If the truth be known, most of us with adult kids,

especially those unmarried and/or without kids of their own, know that Mass attendance is infrequent among them.

Of my four, only the Notre Dame grad is a regular attendee. The others range from one who is completely non-religious, one who is lazy about going but considers herself a Catholic, and one who will join us when we're on vacation together, but no interest otherwise.
All attended Catholic grade and high school; only the first one I mentioned attended a Catholic college.

There's no point at this stage in trying to educate them further in this regard. They're really middle-aged now and should know their own minds as much as they ever will.

I will keep you on my (mental) prayer list for a swift resolution to your quandary

I can understand that that the new minister had advance knowledge of your presence among the congregation. He would have been filled in by others, perhaps even those who interviewed and chose him as the new pastor.

Perhaps, as time goes by, you could arrange a get-together (lunch?) between him and the visiting priest from the Catholic mission. Now that would be a meeting to speculate on.

It's good that he said that, but that should be a given.

Think of all the acreage it has - probably a good percentage of it parking spaces.
But still, very valuable property in Orange Co.

An aside - my brother is living in Orange Co., in Yorba Linda - home of the Nixon Library!
He and his lady take in the various speakers there; the latest was D. Rumsfeld, promoting his latest book.
I think it would be much easier for me to adapt to the Crystal Cathedral than to those Nixonian speakers, but chague a son gout.

I visited that place about 35 yrs ago - not for a service, but

just a weekday look-see with a bunch of out-of-state ladies.

I just remember that it's huge.
I hope it's not high/expensive maintenance.

I've maintained ever since the subject arose

that it's really a matter of semantics, so I'm closer to the monsignor's and Shirl's position.

It's far easier to just use another term, and I'm fine with Msgr. Pope's term, if that's what the powers that be decide on, than to be forever squabbling about a definition.

It's abundantly clear that justice and human dignity demand equal treatment of all people, as the Supreme Court decision has laid out..

More brains in his little finger than

Boehner, Cantor, Issa, Romney, Paul I & II, Hannity, O'Reilly, Stossel, Geraldo, All Republican governors, Republican Senators, Republican Representatives. Republican voters, Justices Scalia, Thomas, Alito, Roberts,-

Heck- more than most Americans.

So they're taught to aim to kill-

That's more than self-defense, isn't it?
Seems to me that it would be enough to just immobilize the other.
But, as is obvious, I don't know a thing about that way of thinking.

Did Zim really have to aim for the heart?

Wouldn't a shoulder have accomplish the aim to get Trayvon off of him?

Hair

From my early 40's, when some unattractive gray started appearing, to the present, I've colored my hair.

While some gray or white hair is very attractive, I felt mine didn't look good with my coloring.
I was reentering the job marketplace after years of raising my family and obtaining a master's degree.

I knew that not only would I be competing for a position against women (mostly) many years my junior, but often the persons doing the interviewing would also be much younger than I. To someone in their 20's or 30's, an older person can fit many of their stereotypes - set in their ways, not as energetic, etc.

Just a thought. I feel hair coloring worked for me.

Good luck.
