The only black owned five star resort and spa in the US.

https://www.salamanderresort.com/forbes-five-star?nck=0319-ppc-forbes-five-star&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIn6iVwr6o4wIVQUwNCh2SOQUfEAAYASAAEgLi9PD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Now for a little info from an unrelated article.

In 2016, 0.2% of all VC funding was allocated toward startups founded by black women.

“The fact that only 11 startups led by black women have raised more than $1M in outside funding is striking for two reasons: (1) In tech, raising at least $1 million is an indicator that a company is at the later stages of seed funding and is moving from proving the market to growth, and (2) the average amount raised industry-wide by startups that ultimately fail is $1.3 million,” wrote Finney in 2016 about the depressing findings.

Plus, black women received just a tiny fraction of investment compared to startups led by men, which were granted $2.1 million on average. Black women-led startups, on the other hand, have increased by just $6,000 since 2016 to $42,000. But perhaps what is most alarming is that the median funding raised by all black women is $0. This means that the majority of black women-led startups do not raise any money at all.

These number have improved since 2016. There is really only one way they can go. Up.

Just leaving this here as I was reminded about this article after reading about Salamander Resort.

Every day I read statistics and other information that leads me to believe that reparations aren't only necessary, not having done them already is one of our greatest failures.

I know the content here is a little disjointed but I thought it was worth sharing.

Elizabeth Warren Takes a Bite Out of the Bernie Bros With $19 Million Haul in Campaign Cash

Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Elizabeth Warren raised $19.1 million in campaign cash over the past three months, beating the take of similarly politically progressive rival Sen. Bernie Sanders during the same period.

The numbers suggest Warren may be viewed as a more politically viable alternative to Sanders. And, as the New York Times reports, the Massachusetts senator also seemingly has impactful connections to donors, given that she managed to raise in this quarter more than three times the $6 million she took in during the three months prior—all without any fundraising events.

“We raised more money than any other 100% grassroots-funded campaign,” Warren campaign manager Roger Lau wrote in an email to supporters Monday. “You sent a message that Elizabeth’s vision for the future is worth fighting for.”

Lau’s message pointed up the fact that while Warren’s take was third behind Democratic rivals former Vice President Joe Biden ($21.5 million) and South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg ($24.8 million), both Biden and Buttigieg did traditional fundraising.

The Root

I think the important take-away is that Sanders kept his 2016 operation in full swing. He never stopped running. It took Warren three short months to get herself into a better position than Sanders who has been running for years.

"I learned a long time ago that when change happens it's either because people see the light or they feel the fire."

"We're lifting up these stories in the hopes that you will see the light. And if you don't, we will bring the fire."

I have two problems with Elizabeth Warren.

One is her views on lobbyists. I think she goes too far. That said, I do want stronger regulations limiting the impact of the revolving door and feel she can get it done. That is why my issue with her here is of no great concern. We both want to go in the same direction, Warren just wants to take it further than I do. Much further. I'm a big supporter of lobbyists. They are a vital part of a Representative Republic.

Warren has publicly stated more than this about lobbyists but here is an overview of her thoughts.

Elizabeth Warren

Again, this is a minor issue I have. Nothing major. She wants to go in the same direction I do. She is better than most on this issue.

My second issue is about her fundraising. I'm sick and tired of Democrats handcuffing themselves. I was really not happy about how far Warren has gone in not taking contributions from certain areas. Well, Warren cleared a hurdle in Q2 that completely negates this concern for me. I still don't like the limitations she has put on herself in this area but she has shown me that she can compete with these limitations in place. I think it's a real testament as to how powerful she is right now. How well liked she is. How much grassroots support she actually has. I didn't think she was going to come in with the massive haul she did in Q2. I am beyond happy that I was wrong.

I am really excited that I have a candidate to back with a smile. Someone I have very few issues with, and even those issues are really minor.

I think she is campaigning like a rock star. She knows how much time is left and is just grinding every single day. She is lobbing policy bombs, not bombs at her competitors. When she highlights distinctions between her and her competitors, it's directly related to the issues of today. Nothing seems forced.

Lets go Warren!

I want to thank all of Elizabeth Warrens future surrogates for doing such an outstanding job.

From Biden to Williamson, they are all doing a great job of making the party and Warren look good.

I can't wait until all of them officially join team Warren.

*Have a bit of fun today. You all deserve a smile.

"I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy."

“He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it – Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”

Most of us have always understood who this sexist pig is. Others need to learn. Cenk has less firepower upstairs than HA Goodman.

Cenk relentlessly trashes Buttigieg, Harris, Pelosi and Biden.

Has he held his rally yet? The one where he said he is going to change the election. By that he means up his game as a proud ratfucker.

Can this piece of shit stop being used as if he is some kind of authority on the left? He is neither authoritative or left.
