BEIRUT — Syria and its Russian and Iranian allies slammed President Trump’s call to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on Friday, inflaming regional tensions at a time when the Trump administration is seeking to curtail Iran’s expanding influence.

A statement by Syria’s Foreign Ministry said the move would increase Syria’s determination to recover the territory occupied by Israel “by all available means,” and Russia and Iran both said it violated international law.

Turkey, a U.S. ally, said it risked creating a new Middle East crisis.

Trump’s push to assert Israel’s ownership of the strategic heights along the Syrian-Israeli border, conveyed in a tweet on Thursday, marked a major shift in U.S. policy and has been welcomed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. But it also raised concerns that confrontations along the cease-fire line could escalate....................................

My understanding is that Trump did this out of the blue--to help Netanyahu win the election. But have to admit, I have not keep up with this issue.

Tensions were not inflamed by President Trump's decision to recognize the Golan as part of Israel.

They have been inflamed by Iran and Hezbollah's dismemberment of Syria and Assad's brutality toward his own people with Russia’s help.

Netanyahu is a thug.

You and Trump support him with this.

There are other ways to resolve many problems but I guess if those ways don't put money in the pockets of the three of you, you aren't open to other possibilities, eh?

Pentagon plan to fund Trump’s wall could hit Puerto Rico, European allies hard

Pentagon plans to take money away from military construction projects to pay for President Trump’s border wall would potentially deal an outsized blow to Puerto Rico and particularly affect a program helping European allies deter Russia, according to a Washington Post analysis.

Under pressure from lawmakers, the Defense Department released a list Monday detailing $12.9 billion in military construction projects that had received money from Congress but had yet to be contracted. That status puts them in a pool of funding that Trump could take for the wall using emergency powers.

The Pentagon hasn’t said which specific projects would be defunded. But it has ruled out taking money from military housing projects or contracts due to award before the end of the fiscal year. When those are stripped out, the refined list decreases to $4.35 billion worth of projects that are actually vulnerable. The Trump administration plans to take up to $3.6 billion, or 83 percent, for the wall, meaning most of the projects on the shorter list face could be defunded.

“President Trump promised that Mexico would pay for his wasteful wall, and now he wants taxpayers, Washington state families, and our national security priorities to pay the price,”......................................................

Puerto Rico is the most affected U.S. territory or state, with 10 projects at a value of $403 million on the smaller list, according to The Post’s analysis.................

He made the remarks during an interview with Mark Levin.

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) promised that he would file more lawsuits to “come after” people who “defame” him and other politicians on Twitter.

Nunes made the remarks during an interview with Mark Levin, where he discussed his lawsuit against Twitter. It was pointed out by The Democratic Coalition, a left-leaning PAC, on Wednesday evening.

“Sorry you just don’t get to defame politicians and put it out on Twitter anymore,” the California lawmaker said. “I mean, you can do it. But I’m gonna come after you.”

Nunes filed a lawsuit against Twitter earlier this week, seeking $250 million in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages, alleging that conservatives were being “shadow banned.” He also pointed to several parody accounts that were made “for the sole purpose of attack, defaming, disparaging, and demeaning” him. Fox News first reported on the lawsuit.

The lawsuit also seeks to have the identities of those running the parody accounts released.

During the interview, the California lawmaker promised to file more lawsuits in the coming weeks, likely what he was referring to when he said he could “come after” people. He said he expects suits to be filed “about every two weeks.”

“I’m going to go after all these fake news stories, and these social media giants—or the tech oligarchs as I call them—and I’m going to go after them. The only way I have to do it is through the courts,” he said.

Pollster says immigration is not a reelectable issue for Trump

3/21/2019

Pollster Lee Miringoff said in an interview that aired Thursday on Hill.TV that immigration is not a "reelectable issue" for President Trump.

Miringoff said that while Trump is strong on the issue of immigration among his supporters, it likely will not be a strong enough issue to guarantee him a victory in 2020 among most other voters.

"He's really talking about the refugee issue, and that's really what he thinks brought him to the White House," Miringoff, the director of the Marist Poll, told Hill.TV's Jamal Simmons on "What America's Thinking."

"That is not the issue that you want to be closing the government down and building the wall around, and all that," he said. "That's not reelectable issue for him."

Miringoff cautioned that Trump was "sort of barking up the wrong tree," on immigration.

"He's barking up the base tree, but that's really not going to help him ultimately in terms of the Electoral College," he said.......

Trump Has Now Shifted $1.3 Million Of Campaign-Donor Money Into His Business

Donald Trump has charged his own reelection campaign $1.3 million for rent, food, lodging and other expenses since taking office,
according to a Forbes analysis of the latest campaign filings. And although outsiders have contributed more than $50 million to the campaign, the billionaire president hasn’t handed over any of his own cash. The net effect: $1.3 million of donor money has turned into $1.3 million of Trump money.

In December, Forbes reported on the first $1.1 million that President Trump moved from his campaign into his business. Since then, his campaign filed additional documentation showing that it spent another $180,000 at Trump-owned properties in the final three months of 2018.

None of this seemed likely when Donald Trump first got into politics. “I don’t need anybody’s money,” he announced on the day he launched his 2016 campaign, standing inside the marble atrium at Trump Tower. “I’m using my own money. I’m not using the lobbyists. I’m not using donors. I don’t care. I’m really rich.”

At first, he acted like it, spending $50 million of his own money from April 2015 to June 2016. But the following month, when he was officially named the Republican nominee for president, his financing model changed. From July to November of 2016, outsiders contributed $234 million while Trump put up just $16 million.

Once he became president, Trump had a chance to get some money back.
The campaign put more than $800,000 into Trump Tower Commercial LLC, the holding company through which Trump owns his interest in the original Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue. Trump Tower Commercial LLC took in an additional $225,000 in rent from the Republican National Committee, which coordinated those payments with the campaign. That means that, since the inauguration, Trump’s reelection effort has had a hand in funneling more than $1 million into the president’s most famous property. ..................

LIMA, Ohio – Republican President Donald Trump, during a trip to Ohio Wednesday, again laid the blame for the idling of the General Motors plant in Lordstown on the more than 1,400 now-laid off workers.

.............................................................

In his speech to the around 1,000 employees, Trump said the workers at the Lordstown GM factory, which up until its recent shuttering produced the Chevy Cruze, didn’t try to save the facility. GM announced the Lordstown plant’s shutdown in November as part of a plan to lay off more than 14,000 workers in the United States and Canada.

“They could’ve kept that gorgeous plant,” Trump said. “Lower your dues. Lower your dues.”

His statements about union dues are curious. Union dues are paid by employees, not by the company.

Regardless of the accuracy of his statements, Trump’s comments were clearly intended to blame the union workers for the plant’s demise in the latest bit of a feud that has at times approached the bizarre. Presidents rarely tell bargaining units how to operate.......

...................................

Freeman's foray into beekeeping began in 2014, where he discussed his new hobby with Jimmy Fallon during The Tonight Show. Freeman had taken up beekeeping just a couple of weeks before appearing on the show and talked about his experience keeping bees and the need to preserve and save wild bees for healthy environments.

As part of his interview, Freeman talked a bit about the motivation as to why he began beekeeping. "There is a concerted effort for bringing bees back onto the planet…We do not realize that they are the foundation, I think, of the growth of the planet, the vegetation..."
.........................................

The EPA has highlighted Colony Collapse Disorder as a primary cause for the decline of bees over the last five years. The continued decline of bee colonies can lead to a number of ecological and agricultural issues as bees play the role of a key pollinator for plants.

Last fall, the Trump Administration rolled back bans on the use of bee-killing pesticides.
The ban prevented the use of neonicotinoid pesticides (neonics), which have been linked to declining wild bee populations around the world. The combination of these pesticides and insect resistant GMO crops have led to widespread deaths of bee colonies.

"Everyone Thinks They're Going to Sell": Hellfire at Fox as Hannity Mulls Leaving and Lachlan Goes F

Let em bicker!!

“Everyone Thinks They’re Going to Sell”: Hellfire at Fox as Hannity Mulls Leaving and Lachlan Goes Full Donna Brazile on Trump
Inside Fox, staffers believe that C.E.O. Lachlan Murdoch is likely to nudge the network in a less pro-Trump direction. Is this the first step in a larger strategy to sell the newly spun-off company?

https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2019/03/hellfire-at-fox-as-sean-hannity-mulls-leaving

March 19, 2019 9:30 pm

Donald Trump’s alliance with Fox News has been one of the few constants throughout his shambolic presidency. But in recent days, that bond has shown signs of fraying. On Sunday morning, Trump criticized Fox after it suspended Judge Jeanine Pirro for delivering an offensive monologue questioning Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s patriotism. Later in the day, Trump lashed out at Fox journalists, tweeting: “Were @FoxNews weekend anchors, @ArthelNeville and @LelandVittert, trained by CNN prior to their ratings collapse? In any event, that’s where they should be working, along with their lowest rated anchor, Shepard Smith!” He implored Fox to “Keep fighting for Tucker”—Media Matters had uncovered a series of offensive statements Tucker Carlson had made while calling in to Bubba the Love Sponge’s radio show—“and fight hard for @JudgeJeanine.”

Trump’s attacks on Fox have widened the chasm between the network’s opinion hosts and the news division, which have been fighting a cold civil war since Roger Ailes was ousted in July 2016. Fox journalists, bristling at being branded an arm of the Trump White House, are lobbying Fox News C.E.O. Suzanne Scott and President Jay Wallace to rein in Fox & Friends, Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs and Pirro. .................................................................................
..........................

The outcome of that civil war will be decided by Fox Corporation chairman and C.E.O. Lachlan Murdoch. Rupert’s oldest son took over the smaller media company that emerged out of the Murdochs’ $71 billion deal to sell their entertainment assets to Disney.
Though Lachlan hired West Wing stalwart Hope Hicks, staffers believe he is likely to nudge the network away from its close marriage to Trump. Sources close to Lachlan pointed out that Lachlan is a libertarian conservative, not a MAGA diehard, who in private has expressed annoyance at Trump. “He doesn’t like Trump,” one person who has spoken with Lachlan told me. “There’s a lot of talk of the direction of the network changing under Lachlan,” the senior Fox staffer told me.

Sources pointed out the hiring of Donna Brazile and the appointment of Trump critic Paul Ryan to Fox Corp’s board as signs of Lachlan’s view on Trump. “Donna is a shot in that direction. Management knows they have an image problem.” (A spokesman for Lachlan declined to comment.) Indeed, at an advertiser sales event in recent days, brands complained to Fox News executives about the network’s association with Trump, a source briefed on the meeting told me. (Through a spokesperson, Fox’s head of ad sales, Marianne Gambelli, said this was “completely false.”)

Two sources close to Lachlan told me that he has likely waited to implement any editorial changes at Fox News until the Disney deal closes on March 20, for fear of antagonizing Trump into opposing it. (The New Yorker’s Jane Mayer recently reported that Trump had told former economics adviser Gary Cohn to direct the Justice Department to block AT&T’s takeover of Time Warner. Cohn reportedly didn’t act on Trump’s directive.) ....................................

.......................................

Another vector influencing the Trump-Fox relationship is Hannity’s frustration with the Murdochs. Sources said Hannity is angry at the Murdochs’ firing of Ailes and Bill Shine, Hannity’s close friend and former producer. Hannity believes the Murdochs are out to get Trump. “Hannity told Trump last year that the Murdochs hate Trump, and Hannity is the only one holding Fox together,”
a source who heard the conversation told me. Hannity has told friends that he intends to leave Fox when his contract expires in early 2021, two people who’ve spoken with him said. (Hannity did not respond to a request for comment.).........................................
