Trump Encourages His Supporters To Defy Stay At Home Orders

From the article:

Trump was asked multiple times to tell his supporters to follow the stay at home restrictions in their states, but he refused to do so.
Trump was questioned about his supporters protesting stay at home orders, and he answered:
Well, they’ve been going through it a long time, Jon, and it’s been a tough process for people. You know, I told you, there’s death and there’s problems in staying at home, too. It’s not just isn’t it wonderful to stay at home. They’re having — they’re this country wasn’t built that on principle. It was built on an exact opposite principle actually. And I watched, in one particular state, where they were — they want to get back. They want to get back. There were very strict sanctions that were put on people, that was probably the most strict of all.

38% of voters consistently support Trump. If these 38% were confined to separate areas of the country, one might say that Darwinian selection would solve the problem, and the population of consistently deluded would diminish, but this 38% is all over the country.

"It's Better Now Than When Obama Was in Office," Says Kanye West

From the article:

“I buy real estate,” West said. “It’s better now than when Obama was in office. They don’t teach you in school about buying property. They teach you how to become somebody’s property.”
“No, I’m definitely voting this time. And we know who I’m voting on,” he added. I was told my career would end if I wasn’t with [Hillary Clinton]. What kind of campaign is that, anyway?”

After reading this, I had two thoughts.

1) Kanye West should Google the term useful idiot.

2) Kanye should really spend more time writing his songs.

Devin Nunes Demands Criminal Charges To Distract From Coronavirus

From the article:

Nunes said on Fox News’s Hannity, “Roger Stone is in jail right now. Ok, because of these dirty cops and the obstruction of justice trap that the Mueller team put together. I hope that there better be people charged with lying and obstructing a congressional investigation because we should have been given this information.”

Breathless Trump Stumbles As Latest Propaganda Briefing Goes Up In Flames

From the article:

Donald Trump was wheeled out of the Oval Office on Tuesday for his daily coronavirus propaganda briefing, and he found a new scapegoat for his failure to respond to this crisis: the World Health Organization (WHO).
With a straight face, the president accused the WHO of “severely mismanaging and covering up” the pandemic, saying the organization failed to act early to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

As a result, as PoliticusUSA’s Jason Easley noted, the president says he is freezing funding for the global health organization, pending an investigation – in the middle of a deadly pandemic that has swept the U.S.
More projection from a president who refuses to accept responsibility

Sanders Tells His Supporters It Would Be Irresponsible Not To Support Biden

From the article:

Sanders said his supporters have a simple choice now that Biden has emerged as the presumptive nominee: “Do we be as active as we can in electing Joe Biden and doing everything we can to move Joe and his campaign in a more progressive direction? Or do we choose to sit it out and allow the most dangerous president in modern American history to get reelected?”
He continued: “I believe that it’s irresponsible for anybody to say, ‘Well, I disagree with Joe Biden — I disagree with Joe Biden! — and therefore I’m not going to be involved.’”

I would go even further, and say it would be insane to not support, work for, and vote for Joe Biden. The alternative is to either vote for a lunatic, or refuse to vote for the sane, progressive choice.

Please enjoy this rehearsal of Buffalo Springfield

For all of us who play, and played, in bands, this is an excellent reminder of how arrangements happen. All 3 are excellent guitarists, and all 3 are willing to play harmony. Steven Stills is in great form here.

Susan Collins Is Headed For Disaster As Just 37% Of Mainers Approve Of Her Job Performance

From the article:

Maine Sen. Susan Collins (R) appears to be headed for electoral disaster in November as just 37 percent of voters in the state approve of her job performance, according to a new poll.

The survey from Critical Insights shows that Collins’ approval rating has fallen five points since last fall, with 52 percent of Mainers disapproving of the work she’s doing.

Trump Melts Down When Reporter Busts His Coronavirus Propaganda

From the article:

After playing a propaganda video about his coronavirus response, Trump lost it when he was questioned by CBS’s Paula Reid about the one month gap in his video.
The exchange:
Q: (Paula Reid of CBS): What did you do with the time in the month of February?
Trump: You know what we did? What do you do when you have no cases in the whole United States —

Paula Reid: You had cases —
Trump: Excuse me, you reported it. Zero cases, zero deaths on January 17th. I said in January. On January —

I did watch this yesterday, and Paula Reid demonstrated how the media should deal with Trump. Expose his lies, and watch as he tries to insult the questioner rather than admit the truth.

And the truth, the truth behind his falling approval numbers, is that this failed businessman turned out to be, no surprise here, a failure as President.

Now that there is an abundance of toilet paper, and an impending shortage of pork products,

will a black market soon arise where one can trade toilet paper for bacon?

Passover, Easter, Ramadan -- and interfaith America in action

From the article:

Passover is about how a people who stay steadfast in hope can be liberated as a community from Mitzrayim, "a narrow place."
Easter is the death of one paradigm and the rising of another.

Ramadan commemorates the end of jahiliyya, “the period of darkness,” which is vanquished in the emerging light of the Quran.
These three periods of holiness will occur within days of each other this year, as will sacred events for Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists and Baha'is.

Collectively they carry a common message: The cosmic calendar calls us to renewal, forever changing the way we look at our lives in the material world.
