Is the justice snowball rolling downhill?

Many have speculated that once things start going bad for the orange fuck, those bad things would multiply, and fast. By all accounts, he's had a terrible week. Judge Dearie has slapped the living shit out of him and Cannon, the 11th Circuit has slapped the living shit out of Cannon, and Letitia James is having him and his family for breakfast. I just read that several GOP senators called his idea of thinking about declassifaction utterly ridiculous.

Is this the justice snowball growing in size and speed as it rolls downhill?

House hearings about the Capitol attack on Jan. 6 could resume Sept. 28, chairman says

Source: USA Today

WASHINGTON – The House committee investigating the Capitol attack on Jan. 6, 2021, aims to hold another hearing Sept. 28, the panel chairman told reporters Tuesday.

But Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., said after a meeting of committee members the subject of the hearing hasn't been decided and the schedule could slip. He also said the committee hasn't decided whether to invite former President Donald Trump or former Vice President Mike Pence to testify. Pence has said he would consider it, but lawmakers are leery of lengthy court battles with Trump or Pence.

"The Select Committee has developed a massive body of evidence," Thompson said in a statement Monday. "It hasn’t always been easy... because the same people who drove the former President’s pressure campaign to overturn the election are now trying to cover up the truth about Jan. 6th."

The hearing comes after research during August into several subjects, including how much members of former President Donald Trump's Cabinet discussed removing him from office, fake electors the Trump campaign organized in states President Joe Biden won, and Trump fundraising after the 2020 election.

The committee announced Sept. 1 it wants to hear from Newt Gingrich, the former House speaker and conservative firebrand, about his contract with senior Trump advisers about television ads amplifying claims of election fraud in 2020.

The latest: Democrats, led by Schumer, have confirmed 80 of Biden's judicial nominations

Source: Washington Post

The Senate on Monday confirmed Judge Salvador Mendoza to sit on the 9th Circuit Court, making him not only the first Latino judge to serve in the Eastern District of Washington, but also the 80th judicial nominee confirmed during the Biden administration.

Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) says that more judges have been confirmed under Biden than were confirmed at this point in the Trump, Obama and George W. Bush administrations.

“It’s something we Democrats are very proud of, because the impact of these judges will last for years, if not decades,” Schumer said on the Senate floor. “And we are by no means done.”

Mendoza, the child of Mexican immigrant farmworkers, was confirmed by a vote of 46-40.

Schumer said that the Senate will now move on to the nomination of Arianna J. Freeman to serve as a judge on the 3rd Circuit. Freeman, he said, will be the fourth circuit judge nominee the Senate will consider since the beginning of this work period, which started a week ago.

Most Americans see Trump's MAGA as threat to democracy: Reuters/Ipsos poll

Most Americans see Trump's MAGA as threat to democracy: Reuters/Ipsos poll

WASHINGTON, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Days after Democratic President Joe Biden gave a fiery speech attacking former President Donald Trump and his Republican allies as an extremist threat, a Reuters/Ipsos poll completed on Wednesday found a majority of Americans believe Trump's movement is undermining democracy.

Fifty-eight percent of respondents in the two-day poll - including one in four Republicans - said Trump's "Make America Great Again" movement is threatening America's democratic foundations.

Biden's Sept. 1 speech marked a sharp turn for his efforts to boost Democrats in the Nov. 8 midterm elections, when Republicans aim to win control of the U.S. Congress. read more

Speaking in Pennsylvania, a key electoral battleground, Biden urged voters to reject Trump and extremism. Republican leaders, including House of Representatives minority leader Kevin McCarthy, responded by calling Biden divisive.

Thanks, Joe!

Here's an idea: seize Mar a Crapo in an asset forfeiture seizure ...

... as an instrument of crimes committed.

Fuck knows who has been allowed to parade in and out and take a gander at classified information.

Imagine if you were the head of the country whose information was breached ...

(re-posted from the Breaking News Thread):

... and so egregiously mishandled, and you have no idea who has seen it, who has had access to it, who might be using it right now. Imagine the panic thinking that an enemy now has information on your military capabilities and schemes, your nuclear capabilities, etc. The security of your nation is compromised.

Then imagine watching as the thief who fucked over your country is still free to keep compromising your military (because he may have made copies), and he's even free to keep having his hate rallies. He's free to keep selling your information. He's laughing because he can do whatever he wants with your country's information and no one is stopping him.

Imagine watching as America - who may even be an ally - is doing nothing about your military secrets being sold and exposed to fuck knows who all.

It's not just that other countries no longer have reason to trust us because this motherfucker exposed their secrets, it's that America evidently doesn't give a shit about your country because they are doing nothing about this.

For the sake of international relations alone, this motherfucker needs to be arrested NOW. For the sake of WORLD PEACE AND SECURITY he needs to be arrested NOW.

Well, this is an interesting take on a possible second term - the 22nd Amendment

https://www.npr.org/2022/09/06/1120383809/22nd-amendment-explainer?utm_campaign=politics&utm_term=nprnews&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com

snip...........

The amendment says nothing about non-consecutive terms, simply that no one can be elected "more than twice." It allows for holding office a maximum of 10 years, but only if someone assumed office without being elected and served as president for less than two years.

snip............

The fact that Trump can only serve four more years is something that could become a political argument — publicly and privately — from Republicans building a case against backing the former president.

Why go with Trump, their argument might go, when he can only serve four more years and you could vote for someone else who could give you eight?

What's more, electing Trump in 2024 would mean an "open" presidential election campaign four years later, putting conservatives at a disadvantage without an incumbent president able to run for reelection.

Trump's former attorney general, Bill Barr, who has since broken with Trump over his election lies, made a resemblant argument. Republicans, he told CBS News, could "really achieve a decisive victory with the right candidate, but I don't think Trump is that candidate. The day he's elected he'll be a 78-year-old lame duck who is obviously bent on revenge more than anything else."

Right. He won't be working towards winning another term, so all it would be is four years of pure revenge. I'm sure he wants to do it, but I'm not sure even this crazy GOP wants him to. They'd have to figure out how to move on after he's gone.

Hey republicans! Over here!

Now that I've got your attention,

FUCK YOUR FEELINGS!

Damn snowflakes all whiny that President Biden told the truth. Suck it up, Buttercup. You're all despicable, so fuck your feelings.

I just needed to get that out.

Trump may threaten to reveal state secrets to manipulate legal proceedings if he's indicted: reporte

Source: Raw Story

Former President Donald Trump appears to have a weak defense if he's prosecuted for taking classified documents to Mar-A-Lago, but he may be able to hold the court hostage by threatening to reveal some of that top-secret information.

The FBI found boxes of highly sensitive materials in Trump's office and other areas of his private resort, and his attorneys have asked for them back, or at least an inventory of what was taken -- which NBC News reporter Marc Caputo told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" signaled his possible strategy.

"I'm being led to believe it's not detailed, it's not the stuff we'll want to see," Caputo said. "We'll want to see, like, okay, which foreign leaders potentially were in these classified documents he allegedly had or whatever. However, it's going to be more detailed. How much? We have no clue. The judge yesterday said she would start to unseal it after the court hearing, today is technically after the court hearing -- we'll see."

"I think a broader issue here is what you're also going to see in cases, again, if there's a prosecution, of something called graymail, which is where a defendant in a case where there's classified information tries to push the release of that classified information, knowing the government doesn't want it released," Caputo continued, "and that can sort of psych the government out of wanting to release that highly classified or sensitive information. Now there is a Classified Information Procedures Act, which allows for the courts to kind of go through and handle these issues and release redacted information. But the fact of the matter is we've never had a former president and future presidential candidate, likely future presidential candidate, on trial, especially over stuff like this regarding issues related to his presidency or his past presidency, so, we're, as I said, we're in uncharted waters."

Because this will surely help his legal case.

What a fucking moron.

The U.S. doesn't negotiate with terrorists, motherfucker.
