Republicans are now the party of Putin, with even some of their voters supporting the Russian dictator over President Biden. Former GOP Rep. Ken Buck spoke with Erin Burnett on 'OutFront,' and assigned a well-earned nickname to controversial Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, referring to her as 'Moscow Marjorie.'
"So Congressman, you heard Sunlin talk about some of the conspiracies Greene has pushed over the years, and obviously now saying that, you know, if the Speaker doesn't do what she wants regarding Ukraine, she's going to go ahead with what she can now do, right, just takes one to force a vote on the speakership," Burnett said. "Does it worry you that she has this much power in the House of Representatives?"
"Well, Marjorie has this much power because we have such a small majority at this point in time," Buck said. "Mike Johnson, the Speaker, is on the right side of history, and Marjorie is on the wrong side of history."
"We know that Russia is propagating these false statements and narratives about what's going on in Ukraine," he continued. "We know that she is getting her talking points from Russia. And we know that they're false."

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A former officer at the Jefferson City Correctional Center and his wife were sentenced in separate appearances on Monday for recording a sexual assault of an unconscious 4-year-old, according to a press release from the Department of Justice.
Paul Emerson Schofield, 35, and his wife, Sara Ellen Schofield, 31, both of Jefferson City, had pleaded guilty in November to one count of conspiracy to produce child pornography and one count of producing child pornography. Paul Schofield was sentenced on Monday to 40 years in federal prison, while Sara Schofield was sentenced to 35 years in prison, the release states.
They are also ordered to spend the rest of their lives on supervised released after their sentences are served, the release states. The pair have been in federal custody since July 2022..............................

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. issued the following statement after voting against H. Res. 1102, the second FY24 government funding package:
"As a conservative Republican, I believe engaging in a good-faith effort in budget negotiations is requisite to standing up for our values and delivering on our promises," said Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. "Despite operating with a slim majority and a divided Congress, Speaker Johnson worked diligently to meet that standard."
"However, the second government funding package contains many non-negotiable elements of which I disapprove. It lacks meaningful provisions to secure our open border, end DEI initiatives corrosive to our military, and cut federal funding for the woke social agenda Democrats are pushing on our institutions. Washington badly needs more bipartisanship and less division, but I must draw a line in the sand. I voted against the bill."

Special counsel Jack Smith urged the Supreme Court on Monday to reject Donald Trump’s claims of sweeping immunity and to deny the former president any opportunity to delay a trial on charges that he attempted to subvert the results of the 2020 election.
Trump’s position, Smith told the court, has no grounding in the Constitution, the nation’s history or Americans’ understanding that presidents are not above the law.
“The Framers never endorsed criminal immunity for a former President, and all Presidents from the Founding to the modern era have known that after leaving office they faced potential criminal liability for official acts,” Smith told the court.
Smith’s filing landed in what has emerged as the most closely watched case of the Supreme Court’s current term. A broad ruling for Trump could undermine not only the special counsel’s election subversion case, but a litany of other criminal charges pending against him.
The Supreme Court will hear arguments April 25, and a decision is expected by July. Trump’s written reply to Smith is due next week. .........................

A top Republican senator and Trump-endorser is among those criticizing the former president over his Monday announcement on abortion, in which he claimed restrictions on the procedure should be decided by individual states.
"I respectfully disagree with President Trump’s statement that abortion is a states’ rights issue," Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said in a statement on Monday morning.
Trump made his much-anticipated announcement in a video the same day, stating his belief that the states should legislate their own limitations on abortion rather than the federal government.
