ANY TIME a Trump tweet begins with "Everybody is asking." you know it's time to grab the hip boots.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

Everybody is asking how the phony and fraudulent investigation of the No Collusion, No Obstruction Trump Campaign began. We need to know for future generations to understand. This Hoax should never be allowed to happen to another President or Administration again!

“Outrageous, it’s the Adam Schiff problem. People abusing the access to classified data to then go out in public and make allegations that didn’t prove to be true. You look at a decision to essentially investigate a political rival. Who made it?” James Freeman,

Mulvaney: 4 page memo was Mueller saying "You know what? I'm going to let Barr call this one."

Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney claimed Sunday that special counsel Robert Mueller intended for Attorney General William Barr to determine whether President Donald Trump obstructed justice in the FBI’s investigation into Russian election interference.

“What you saw here is simply Mueller saying, ‘You know what? I’m going to let Barr call this one,’” Mulvaney said, discussing the final report on Mueller’s 22-month probe with host Jonathan Karl on ABC’s “This Week.”

“He had plenty of evidence to say on collusion, ‘Absolutely not,’ and he actually punted over to Barr,” Mulvaney continued. “Again, that’s the way the system can and does work.”

In a four-page letter delivered to Congress last weekend summarizing the “principal conclusions” of Mueller’s nearly 400-page report, Barr wrote that the special counsel “did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities” during the 2016 White House race.

Trump border shutdown would cost "maybe a billion"...per DAY.

Sealing the entire border between the countries, meanwhile, would cause economic chaos. In 2017, about $558 billion in goods flowed across the U.S.- Mexico border in both directions, making Mexico our third-biggest trading partner for goods behind Canada and China. U.S. goods exported to Mexico totaled $243.3 billion, while trade in services accounted for another $58 billion.

Trucks transport the bulk of goods: In all of 2018, $424 million -- 69 percent of all southern border freight -- crossed in from Mexico by truck, according to the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics. That's up 10 percent from the amount of freight that crossed over in 2017. Two of the busiest truck border ports are Laredo and El Paso, both in Texas. Another $78 billion in freight crossed by rail, $67 billion by vessel, $17 billion by air, and $5 billion by pipeline.

Roughly 465,000 people also enter the U.S. each day through the various ports of entry at the southern border, according to a Wilson Center report. That's enough people to fill El Paso's Sun Bowl Stadium nine times.

"If you are thinking about a total shutdown of the border, then it's hundreds of millions of dollars a day -- maybe a billion," Duncan Wood, director of the Wilson Center's Mexico Institute, told CBS MoneyWatch. "It's an economic impossibility. Literally, the two economies would grind to a halt. Both economies are set up to depend upon cross-border trade."

Trump says it would be "so easy" for him to fix immigration laws "in less than one hour."

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

It would be so easy to fix our weak and very stupid Democrat inspired immigration laws. In less than one hour, and then a vote, the problem would be solved. But the Dems don’t care about the crime, they don’t want any victory for Trump and the Republicans, even if good for USA!

Mexico must use its very strong immigration laws to stop the many thousands of people trying to get into the USA. Our detention areas are maxed out & we will take no more illegals. Next step is to close the Border! This will also help us with stopping the Drug flow from Mexico!

How Trump's tax cuts will saddle American taxpayers with $2 trillion more in debt

New York Times columnist Paul Krugman outlined all the reasons why President Donald Trump’s tax cut failed — and how much it’s going to cost American taxpayers.

“The Trumpist theory — which was, I’m sorry to say, endorsed by conservative economists who should have known better — was that there was a huge pile of money sitting outside the U.S. that companies would bring back and invest productively if given the incentive of lower tax rates,” Krugman wrote.

“But that pile of money,” he continued, “was an accounting fiction.”

What’s more: “the tax cut didn’t give corporations an incentive to build new factories and so on; all it did was induce them to shift their tax-avoidance strategies.”

LEAKED AUDIO of late night Barr Redacting Session, which isn't fake just because I wrote it.

A.G. BARR: Before we begin, I need a commitment from everyone hear that NOTHING we discuss today leaves this room.

ALL: AGREED! (assorted snickers)

A.G. BARR: WHO'S SNICKERING? (all heads lower in silence)...OK, my first recommendation is that all references to "Trump," "Donald J. Trump," "Individual 1," and "President" be redacted.

ALL: AGREED!

TRUMP: That's BULLSHIT!

A.G. BARR: Mr. President, I'm redacting all references to you.

TRUMP: What's "redacting?"

A.G. BARR: Well, it's a lot like the Sharpies you use during your executive order signing sessions.

TRUMP: LET ME DO IT! LET ME DO IT!

A.G. BARR: Sir, I'm not actually using a Sharpie, and I can't let you do it, because if I did, it would betray the trust the American people have placed in me as their Attorney General.

ALL: (ROOM ERUPTS IN LAUGHTER)

A.G. BARR: STOP THAT!

TRUMP: I knew I hired this guy for a reason. Can I use that line at one of my rallies?

A.G. BARR: NO, sir, I specifically asked at the start of this meeting that NOTHING leaves this room.

ALL: (MORE LAUGHTER)

TRUMP: You know me, my lips are sealed. I hate leakers more than I hate anyone who isn't me, and I would never leak, even if it was to my advantage.

ALL: LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP!

TRUMP: You're getting a little ahead of yourselves, but I love you guys.

KELLYANNE CONWAY: Mr. Attorney General, do I appear in the fake illegal witch hunt report?

TRUMP: OOOOOH...I LIKE that, "fake illegal witch hunt report." Can use that line at one of my rallies?

KELLYANNE CONWAY: You already did, sir...the other night in Grand Rapids.

TRUMP: Yeah...those were good times.

A.G. BARR: Ms. Conway, you do NOT appear in the report.

KELLYANNE CONWAY: (sulking) Aw gee...could you maybe put me in there and then redact me?

ALL: LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP!

KELLYANNE CONWAY: HEY!

IVANKA TRUMP: They're not talking about you, they're talking about Hillary.

KELLYANNE CONWAY: Oh! Well, in that case, LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP!

ALL: (mass groaning)

IVANKA TRUMP: You have to pay attention and grab the moment, Kellyanne.

A.G. BARR: Ms. Conway, I CANNOT do that. If I were to alter a single word of what Mr. Mueller wrote in his report, it would be HIGHLY unethical.

ALL: (room erupts in laughter)

A.G. BARR: STOP THAT!

DONALD TRUMP JR: He said "unethical!" Heh heh heh heh heh heh!

ERIC TRUMP: Heh heh heh heh heh heh! I need TP for my bunghole!

DONALD TRUMP JR: We're not doing that one now, Eric.

ERIC TRUMP: Aw, shucks.

A.G. BARR: IF I MAY CONTINUE...I am going to redact ALL references to "Peripheral Third Parties," including Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and "Snooki" from MTV's "Jersey Shore."

ALL (gasping) SNOOKI?

A.G. BaRR: I'd tell you what he says about her, but I just redacted it.

ALL (except Kellyanne Conway): LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP!

IVANKA TRUMP: (to Kellyanne Conway) See? That's what I was talking about. That was a "moment."

KELLYANNE CONWAY: Huh?

A.G. BARR: NOW, on the bright side...

ALL: BRIGHT SIDE! BRIGHT SIDE! BRIGHT SIDE!

KELLYANNE CONWAY: BRIGHT SIDE!

IVANKA TRUMP (to Kellyanne) good, but work on it.

A.G. BARR: ON THE BRIGHT SIDE...Neither Barron Trump nor Tiffany Trump are mentioned in the report.

TRUMP: Who's "Tiffany Trump?" Second cousin? Adoring fan who changed her last name in honor of her favorite president, me?

TIFFANY TRUMP: DAAAAAAAAAAD, I'm your DAUGHTER!

TRUMP: DAUGHTER? Get me COHEN, NOW!

A.G. BARR: Errr....sir, you DO NOT want to do that. Trust me.

WaPo: The House Freedom Caucus and Trump's ego are providing the GOP's "political compass."

With social program fights, some Republicans fear being seen as the party of the 1 percent

On Capitol Hill, “the reaction is: Make my day,” said Rep. Kurt Schrader (D-Ore). “Democrats swept the midterms based on health care, among other key issues. The president is helping us make our case.”

Coupled with fallout from the 35-day government shutdown that ended in January and a GOP tax plan that delivered major benefits to the wealthy, Republicans once again find themselves on the defensive — fending off Democrats who say they’re not just the party of Trump but also of the rich and powerful.

And they face growing questions of empathy on issues including the crush of asylum-seeking families at the southern border and disaster aid to Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, which Trump complained about in a private lunch Tuesday with Senate Republicans.

“We’re diving into a wood chipper,” said Trump critic and longtime Republican strategist Mike Murphy. “I guess that’s the plan — being on the wrong side of issues, on top of the head winds we’re facing, with the House Freedom Caucus and Trump’s ego providing our political compass.”
