For Eric, For Michael, well, here's another name for you to add... Freddy

My client, Freddy Martinez was shot and paralyzed by the San Francisco Police Dept.. We don't use Grand Juries in California, so the SFPD decided to award the police officers for valor. Please read this URL: http://www.sfexaminer.com/sanfrancisco/two-sfpd-officers-still-under-investigation-in-police-shooting-awarded-medals-of-valor/Content?oid=2913666

Let me know what you think? And I'll let you know how you can help.

Please help a victim of a police shooting!

My client, Freddy, was shot and paralyzed by over-zealous San Francisco Police officers for defending himself with a BB gun. Yes, the so-called 'Greatest City in the World' actually has some problems.
This is my account on GoFundMe for Freddy. If you read the story, you will see that my client, Freddy was almost executed by the San Francisco Police Dept. I know some of you might say that an attorney is going to say that about his client's case, but what if I told you that statement was made by one of the independent witnesses?
What if I told you that the City Attorney is arguing that Freddy was a 'Sureno', for those who don't know Surenos are a Latino Gang. Freddy is not a gang banger, he has no criminal record, but he is a young Latino who was wearing blue jeans (Blue is the Sureno's color). Now you see what we are up against.
The San Francisco City Attorney is fighting us tooth and nail on this one, but in reality their defense is based on a jury believing an officer, who made several rather serious mistakes in process and procedure. The officer, who claims to be the shooter, didn't even write a report about the incident, a clear violation of due process. During his deposition, he admitted to at least three different incidents of gross negligence.
And we have evidence that he wasn't the shooter, it was a rookie officer that he was training. SFPD is denying all of this, of course, but think about it this way; its going to be a lot easier to defend an officer with 5 years of training and who is a former Marine than it is to defend a rookie officer with less than 4 months on the force. Yes, I can prove all of this at the trial. This is corruption at its highest.
This is a serious case, I believe that there is evidence of a cover-up by SFPD. If you can't donate (and I know some of you won't be able to) please help spread the word. If each one of you sends this to 10 people and so on, we can raise this money in no time.
These funds will only go to expenses needed in preparing Freddy's case for trial; such as depositions, investigation, and Freddy's medical supplies (these are not covered by Medicaid).
The State Bar is very serious about mishandling of client's funds, I, personally know of an attorney, who lost his license over $109 that was incorrectly spent. And trust me, the funds that are raised are urgently needed. Freddy will need at least $5 million in medical expenses alone for the next 50 years, as he was only 19 when it happened. SFPD doesn't want to pay a dime, they are denying all liability.
They claim that the officer warned Freddy to put down his BB gun. All the other independent witnesses say that there was no warning. Do you really believe Freddy wouldn't have put down his BB gun if he had been warned by police officers holding real guns? One of the Judges suggested 'suicide by cop' (this is an actual psychological diagnosis which has specific symptoms and characteristics, which Freddy doesn't have) and she is supposed to be objective, trying to assist us in settling the case. That is what we are up against. Freddy may be left begging in the streets if the SFPD gets away with it.
And there have been incidents where they have gotten away with it. Did you know that the SFPD once shot a man, who was handcuffed? Did you know that the SFPD once shot a man, who was sitting in a parked car? Did you know that the SFPD had to change its drawing and shooting policy because of a spate of police shootings that occurred in 2006? And you thought that 'Dirty' Harry Callahan was a fictional movie character. We will show all of this at trial but we need your help.
Please help, however you can. Spread the word! For Freddy, but also for the rest of us, who believe in Justice, as well.

Now can I ask a a question?

I started posting today and need some info. I am an attorney, who has a lawsuit against the San Francisco Police Dept. for shooting and paralyzing my client. I created a fundraising account for funds to prosecute this suit. I am up against some heavy hitters and we really need the funds for investigations, evidence gathering, hiring experts, and helping my client with his medical needs that are not covered. May I post the url to the fundraising sites and some info about our suit? The fundraising account is legit, the State Bar oversees these types of accounts and every single penny must be accounted for. The fundraising site suggest using facebook and twitter but I don't use either of those services. This is an important case, we have evidence of a police cover-up. We need help getting the word out. Please let me know.
