Unless you catch "hackers" in the act, it is very hard to determine who was doing the hacking. Why wasn't this brought up before election?

Trump Told Russia To Blame for Hacks Long Before Debate

During Sunday's debate, Donald Trump once again said he doesn't know whether Russia is trying to hack the U.S. election, despite Friday's statement by the U.S. intelligence community pointing the finger at Putin -- and despite the fact that Trump was personally briefed on Russia's role in the hacks by U.S. officials.
A senior U.S. intelligence official assured NBC News that cybersecurity and the Russian government's attempts to interfere in the 2016 election have been briefed to, and discussed extensively with, both parties' candidates, surrogates and leadership, since mid-August. "To profess not to know at this point is willful misrepresentation," said the official. "..................
On Sunday, Trump disputed the idea there was any hack at all. "I notice, anytime anything wrong happens, they like to say the Russians are [Hillary Clinton] doesn't know if it's the Russians doing the hacking. Maybe there is no hacking," Trump told moderator Martha Raddatz of ABC News. "But they always blame Russia. And the reason they blame Russia because they think they're trying to tarnish me with Russia. I know nothing about Russia."

It's the second time in two debates that Trump has declined to acknowledge that the hacks, mostly on Democratic targets, are real, much less that Russia is behind them.
"I don't think anybody knows it was Russia that broke into the DNC. She's saying Russia, Russia, Russia, but I don't -- maybe it was. I mean, it could be Russia, but it could also be China," he told NBC's Lester Holt on Sept. 26. "It could also be lots of other people. It also could be somebody sitting on their bed that weighs 400 pounds, OK?"
But weeks prior to the first debate, Trump had already been told privately by the intelligence community that the Russians were implicated. ..........................

Where Trump Critics See Conflicts, Partners See Golden Opportunities

For President-elect Donald Trumps global business partners, the deals that some have called a conflict of interest are looking a lot like money in the bank.
His brand has become stronger, more global, said Hussain Sajwani, the chairman of a Dubai company that is preparing early next year to open the clubhouse for the first of two 18-hole Trump golf course developments. We definitely are benefiting from that the strength of that brand.
In the days after Trumps electoral victory, Sajwani told ABC News he announced an expansion of the Dubai development, and on a trip to New York he met with Trumps daughter Ivanka to discuss the ongoing ventures. The Dubai company is in the midst of marketing memberships to Trump International Golf Club, Dubai, and selling the luxury villas that surround the course.
At the same time they are planning construction of a second course designed by Tiger Woods. ...................................

WASHINGTON An extraordinary breach has emerged between President-elect Donald J. Trump and the national security establishment, with Mr. Trump mocking American intelligence assessments that Russia interfered in the election on his behalf, and top Republicans vowing investigations into Kremlin activities.
Mr. Trump, in a statement issued by his transition team on Friday evening, expressed complete disbelief in the intelligence agencies assessments.
These are the same people that said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, Mr. Trumps team said, adding that the election was over and that it was time to move on.
Though Mr. Trump has wasted no time in antagonizing the agencies, he will have to rely on them for the sort of espionage activities and analysis that they spend more than $70 billion a year to perform.
At this point in a transition, a president-elect is usually delving into intelligence he has never before seen and learning about C.I.A. and National Security Agency abilities. But Mr. Trump, who has taken intelligence briefings only sporadically, is questioning not only analytic conclusions, but also their underlying facts.
To have the president-elect of the United States simply reject the fact-based narrative that the intelligence community puts together because it conflicts with his a priori assumptions wow, said Michael V. Hayden, who was the director of the N.S.A. and later the C.I.A. under President George W. Bush............................
I am wondering why this Russian hacking story was outed late Friday and when Congress left
DC for the Holidays. I imagine it was timed that way. But it pisses me off.
