we can win this state then you haven't met our candidates, you haven't been to one of our field offices, you have not seen the courage that we show in the face of adversity because we know that Georgia deserves better, that Georgia can do better, and all we need to do is vote for Michelle Nunn and Jason Carter.

Help us, find your local Democratic Party or one of the several field offices and volunteer for a canvass or phone bank, visit Jason Carter on his Bus tour of Georgia, I've seen that bus it looks better than the Obama bus. Alternatively you can Donate money to the campaign help them with the last ad push. every person you Canvass is about 25% more likely to go out and vote, vote blue, every time you canvass a person who is a Strong Democrat and wants to volunteer with the campaign, you can take credit for him as he goes out canvassing, or Phone Banking. I Know because i have Canvassed for Jason and Michelle, i have Phone Banked for them, i have met them they are wonderful. I love it when Jason talks to us volunteers and tells us that he appreciates what we are doing, that he cares for us the volunteers who are out there every day, pounding pavement with clipboard in hand or dialing number after disconnected number trying to speak to Democrats about why they should vote.

as much as i need the resume builder that isn't why i volunteered for Jason, I volunteered because i saw what Nathan Deal's budget cuts did to Georgia's Schools. It cost my mother her job as a teacher of Advanced Placement Psychology at Peachtree Ridge High School in Gwinnett, a teacher well loved by the students with consistently good scores on the AP exams, she built up the Social Studies AP electives program. I volunteered because I saw Nathan Deal's moral construct and was disgusted, I saw Jason and know that his code of honor can just about match mine and my code of honor is Strict with a capital S. I see in Jason a bit of the me that holds that altruistic desire to make the world a better place. Well we will make Georgia better but i think the world will benefit when we do, and we become a world Leader in subject areas that doe not include teen pregnancy or unemployment.

If you have not early voted already your early voting deadline is Oct 31 this Friday you can find your early voting location here: http://sos.ga.gov/elections/CountyContacts/AdvanceVotingDisplay.aspx

Liberty what Liberty

http://www.atlantaprogressivenews.com/interspire/news/2012/03/01/sb-469-would-make-civil-disobedience-a-felony-in-georgia.html

(APN) ATLANTA -- SB 469, an anti-union and anti-protest bill, would turn nonviolent civil disobedience into a felony punishable by imprisonment for one year and a fine of ten thousand dollars for organizations and one thousand dollars for individuals. It also has provisions intended to weaken unions.

The bill was introduced by State Reps. Don Balfour (R-Snellville), Bill Hamrick (R-Carrollton), Bill Cowsert (R-Athens), and Ross Tolleson (R-Perry). All four Senators are members of an organization called the American Legislative Exchange Counsel (ALEC). ALEC bring corporations and lawmakers together to draft template legislation that is introduced in other states to change policy. ALEC claims to be nonpartisan but is funded by several right-wing thing tanks.

"In a state which lays credible claim to being the cradle of the Civil Rights Movement, State Senators Don Balfour, Ross Tolleson, Bill Hamrick, and Bill Cowsert have just demonstrated palpable disrespect for Georgia’s rich history of protest and activism. They are the sponsors of Senate Bill 469 which, had it been law in 1960, would have made Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Rev. Dr. Joseph Lowery, John Lewis, Joe Beasley, Minnie Ruffin, and many other luminaries of the Civil Rights Movement into felons," Sara Amis of Occupy Atlanta, wrote in a blog post.

"The way they are handling these extreme bills like SB 469 prohibiting protest which they know is unconstitutional, but they want to send a message and try to throw everyone off track,” Larry Pellegrini of the Georgia Rural Urban Summit, told Atlanta Progressive News.

Join the protest rally! All Georgia citizens should attend!

both benefit and curse to not having leaders.

i like relating OWS to Civil Rights while their causes are different their methods are very similar, and the Police use the same tricks as they did in Civil Rights. the curse of not having a leader is not having a figure like Martin Luther King Junior, who can convince the rowdy protesters to be peaceful. the benefit no such leadership can be locked up.

while you can weigh the Pros and Cons of this one we have an interesting situation here Karl Marx has a Second Chance. Marx promised a revolution without leaders, a dictatorship of the People not a dictatorship of an individual. Fact is the situation with OWS is a lot closer to Marx's vision than was in Russia or China before their revolutions. the issue then become can the Communist Ideal survive the poison that is the American Societal Value of exploitation.

About MACARD

I live in the State of Georgia a state known for being Conservative, apart from the African-American Communities. I hear so much Conservative rhetoric that it is sickening, and 90% of the time their arguments provide no real solutions to the problem. when i was a baby i was stricken with a Lung disease and given a year to live, what came afterwards was 5 years of complete hell, and the medical and insurance companies were only interested in making my family Pay out the nose, and making sure they didn't have to pay my medical bills, needless to say i have no love of them. I am a student in a college in Georgia known for being an Army ROTC school, I have the up most respect for our servicemen, and have no interest in shipping them off to fight wars that don't directly endanger our security. I study Political Science so I believe i have a good understanding of What is going on, doesn't mean i am done learning. Big Corporations hold too much power in this country, they have excessive power over our political system and our economy, in my opinion they can only be made people if they can be persecuted like a person with penalties up to and including the Death Penalty. My Goal is to change the world and make it a better place.
