When did you sign on?

February 6, 2020

I'm speculating. I'm thinking many have regular donations as part of their monthly

expenses and don't monitor their charges closely.

I've never looked at the Sanders' site (nor any other major candidate's site- because I don't want the endless emails and calls that so often originate as a result), so I have no idea if there is a mechanism, easily accessed, that permits one to end monthly donations.

Yes, there are a lot of people who, caught up in the enthusiasm of the moment, sign up for things and go on endlessly.

It is my understanding that Sanders has people signed up for monthly donations,

going back to his 2016 campaign.

I'm sure many people have either forgotten they signed up or don't know how to get out of the monthly donation, if they wanted to
Others likely find it a good way to donate easily without needing to be reminded or bothered by calls., etc.

Given the long-term donation sign-ups, Sanders is likely to remain high on the list in fundraising.

Though I'm officially "Undecided", I favor Joe at this time & like Amy K., but doubt she could beat

45, and like what I'm hearing from Bloomberg better than Bernie.

I won't be watching the speech either. Maybe the preliminaries and pundits before and

after, but can't tolerate the person (45) enough to watch.
We'll get enough of the gist and highlights(!) of it through general reporting, anyway.

Hamilton County Commissioner Todd Portune dies of cancer at 61.

Todd Portune, commissioner for Hamilton County from 2000 until his resignation effective Dec. 2019, and city of Cincinnati councilman before election to the county board of Commissioners, has died of cancer at his home in Green Township. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.

Mr. Portune was a graduate of Oberlin College, and received his law degree from the University of Cincinnati. When elected to the Hamilton County Board of Commissioners, the Board had been all-Republican for decades. Currently, all Hamilton County Commissoners are Democrats.

Further updates on Cincinnati.com or Cincinnati Enquirer 1/26/20.

Nan would make a great state-wide candidate; I'm thinking against Portman

next time he runs (2022?)

Ohio has had a hard time attracting good state-wide candidates in recent years, both for governor and senator (except for Sherrod, of course.)

Many are over-saturated with Trump and Trumpism, and the divisiveness and anger in the US.

I, a life-long political junkie, find I need breaks from hearing the same themes over and over.
24-hour news cycle exceeds my own living cycles.

So I tune in, get caught up on the latest, then tune out for at least a few hours.
There really is more to life than national politics.

I am feeling at this minute your initial frustration re unexpected household repairs.

A plumber is here in my house replacing a faucet that had a slow steady drip - costly enough, in that water is inexpensive in my area and could have dripped indefinitely without a huge cost to me.

Now he has informed that there is a clog in the pipe (which was not there previously); he is using an auger to open the pipe, but now tells me he must drill through the wall., etc.

I also love St. Anthony of Padua, but did not get him on the job soon enough in this case.
Now I need the patron of patience in trying circumstances (although I realize this is just nothing in the big picture.)
Thank you for reminding me of the efficacy of calling for (saintly) help.
