Was 60 minites a repeat tonight and why is CBS beating the Bengazi dead horse?

Speaking of shootouts in Arizona, 132 years ago today: Gunfight at the O.K. Corral

The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral was a gunfight that took place on October 26, 1881 in Tombstone, Arizona Territory of the United States. Despite its name, the gunfight did not actually take place at the O.K. Corral but in a vacant lot next to Camillus Fly's photography studio, six doors down Fremont Street from the rear entrance to the O.K. Corral. Although only three men were killed during the gunfight, it is generally regarded as the most famous gunfight in the history of the Old West.

The immediate cause of the conflict that led up to the fight was the arrest by Virgil Earp, acting in his capacity as deputy federal marshal, of two rural "cowboys" for a stagecoach robbery. Drunken threats made by another cowboy against the Earps set them on guard, and when family and friends of the drunken man arrived in town on horseback the next day, fully armed, there was a misunderstanding about how and where they should disarm according to city law. Within hours, both new arrivals were dead, as was a cowboy standing with them, who had illegally failed to surrender his pistol the previous day.

Same as it always was.

So would JFK be supported by the Democrats of today?

First of all he at least gave the outward appearance of being a devout Catholic. Strike one.

And then in a campaign speech given in COLUMBIA, S.C., OCTOBER 10, 1960 he said...

I believe the American people ought to be dealt with more frankly. I believe the American people are wise enough to know that either these promises are election year oratory - or they will require funds and effort by the Federal Government. I am just as opposed as Mr. Nixon to unbalanced budgets and centralized government. I do not believe that Washington should do for the people what they can do for themselves through local and private effort. There is no magic attached to tax dollars that have been to Washington and back. No expert in the Nation's Capital knows as much about your local problems and how to meet them as you do. Big government is just as much a threat to our liberties as too little government. But I said in Warm Springs this morning that I shared Franklin Roosevelt's belief that the Federal Government, representing all the people, must meet its responsibility in its area - "for the very simple reason," as he told a press conference there in 1934, "that if the Government does not do it, nobody else will or can."

He sure as hell wouldn't get much support on this board, I wonder how he would do in the real world.

Where I come from and in my family anybody who does work that should be union work

be it private contractor or whatever is a strike breaking scab.

If that's too harsh for a jury here then maybe that's why unions have been destroyed in this country.

'Wikileaks' Film Flop Scores on BitTorrent Sites

?1371511071

No box office smash, "We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks," captured the No. 4 spot in last week's most pirated movies roster, compiled by TorrentFreak, a news site covering all things torrent-related. As of June 16, 2013, the $2 million movie about Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, directed by documentarian Alex Gibney for Universal Studios, has made a paltry $158,600 in U.S. ticket sales, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com.

But it's a hit on TorrentFreak, beating big-budget pictures such as "Jack the Giant Slayer," "Fast and Furious 6" and the animated feature "Epic." ("The Hangover Part 3" held the top spot for the second straight week.) And the irony of its failure as a commercial venture, compared with its success as a "stolen" film is somehow fitting since it is indeed about so-called stolen or leaked documents, depending on your point of view.

Low post count troll at DailyKos whines about ACA

and Beck's The Blaze picks it up as proof that "ObamaCare" is an abject failure.

BLOGGER ON FAR-LEFT WEBSITE THOUGHT HE ‘COULD GO ALONG’ WITH OBAMACARE – NOW HE CAN’T BELIEVE WHAT’S HAPPENING TO HIS HEALTH INSURANCE
Oct. 15, 2013 9:31pm Jason Howerton

As the realities of Obamacare continue to sink in, more and more people are getting letters from their health insurance providers telling them that their plans no longer comply with federal requirements under Obamacare. We just brought you the story of “Trick Shot Titus” and his family facing significant increases in the cost of their health care plans.

Despite being an active blogger on the Daily Kos with 62 blog posts, many commenters accused him of being a “troll” just trying to discredit Obamacare.
