Perhaps she had the front teeth knocked out in an accident, etc.

Many possible reasons.

Age- my son just turned 50, so I'm more at granny stage than the average

mother of the groom.

NPR will be grateful for your car; I will have grateful- or at least content- worms, I guess.

Thanks for asking. I was pleased with the alterations, and, perhaps more important,

felt good in the dress, even though it was full-length.

I stood up straight and didn't fall, received several compliments, and realized that I wasn't the object of
attention, - the bride was, naturally- but also not an embarrassment to my son.

Hope the Subaru looks good on you - long time in the future. - (perhaps by then it will be a precious antique and not worthy of being buried.)

Yes, absentee voting is available to all, and I voted that way myself.

Of course, one has to first request the ballot, then fill it out and return by the end of election day.

I prefer to vote absentee, as I can see the ballot choices and research them to make the best choices, on my own time schedule. Even during the wee hours if I wish.
Plus, it's then over and finished, and one doesn't have to be concerned with weather, illness, other appointments, or unexpected life events.

I know why - they told me.

One is on a house-and-dog-sitting job about 10 miles away and didn't come in to her house today, apparently. I believe she intended to vote as of Monday, but didn't make it happen Tuesday.

The other is rather disorganized and didn't get her act together to get to the poll on time.

Bottom line, voting is evidently not as important to them as it is to their Mom.

Here's how Dems lose - My two daughters didn't vote today, despite

my sending a GOTV email yesterday, to which one replied asking who I recommended.
The other daughter arrived at her polling place at 7:33p.m. - Ohio polls close at 7:3p.m.

Am I disappointed in them? -You bet I am. They're middle-aged women, living on their own, and needing the support a well-run government brings to all Americans.

No point in crying over spilt milk, but this Mom is not happy tonight.

It's more like spittle.

C-Span usually does a credible job on election night.

I do like to hear some - emphasis "some"- of those who call in.
You're correct about Tweety - He's become more and more of a blowhard, though there's also something I like about him as well.

Just curious - Are there any Green Representativess., etc., in the Texas legislature?

I'm glad you have the choice.

I'm in Ohio and just hate it when there's no Dem. candidate opposing Republicans.
This happens mostly in judge races.
