Is there a St. Vincent dePaul society in your area?

There can help with delinquent rent, utility bills, etc.
I recommended them to a DUer here about a year ago and they did help him out.
They usually pay a visit to the home.
They do not proselytize; the man helped here was not a person of religion.
if you can not locate one readily, call a local RC church and they should recommend one to you.

Still heartbreaking, all these many years later.

Yes, I remember it all.

Correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm no

expert in this area, but it's my understanding the algae bloom is caused by a combination of farm runoff and sewage.

I guess it would be worse at this time of the year due to the heat of summer and increased farm runoff by this time of year.

I imagine, but don't really know, that the fertilizer used for crop growth is greater by August.

Vatican lifts suspension on missionary priest.

According to christiannewswire.com, The Vatican has issued a decree that lifts a 29-year suspension on Father Miguel d'Escoto Brockmann, a Maryknoll priest. During the 1970s, Fr. d'Escoto, who is 81, became engaged in politics in Nicaragua. He joined the Sandanista National Liberation Front, a political party that overthrew the Somoza government and established a revolutionary government.

For his political involvement and failure to resign as Nicaraguan Foreign Minister, Fr. d'Escoto was suspended from his priestly duties. He has remained in Nicaragua as a member of the Maryknoll society.

The lifting of the suspension allows Fr. d'Escoto to resume his priestly duties.

As my mother would say: "Put another cup of water in the soup!"

You mean no more flamenco-dancing during the Mass?

Guess I'll have to leave my castanets at home.

Ed Fitzgerald, Dem. candidate for Ohio governor, swiftboated by Republican Governors Assoc.

According to Cleveland.com and Cincinnati.com, a police report was filed at 4:26a.m. Oct. 12, 2013 by the Westlake (OH) Police Dept. in response to a phone call re "an occupied Ford focus (sic) parked in the lot for the past half hour."

According to the report, the occupants were Fitzgerald and " a friend" "just talking". The friend was Joanne Grehan, who was part of visiting trade delegation from County Mayo, Ireland.

Fitzgerald and his wife Shannon have decried the "personal attacks being levied against our family". "There was absolutely nothing - nothing- inappropriate going on," Fitzgerald told a media group. The couple has been married 23 years and have four children. Fitzgerald is a former FBI agent.

The Ohio Fraternal Order of Police have endorsed Fitzgerald for Governor, and Ohio FOP President McDonald appeared with Fitzgerald today.

The request for this police report has been attributed to the Republican Governors Association.
(Isn't Chris Christie the current chairman of the RGA?)

Are the searches done before or after they meet with lawyers,

or both?
How is this any different from similar searches done in US prisons and jails?

Sounds good to me.

Of course, the lobbyists don't want to wear them.
Their "Scarlet A".
