Report: Up to 500K Californians may be blocked from voting

CNN)Nearly half a million California voters may be unable to participate in the state's presidential primaries on June 7 as a result of confusion in the voter registration process, a Los Angeles Times investigation has discovered.
Hundreds of thousands of Californians who intended to register as independents may have accidentally registered instead with the ultra-conservative American Independent Party (AIP), which opposes abortion rights and same-sex marriage, and calls for building a fence along the entire U.S. border.
The LA Times reports that "a majority of (AIP) members have registered with the party in error," and that "nearly 3-in-4 people did not realize they had joined the party" after surveying registered members.

The Times had a team of Republican and Democratic pollsters contact a list of 500 AIP members, obtained through a public records request, who determined that "fewer than 4% could correctly identify their own registration as a member of the American Independent Party."

I did this many years ago until I started getting rw material in the mail. I finally realized what I had done and switched to "no party preference".

After public anguish, Bronx councilman endorses Sanders on eve of primary

With just a day to go before New York's presidential primary, Councilman Ritchie Torres of the Bronx is throwing his support behind Bernie Sanders, citing the Vermont senator's progressive agenda.

“Bernie represents a special phenomenon in progressive politics. He singularly has made inequality and poverty the focal point of the presidential election — that is his contribution to progressive politics and he’s energizing young people to an extent never seen before,” Torres said, in an interview with POLITICO New York.

Currently at Washington's 29th Legislative District Caucus

And it's packed with Bernie supporters! It's so cool to be a part of this

First count 199 Sanders, 84 Hillary. I can't remember the exact alternate count, but it was stacked similarly, mostly Sanders!

Another story out of the Washington Caucuses

Hey everyone. I'm an alternate delegate from district 46-1957 and I'm at today's caucus.

My girlfriend is a Latina woman who gave an impassioned speech on Bernie's behalf at the first caucus. Her speech was so incredible that she was unanimously elected a Bernie delegate. Meanwhile, my speech was much weaker but still passionate, and I was elected an alternate.

That caucus was run entirely by pro-Hillary people, and some votes mysteriously appeared in her favor between the first and final votes. These votes would have gotten Hillary one more delegate and lost one for Bernie, so my girlfriend spearheaded the demand for a recount.

The woman running things got very defensive, but my girlfriend (and the rest of us) persisted. In the end they relented and it turns out while Hillary still won the precinct, they had "missed" votes for Bernie and "accidentally" counted some for Hilary. Because of my girlfriend, Bernie got a delegate that would have gone to Hillary.

Today we went to our next caucus. We go to sign in and lo and behold, there is no trace of her as a delegate or even an alternate. Maybe it was a genuine mistake, but I find it very suspicious that my girlfriend was a minority and also was responsible for getting Bernie more delegates than he would have had (not to mention she was a fantastic speaker) and she was striken from the records. She was listed nowhere as a delegate or an alternate, while meanwhile I was listed as a full-on delegate. Meanwhile one of our alternates was missing from the list and someone no one had heard of was listed as the other alternate.

My girlfriend showed her signed card to prove she was the rightful delegate. Myself and one other alternate came forward as witnesses for her, and still we were met with resistance and defensiveness. But we persisted.

We just spent the last hour getting this sorted out. We did manage to fix it, but if we hadn't been persistant, Bernie would have lost out on a powerful delegate with a strong voice. Instead Bernie would have had another white man supporting him, which feeds into the narrative that he doesn't get minority votes. I dunno, this just feels really suspicious.

TLDR; A well-spoken Latina woman delegate disaapeared from the records, and a much less articulate white male alternate got put in her place.

Fire alarm pulled at WA LD44 caucus

The building has been evacuated for over half an hour, and everything is on hold until the fire department shows up. We're doing our best to keep everyone in line, engaged and in good humor with 'feeling the Bern' jokes, but this is a bit ridiculous.

Hopefully OP will keep posting. I'm interested in knowing what's going on there.
