Mandela Barnes wins Wisconsin Democratic primary for U.S. Senate, faces Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson in November

From the moment Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes entered the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate, he was the frontrunner.

"I never expected to be out in front and never expected to have just anything handed to me," Barnes said recently as he sought to build a broad coalition of Democrats.
Barnes officially won the nomination in Tuesday's primary, building up a big lead in the polls that forced his main rivals to withdraw days before the first ballots were even counted.

Barnes is the first African-American to serve as Wisconsin's lieutenant governor. If he wins in November, he would become the first Black person elected to the U.S. Senate in the state's history.........................

(CNN)Trump ally Doug Mastriano's virtual appearance Tuesday before the House January 6 committee only lasted about 15 minutes and "he didn't answer a single question," according to a source familiar with the matter.
Mastriano's attorney cut off the virtual appearance soon after it began, the source said. His lawyer, Tim Parlatore, took issue with several procedural matters related to the deposition, and raised questions about the legality of the subpoena that Mastriano received from the panel, the source added.
"We were there for 15 minutes. It was clear that the committee was unable to comply with the regulations regarding use of deposition authority and moreover has no interest in complying with the regulations," Parlatore said. "We're happy to provide the information if they can either do it fairly and legally or if we can reach a resolution on how to do a voluntary interview which minimizes the risk of election interference."
Mastriano is the GOP gubernatorial nominee in Pennsylvania, and was a central player supporting former President Donald Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Mastriano was also among the mob of Trump supporters on Capitol grounds on January 6, 2021, during the insurrection, though he didn't go into the Capitol itself and hasn't been charged with any crimes..................

I am trying not to get too excited about what they may find. But, that said, I am giddy this happened to Trump.
We don't know yet what crimes the FBI had sufficient evidence of to convince a federal judge there was probable cause to search Trump's residence, but the execution of a search warrant isn't a raid. It's a judicially overseen process. Still unknown: the subject of the search.

Lots of options here, everything from classified documents to other crimes, but whatever it is, the judge who issued the warrant would've been rigous about determining there was sufficient probable caused to support it.

In an interview with Business Insider, former Donald Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort admitted he was in contact with the Russians and sharing information during the former president's 2016 presidential run.
For years, questions have been raised about Russian involvement in the campaign that saw the New York businessman beat former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Manafort is now stating that he handed polling data over to the Russians -- in particular to "Konstantin Kilimnik, a longtime business associate with suspected ties to Russian intelligence."
According to the report, "Kilimnik then passed the data on to Russian spies, according tothe US Treasury Department, which has characterized the data as 'sensitive information on polling and campaign strategy.'"
In the interview, Manafort excused his actions stating he wasn't looking for help getting Trump elected and did it purely to make money, with Business Insider reporting, "Manafort told Insider that he directed his deputy, Rick Gates, to feed Kilimnik polling data via email to 'keep Konstantin informed.' The goal was to use his access to Trump to drum up business for himself.............................................................

I would not call them casualties----maybe they are but that sounds like sour grapes. My attitude is that there is always more to do and Dems had to make compromises to get this one passed. Raising the minimum wage for the working poor would be a great start.
