Paul Tipps, former Ohio Democratic Party leader, dies at 78.
The Cincinnati Enquirer and the Columbus Dispatch report the death of Paul Tipps in Columbus today.
A native of Cincinnati, Mr. Tipps attended the University of Dayton and became interested in politics in that city.
After running unsuccessfully for elective office once, he worked behind the scenes thereafter.
When he finished his terms as Ohio Democratic Party leader, the Democrats held every major office in the state, as well as the two U.S. Senate seats. He subsequently partnered in a lobbying firm. He suffered a stroke in 2010.
Is Rubio's wife a Southern Baptist? If so, that could account for
his attending Southern Baptist services with his wife.
Not only would I have no problem with that, it could have a most positive on his marriage and life with his wife and children.
It would show respect for his wife's beliefs; that respect would also have a beneficial effect on his children, who would see their father honoring their mother.
I'm presuming and hoping that Mrs. Rubio also attends Sunday Mass with her husband and children.
As far as his generosity in donating vehicles and other equipment to the
Sheriff's Department:
Has anyone asked whether he took tax deductions for those gifts?
IOW, was he really out much cash from those gifts?
Inquiring minds want to know.

I will admit that the insult is in the mind of the insulter, rather than the insulted.
Rather like "liberal" is considered an insult by conservatives, while I, aware of the etymology of the term, take comfort in the label.

If she says this to your face, you can only imagine what she says about you to others.
Since most of my own friends (and some family) are Republican and I'm the non-confrontational type, I tend to keep conversations to fairly neutral ground, though I will speak up when an obvious factual error is presented.
Sometimes, it's just better to smile at certain individuals and move on.
