Pantagruelsmember's JournalCriminalizing ABORTION-let's talk money?
At the risk of being crass, recognize that policy decisions have real world costs:
The 2012 GOP platform called for criminalizing abortion.
It's past time for the GOP to tell the country how that would be done and what it will cost taxpayers.
Who's going to jail , for how long and what are the real world repercussions?
Effective criminalization would add a million, by definition, unwanted children per year to the population. Just the environmental impact alone needs consideration, we suck up resources faster than any society on earth.
Compute the dollar societal costs over the ten year budget period and I believe you're talking hundreds of $BILLIONS.
Your taxes will pay for that eventually.
SCOTUS
Hypothetical, inspired by Al Franken;
BO proposes a constitutional amendment that changes the SCOTUS appointment window.
Formalize what the GOP says is "right", no high court nomination by ANY president in the last 12 months of their term.
How can the GOP say no without exposing their hypocrisy?
