"The National Rifle Association’s CEO and executive vice president Wayne LaPierre finally broke the organization’s silence about the Newtown, Connecticut shooting at a press conference today, delivering a long indictment of the media violence and its demonization of gun owners. LaPierre will also appear on NBC’s Meet the Press this Sunday"

No wonder the NRA and it's associates don't want to have assault weapon control...they make too much Profit. It's been said that the gun sellers had the most profitable day after the Sandy Hook killings.
Another note:
Who the hell have we become by pleading to the NRA for gun control? Since when did the NRA own America?
In honor of all the "movers" who have parished, I have become a "changer". I like shooting my guns, but not to kill or harm people. I don't own assault weapons because I don't plan on killing anyone. I realize assault weapons are to some people as muscle cars are to others. But we gotta have more contol over these powerful weapons. Maybe ration the guns and ammunition?? Find the companies and businesses that contribute or support the NRA, then have a consumer strike until they pull away from or contribute more money to the mess left behind by these mentally-ill killers??
These are just a few ideas. It's my contribution of being one of "The Changers"

Veterans Call For Elections Supervisor's Resignation - Osceola County, Florida

Veterans call for elections supervisor's resignation over survey

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A political survey is causing more controversy. Veterans protested outside the Osceola County supervisor of elections' office on Friday.

Last month, WFTV reported that the poll sent out by a firm hired by the elections supervisor in Osceola County seemed to have targeted her opponent.

The survey asked, "How likely are you to vote for a disabled veteran?" and "How likely are you to vote for someone born in the Dominican Republic?"

Peter Olivo is running against incumbent Mary Jane Arrington for Osceola supervisor of elections.

Olivo lost both of his legs in Vietnam, so when Arrington sent out a phone survey asking residents if they would support a disabled veteran, it outraged Olivo's fellow veterans who protested outside of Arrington's office on Friday. They're demanding Arrington's resignation.

"I was deeply offended. When you insult one of us, you insult all of us," said veteran Dan Dubay.

"It almost made me cry. Here I am, I lost half my body for this country, I love this country, and they want to use it against me?" said Olivo.

Although Arrington denied a request for an interview on Friday, but earlier this month, she explained the survey by telling WFTV, "When you're in a campaign, you need to know the positives and negatives of your opponent."

She said it's just politics.

"I mean, this is politics, and if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen," said Arrington.

However, others disagree.

"She hasn't been under our fire. We were under fire. She needs to go to our kitchen. We will tell her what the heat is like," said Dubay.

"I am a disabled veteran, and I believe I am more capable than the current supervisor to hold any job in this county," said Vietnam veteran Mark Rosenbauer.

Olivo was born in the Dominican Republic. He became a U.S. citizen in 1969.

Arrington told WFTV, "Ethnicity is not important to me, but it could be to some people."

Olivo said he did not protest because he did not want to make it more political.

Makes me wonder what else is Ms Arrington doing, or what else has she done in the past. The way she just blows it off is a red flag.
She has also said the reason Florida has a hard time getting people to register or to vote is because of the high numbers of felons in Osceola County, and the State.

I resent Romney's thought process and his attack on 47% of Americans.

Truth is
I had to use our government food stamp program after the tragic death of my husband in 1998. I had little money, had 2 babies to take care of, a house payment, car payment, food, diapers etc. I held on for several months of making these payments by selling off personal items. In addition, nobody would hire me because I had 2 babies...employers were concerned that I would call off work a lot (they had no problem telling me this either). Food was in short supply. It was sink or swim for me, and starvation for my babies. I had no choice but to swallow my pride and reach out for assistance. Time marched on, and so did I. Thank God the food stamp program was there when I needed it the most. Thank God He held me together and gave me inner strength to make it through those dark days. My babies are teens now, and they are both college ready. They also are compassionate about human life and they know how to jump over those hurdles in life...with a CAN DO attitude.
So, Mr Romney, just because I had to rely on our government food stamp program, does this mean I am a loser? Does it mean I am not a responsible person? HELL NO it doesn't! Im not rich with money, but when I do have extra I pay it forward. Why? Because I know what it feels like, and if I can help 1 person up...I WILL!!
I resent your words and thought process when you personally attacked 47% of Americans, and your audience probably has no clue what it means to be down and out. Until you have walked in someone's shoes, You don't have the right to attack them! You, sir, are poison.
As always...I am moving FORWARD!
