No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalThanks, PJ. I'm maybe two decades
older than you. I know the name Garbo, etc., but never saw her act, and doubt that you did either, unless you're a fan of oldies. : )
Merry Christmas to you, my friend...
Chance meeting at grocery store last night...
I observed a young woman, likely about 30yrs, checking out behind me; she had two long braids, dark blonde in color. She also had a strong countenance, sort of a square type face. Fairly serious type, but not forbidding.
I went to my car, loading my bags into the back sat.
The young woman came with her shopping cart to her car near mine.
I called out, "You remind me of Greta; I hope you take that as a compliment."
She called back, " I do."
We each went about our packing chores.
As I left the parking lot, the young woman with braids looked up, smiled and waved.
Two strangers connected for a few brief minutes, somehow strengthening one another, acknowledging common values.
Buying one's own books is common throughout the book-selling business.
That is how many books make the NY Times best-seller list.
I learned this and was initially shocked when I heard that certain unknown writers were "on the NYT best-seller list."
Many are then given or resold cheaply to supporters of the author's causes.
This was done for a writer of a religious-themed book; copies of the book were given gratis to any one that wanted a copy.
Or promises made to him by Trump...
It's a harmless quirk.
A woman of my acquaintance also wears rings on each finger, and I make nothing of it.
She doesn't have a lot in life, compared to the American average, so more power to her.
It's their idea of beauty, and it gives them pleasure or makes them feel good about themselves.
I had it about 10 yrs ago and was hospitalized for about one week.
It started with what I thought was a rash in my armpit.
Primary doc sent me to a breast surgeon; I guess she was afraid of lymph nodes or something.
Breast surgeon took my vitals and sent me directly to hospital - it seems my blood pressure or something was extremely low, though I wasn't aware of that problem.
I was treated with an antibiotic intravenously; at one point they wanted in insert a Pic-something directly into my body/chest, and I resisted; said I would check out of hospital before that was done. (My veins in arm are heard to find and I think they just wanted to make it easier on themselves.)
I was released after about one week, and have not had a recurrence that I am aware of, though I have some kind of outbreak on each of my lower legs, which I am treating with tea tree oil and a cream, just to clear it up. - I have no reason to think it's MRSA.
I was in my young 70's when MRSA occurred.
The Ohio Dems problem is finding the right statewide opponent to run against Republicans.
They've had trouble in that regard both in Senate and governor's races.
With the exception of Sherrod Brown, of course.
Prayers for you and fur daughter, Sprinkeeninow. You have been through so much
in the last year. May you have peace this next month especially.
When the Democratic Party nominates for President a believer in a religious sect,
which the Democratic Party has done for most of its history, will that person be respected for his/her beliefs, or will she/he be mocked in this group?
What has occurred in the past in this group re religious and nonreligious Democratic candidates, knowing that most political candidates in the United States profess to be members of religion?
