About Me

Just a poor liberal lesbian living in the deep south. Don't expect me to be nice just because I am a liberal. I am kind of bitchy with an attitude problem.

My Meyer lemon tree is about to bring forth a bounty.

I buried one of my cats who passed away under a lemon tree about 8 years ago. Lilly. She was precious to me and since then my tree has given me tons of delicious Meyer lemons each winter.

Please post your favorite lemon recipes for me to try. I promise to do the recipes justice and post the results. Thanks from Lilly and me.

Oh, and my wife thanks you too because she gets to eat the results.

My family thought for generations that we had a Cherokee ancestor.

We even new her name, Susie Redman. She was a family story and I grew up very proud that me ancestor was a Native American.

Long story short, my sister did a DNA test and we have zero Native American blood. She did some research and found that Susie, was from Germany. She couldn't find the origin of the family legend. Lmao, true story I just found out.

I'm not religious, but there are angels on earth.

My wife and I were at the medical marijuana dispensary, she's in a wheelchair. We got into a conversation with a man and his wife. Nice people. When he heard that my disabled Navy veteran wife didn't have a wheelchair ramp outside our front door he got livid.

"They treat our veterans like shit." he said. Then he volunteered to build her a ramp. We exchanged numbers thinking, what a nice man. His wife was just as lovely. We didn't really expect anything seeing as how nothing in life is free and we thought he was just making pleasantries.

To make a long story short, he is at my house right now with his wife and he is making good on his word. Not some fly by night ramp either, a good sturdy one that is cemented in. Paid for all the elements out of his own pocket and won't take a dime from us.

Clint and his lovely wife Shelly have restored my faith in humanity. I had to share this feel good story in this day and age. People, pay it forward. Do a kindness for someone. Karma is real and it can either be a bitch or a blessing.

I'm not religious, but very thankful for this blessing.

Please help feral cats if you can.

For the last ten years I have lived in a rural neighborhood in Midway, Florida, filled with feral cats. I rescued and adopted as many as I could afford. But what I really needed help with was trapping, neutering and releasing (TNR) the feral cats. I went to local city council and did what I could to get funds. But, they wouldn't help.

Finally, this organization, It's Meow or Never came to my rescue. To date we have TNR'd 12 adult cats and the wonderful people of It's Meow or Never are fostering a litter of 6 I found in my yard. I recently found another little guy that I'm keeping. This is Freddy. He has 6 toes.

These are some of the kittens they are fostering.

I am hosting a fundraiser on my Facebook page for this organization, It's Meow or Never, they could really use some help with food, litter, medicine and doctor's visits. Even 5 dollars would be of help. Thank you.

According to this article 13% of men won't vote for a woman for president.

The findings come as at least half a dozen women — including Sens. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) — have said they will seek the Democratic nomination in the 2020 presidential race.

The report points to an “imbalance” in coverage of women seeking office versus men and cites an article in POLITICO about complaints that Democratic hopeful Beto O’Rourke received inordinate media coverage compared with female candidates when he entered the race.

"While members of the media have engaged in public reflection about gender bias in reporting, the imbalance continues," it says. "For example, when Beto O’Rourke announced his candidacy for president, he received media coverage that dwarfed the attention paid to similar announcements by women candidates, even as some of that coverage criticized him for seeming to be unaware of his

If a 2020 candidate does not support impeachment of trump,

you WILL NOT get my vote. That is all.

Just spayed/neutered 8 feral cats!

I've been trying for 9 years to get some help and finally help arrived! It's Meow or Never is helping me to trap, neuter and release the dozens of feral cats I have been feeding since i moved in.

I have watched litter after litter being born and the kittens disappeared one by one. I finally caught a few on my own, had them fixed and tamed them down. But couldn't afford to do the whole bunch.

This organization traps/neters/releases. They give them rabies shots. They de-flea them. They get a physical and they do all this at no cost.

This is a great organization.

Florida Secretary of State Mike Ertel resigns after Halloween blackface photos emerge

Michael Ertel, the newly appointed Secretary of State of Gov. Ron DeSantis, has resigned after photos emerged of him posing as a Hurricane Katrina victim in blackface at a private Halloween party 14 years ago.

The photos obtained by the Tallahassee Democrat were shown to the Governor's Office on Thursday morning. Hours later it issued a statement.

"The governor accepted Secretary Ertel's resignation," the Governor's Office said.

I found a furever home for my rescue.

She's a young woman with no other dogs. Little Bit will have lots of love!!!

I rescued another dog today.

We think she is a pomeranian mix. Who knows how old she is. She's scared and bitey right now. Hopefully I will find her a good home.

She was roaming the neighborhood, and a neighbor had been feeding her. Nobody's claimed her yet.
