Russian Gangs Of New York
"When journalist Alexandre Grant began covering crime some 25 years ago, gangsters and roughnecks who'd decamped from the teetering Soviet Union roamed New York City's Russian-speaking neighborhoods, menacing emigres with extortion rackets and brazen contract hits.
That scene is largely gone -- a good thing, to be sure, for entrepreneurs who once shuddered at hearing the Russian equivalent of "Nice place you got here. Be a shame if something happened to it."
Grant, though, betrays a certain nostalgia for that brutish era, one bereft of cookie-cutter cybercrimes that land Russian-speaking criminal groups in authorities' crosshairs nowadays.

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton to Trump: Extreme rhetoric not welcome here
source: AZCentral
" Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and local immigration activists sent a stern message to Donald Trump ahead of his highly-anticipated speech Wednesday: Your "extreme rhetoric" isn't welcome here.
Stanton called the Republican presidential candidate's attempt to clarify his position on immigration a signal of a floundering campaign.
He spoke at a morning press conference alongside state Rep. Rebecca Rios, D-Phoenix, and two young people who are so-called "dreamers" immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children who have been protected from deportation under President Barack Obama's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, known as DACA.

How many times did Don the Con say "OUR HEMISPHERE" ?
His base gonna be spinnin' that one real fast. Sounds "Hemispheric" as opposed to nationalistic to me.
In Don the Con's PRIVATE meeting with Mexico President Peña Nieto tomorrow I certainly hope that
it is recorded in some way so that there can be no dispute as to what is said. You know that Don the Con will fabricate some grandiose version of what he will "accomplish" at the meeting.
Can anyone figure out a basis to block his re-entry?
Trump weighs meeting in Mexico with the countrys presidentMontini: The making of a milquetoast maverick – John McCain

"...'...
Asked if he would reject Trump after the primary and withdraw his endorsement, McCain told a reporter, No. Theres no reason to do that.
Not if he wants to keep his seat.
More so, perhaps, if he wanted to keep his dignity. "

Donald Trump's New Campaign C.E.O. Recorded Using Anti-gay Slur
source: Vanity Fair
" Donald Trump has cycled through a series of campaign leaders, each brought on to remedy the Republican nominees head-spinning presidential bid, but each turning into a headache himself. The latest campaign savior turned liability is former Breitbart News executive Stephen Bannon, who Trump named his campaign C.E.O. earlier this month. The campaign shake-up, which included the elevation of G.O.P. pollster Kellyanne Conway to campaign manager, was at the time seen as both a slight and solution to Paul Manafort, Trumps former campaign chairman, who was drawing unwanted attention over his controversial business ties to Russia and Ukraine. But in the two weeks since Bannon took the helm, Trumps campaign has been rocked by a string of allegations against the media firebrand, including a decades-old domestic-abuse charge. And the bad press isnt stopping.
The latest of Bannons past transgressions to come to light is a comment he made in a five-year-old interview, in which he calls progressive women dykes. In a 2011 radio interview with Political Vindication Radio, Bannon said that conservative womensuch as Ann Coulter, Michele Bachmann, and Sarah Palinare an existential threat to the progressive narrative and as a result there are some unintended consequences of the womens liberation movement. That, in fact, the women that would lead this country would be pro-family, they would have husbands, they would love their children, he said, as BuzzFeed News first reported. They wouldnt be a bunch of dykes that came from the Seven Sisters schools up in New England. That drives the left insane and thats why they hate these women, Bannon continued.

N.Y. high court broadens definition of parent in landmark ruling
source: Reuters
" In a landmark ruling for non-traditional families in New York, the state's highest court on Tuesday held a person need not have a biological or adoptive relationship with a child to be considered a parent.
The decision by the New York Court of Appeals gives such individuals legal standing to seek custody or visitation rights.
The state's earlier definition of parent had become "unworkable" given today's increasingly varied family relationships, Judge Sheila Abdus-Salaam wrote on behalf of five members of a six-judge panel.

Montini: Trump says Kaepernick should find another country (Or, should Trump?)
source: AZCentral
" Youd like to believe that a person running for president of the United States would understand and appreciate -- and celebrate --the right of a U.S. citizen to speak his mind.
After all, speaking his mind is exactly what Donald Trump has been doing for the better part of a year. Saying outrageous things. Terrible things. Hurtful, ugly things.
And it is totally his right.
