No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalFresh water is in short supply everywhere on this continent.
The Great Lakes, the earth's largest supply of fresh water, are lower than usual, as well as belonging nearly 1/2 to Canada.
Is anything being done re desalinization of ocean water in California?
I realize that's a most expensive means of procuring water, but, nonetheless, California has an immense shoreline with the entire Pacific Ocean beyond.
If not, we at DU are all ears. nt
Unfortunately, we still see too many assuptions/mistakes made today,
made possible by the promotion and easy access to data on sites such as ancestry.com.
Too many who have no idea of what research entails and should be done simply copy the first census or online family tree they see, without confirming the validity by other means.
Because of early mortality in earlier days, confirmation of maternity is a necessity when researching generations unknown to us.
I try to contact - politely and pleasantly- those who've made obvious errors in my direct line, but, even then, sometimes get a little pushback, though others are grateful for the correction.
If the problem is in a line not directly connected to mine, and perhaps closer in lineage to the one who submits it, I usually fel I don't have much standing and let it go.
I understand that the city of Atlanta is blue, but am sure that as in most
metropolitan areas, the newspaper is strongly dependent on sales in the whole region, if not the whole state, in this case.
Anyway, am glad that Luckovich is their cartoonist, and believe that he has won many prizes for his work.
It sounds as though you'll need to reach out to other county members,
or, perhaps you have copies of older lists.
If you're new to the jobs, contact the one who preceded you and see what is available from that source.
You might also want to find out if Republicans have access to the lists.
Then, you could also use social media - Facebook, Meetup, etc.
Good luck in your efforts.
Luckovich is a gem. I wonder how he gets by with his
pro-Dem cartoons in the Atlanta newspaper.
Beautiful photos. The yellow/golden sky was here in
SW Ohio one evening last week.
I thought it was a little eerie, but not enough to freak me out.
Maybe, if I'd had that beautiful scene in photo #1....
I could use a CPAP with automatic pressure adjustment.
Did you have to have a physician prescribe it?
I've been using CPAP for over 10 yrs., after Primary care/internist prescribed the test.
Bought a smaller, more compact one online several yrs later - no prescription needed.
Shortly thereafter, I stopped going to the sleep disorder specialist, but have used CPAP nightly ever since the first recommendation. Probably 6-7 yrs now.
I'm thinking maybe this needs revisiting.
(Have other medical conditions - heart, pre-diabetes, weight and age issues, etc.)
