barr's next move, "Genesis Investigation?"

he will say whatever trump did in the Mueller Report, it was nothing because the investigation was illegal to begin with. This white wash is going to become a power wash!

What's with Rosenstein, standing there, like a manikin?

FBI ... still the same RW creeps that we should never have trusted in the first place. Folks joked early on in the investigation as to how Democrats now are trusting the FBI? I suppose we had to hold on to something about the existence of honest brokers, there. Now we need our leaders in Congress to pick up from here. I do trust Nancy Pelosi! Naddler needs to order Mueller to appear next week, not next month. Mueller does not have to prepare for a hearing. He knows all. One more month of RW spinning, NO WAY.

Municipal water departments should ban garbage disposals

The one's in your kitchen sinks. This would save millions of dollars around the US. Communities should set up curbside collections of this material and compost it. My community is facing big money to fix our water plant. Stopping the water flow from food stuffs from entering the plants would help a lot. Would save water as well.

Perhaps others have come up with this idea for raising money

to help rebuild Notre Dame ... relics of burned wood could be given to folks that donate money for it's reconstruction. Some might say, that the wood shards contain hazardous materials but I say place them in glass containers hermetically sealed. People around the world would line up to donate monies with the gift of a relic for Notre Dame.

Still under construcion, 116 years later, fire, St. John the Divine

I visited NYC in 2015 and went to St. John the Divine Cathedral. Beautiful. Restoration from the fire still goes on and stone masons are outside cutting stone to finish the Cathedral. Italian master cutters are training young NY'ers in the art of making statues etc. How long will it take to restore Notre Dame? Five years seems a short time as Macron promised to rebuild but, never underestimate the French people who built it in the first place.

Seven years after a raging fire destroyed its north transept and crippled its organ, the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine was rededicated on Sunday morning in a service attended by religious leaders, political leaders and thousands of New Yorkers.

The reopening of the cathedral’s entire 601-foot-long interior, and the repair of its 8,500-pipe Great Organ, followed more than five years of cleaning and restoration. The seat of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, the Gothic Revival cathedral remains unfinished 116 years after its foundation stone was laid in 1892 in the Morningside Heights section of Manhattan.

Passover 2019 (Pesach), For my beloved Jewish family members

Passover 2019 will be celebrated from April 19 - April 27.
The first Seder will be on April 19 after nightfall, and the second Seder will be on April 20 after nightfall.
Passover is celebrated by eating matzah (unleaven bread) and maror (bitter herbs).
For the duration of the 8 (or 7 days in Israel) of Passover, chametz (leaven) is strictly avoided.

Golden key: How to influence RW trumpers, with out even trying

OK, listen up. I always send and post stuff to my trumper family members, with links, of course, got to prove authentic research here, (RW authenticated stuff comes from FOX, Rush, Hannity, et al). They always call truth," fake news."
So ...............
I cut out sending links and just send the story .... PRESTO ... all of a sudden they send me likes and agree. So, don't give RW'ers the logical argument or the web sites that support your post (they have been told it is fake news anyway). I think that you will be amazed ... it is all about the emotional trigger.

Nativist, anti-immigrant sentiment in the US has a long history

Do you have no shame, Mr. President?

No, Donald Trump has no shame in taking children away from parents as they attempt to appeal for asylum and refuge in the United States. What a heartless and cruel thing to do and yet Trump does it. While he now says that he will stop this practice, he will do nothing apparently for those children and parents who already have been separated. The same public and political pressure that has forced Trump to change his policy needs to continue to deal with those already separated.

But there are larger issues here. Trump's immigration policies and views may go against the ideology of America as a country of immigrants, but it is still in line with nativist, anti-immigrant sentiment in the United States that has a long history.

Early naturalization laws, for example, only permitted white European immigrants to be eligible for naturalization. Nativists such as the Know-Nothings objected in the mid-19th century to the entrance of German and Irish immigrants. In 1882, the Congress passed the Chinese Exclusion Act barring Chinese immigration to the United States. This was spearheaded in California where white Americans claimed the threat of a "Yellow Peril."

In the early 20th century, nativists protested the mass immigration of the "new immigrants" from Eastern and Southern Europe, such as from Russia, Poland, Italy and Greece. Nativists viewed these immigrants as too Jewish and too Catholic. These immigrants were not even considered "whites" at least through the first generation. This opposition led to infamous laws in the early 1920s that significantly curtailed immigration from these parts of Europe by placing strict and limited quotas from these areas.

At the same time, as thousands of Mexican immigrants began to cross the border, nativists began to talk about a "Mexican problem." While Mexico was never included under the quota laws, Mexican immigrants were racially exploited, discriminated against and segregated. The very term Mexican became racialized in the Southwest and along the U.S.-Mexico border in the early 20th century. That is, white Americans considered anyone Mexican a member of an inferior "race."

This racist perception was expanded in the early 1930s, when Mexicans were blamed in some circles for the Great Depression. Acting on this, the Hoover administration deported about half a million people of Mexican descent to Mexico. The majority should have never been deported because they were U.S.-born children. Talk about cruelty to children! Sending children born in the United States to Mexico was an emotional crisis for many who either didn't speak Spanish or didn't speak it well enough to be easily integrated into their new schools in Mexico

Our Country owes a debt of gratitude to New York State

New York City was and still is the entry point for millions of immigrants. NY'ers shouldered the economic, health care, socialital problems burden not only because it was 'American Law' but the American way, to allow folks to come to our shores for a better life. Were there lots of problems? Yes! But this is America, the" Land of the Free and Home of the Brave" ... not as under trump , the 'Land of the Cowards and the home of the Deprived'

Now trump wants to send undocumented immigrants to sanctuary cities? Well we call BS on trump because HE IS UN-AMERICAN! Yes, NY City and other great cities around the USA would welcome immigrants as new Americans. What the fuck is wrong with trump?

Ellis Island (1892-1954)

Formerly known as Oyster Island, where Delaware tribes collected shellfish in New York Bay, Ellis Island was the first federal immigration processing station in America. Originally a cavernous three-story building made of wood, the building burned down in 1897 and reopened in a brick and iron structure three years later. An average of 10,000 people were processed each day, and one time, at its peak in 1907, the center bulged with 21,000 individuals in a single day.

Revised immigration laws in 1924 introduced the requirement of first obtaining a visa at the U.S. Embassy located in the country of origin, which process drastically reduced the staff and traffic at the immigration stations at U.S. ports. Passengers continued to disembark at Ellis Island after its processing station closed, after a total number of immigrants estimated at twelve million. The building shut in 1954 and was put under the auspices of the National Park Service in 1965. Occupied by Native American and African American activists as a locale to assemble and demonstrate in the 1970s, it was not opened to the visiting public as an historic site until 1990. Besides Liberty Island, it is the only terrestrial border between New York City and New Jersey, where one can walk from one realm to the other without crossing a bridge.r
