Her Sister's JournalFact check: yes, Hillary Clinton’s potential running mate Tim Kaine is strongly pro-choice (HRC GP)
EXCERPTS:Leading pro-choice group Planned Parenthood has assigned Tim Kaine a perfect score of 100 based on his career in politics, meaning that he has sided in favor of pro-choice legislation every single time its been put in front of him. Another leading abortion rights group, NARAL, has also assigned Kaine a perfect rating.
So whats the problem? Some of the confusion may he coming from the fact that Kaine, being Catholic, is personally opposed to abortion but he nonetheless strongly believes that government should stay out of the matter. In his own words:
People use labels all the time. But Im kind of a traditional Catholic. I dont like it personally. Im opposed to abortion. And personally Im opposed to the death penalty. I deeply believe, and not just as a matter of politics, but even as a matter of morality, that matters about reproduction and intimacy and relationships and contraception are in the personal realm. Theyre moral decisions for individuals to make for themselves. And the last thing we need is government intruding into those personal decisions. So Ive taken a position which is quite common among Catholics. Ive got a personal feeling about abortion, but the right role for government is to let women make their own decisions. (source
This means that Tim Kaine has a stance on abortion thats similar to that of current Vice President Joe Biden, who stated during the VP debates that while he was personally opposed to abortion for religious reasons, he fully supported a womans right to choose and was strongly opposed to any governmental attempt at limiting that right.

DOUBLE STANDARD: Media Say Hillary Is ‘Dishonest’ While Donald Is ‘Creative With The Truth’
Donald Trumps Deals Rely on Being Creative With the Truth.
Theres your 2016 double standard in a single headline.
This double standard isnt new. The story of Hillarys phenomenal primary victory is the story of millions of Americans defying a torrent of anti-Hillary talking points and false frames to carry her to victory.
It began as soon as she announced her candidacy:
The full-scale barrage hitting the Clinton Foundation is the result of a complicated interplay among conservative oppo shops, rightwing authors, GOP politicians and the mainstream media, with the latter acting, once again, as a legitimating force.
I made that observation last May. In the 14 months since, Ive meticulously chronicled the frontal assault on Hillarys character enabled, and often encouraged, by the national media.

Donald Trump seems stunned to learn that his running mate Mike Pence voted for the Iraq War (HRC GP)
But the lowest point of the interview may have been the stunning revelation that Donald Trump didnt appear to know that Mike Pence voted in favor of the Iraq War while he was serving in the United States House of Representatives. Trump has spent much of his campaign insisting that the war was a mistake, laying the blame at the feet of former President George W. Bush while facing off against his brother Jeb Bush in the Republican primary race. Now that Trump has reached the general election, he has repeatedly criticized Hillary Clinton for having voted for the Iraq War while she was in the Senate, something she has since stated that she regrets.
But Donald Trump appeared to be caught off guard when 60 Minutes interview Leslie Stahl informed him that Mike Pence had also voted for the Iraq War. I dont care, Trump defiantly blurted out, in a scene which felt like it was straight out of the movie The Fugitive. And so now Trump can no longer use his opposition to the Iraq War as a campaign issue, now that hes picked a running mate who voted in favor of it. As per usual in this campaign, it appears Trump simply didnt do his homework before making the Pence pick. No wonder he tried so hard to get out of it.

You've Been Trumped (2011) - Official Trailer [HD]
When it was announced that the documentary was to be given its British television premiere on BBC Two on 21 October 2012, Trump's lawyers contacted the corporation to demand that the film should not be shown, claiming that it is "defamatory" and "misleading".[2] The screening went ahead. The BBC defended its decision, noting that Trump had repeatedly refused to be interviewed in conjunction with the film.[2]

Paul Ryans primary opponent: Ill support Trump
Following the Trump campaigns lash-out on Friday, Paul Nehlen seized that opening, suggesting he will do what Ryan won't: support Trump.
If Mr. Trump is the nominee, I will support that decision, because it will have been the will of the voters that got him there, the Republican challenging Ryan for Wisconsins 1st Congressional District seat in the states August primary said in a statement.

Ryan's primary opponent, Paul Nehlen, endorsed Trump soon after Ryan's announcement last week. Palin told Tapper that although she hasn't yet informed Nehlen that she's endorsing him, "I will do whatever I can for Paul Nehlen."
Following incumbent Ryan's declaration of his stance on Trump, Sarah Palin told CNN that she would work to defeat Ryan in the GOP primary. She said of Ryan, "His political career is over but for a miracle because he has so disrespected the will of the people, and as the leader of the GOP, the convention, certainly he is to remain neutral, and for him to already come out and say who he will not support is not a wise decision of his." Palin went on to endorse Ryan's primary opponent Paul Nehlen. She said, "I will do whatever I can for Paul Nehlen. This man is a hard-working guy, so in touch with the people. Paul Ryan and his ilk, their problem is they have become so disconnected by the people whom they are elected to represent." Nehlen endorsed Trump shortly after Ryan announced that he would not support him.

Even as they finalized the list this week, Mr. Trumps campaign aides and party officials were also working behind the scenes to stave off any challenges to Mr. Trumps nomination on the convention floor next week.

Kos: Why Donald Trump's $51 million fundraising haul is a good thing for Democrats (HRC GP)
Trump raised $26 million for his own campaign, his team announced, with an additional $25 million raised jointly with the RNC at 22 separate fundraising events around the country. According to the campaign, 400,000 people donated, and 94 percent of those donations were for less than $200.
In addition to the $51 million raised, Trump contributed $3.8 million of his own money to the campaign. His campaign did not announce how much money it currently has on hand, or how much it spent during the month of June.
That number isnt actually as good as it looks. Four years ago, Mitt Romney raised $106 million in June 2012, and had $160 million in the bank. But still, this is the best news to happen to Democrats this montheven more so than Hillary Clinton being cleared of criminal wrongdoing by the FBI.
Why? Because there is a real effort to oust Trump in a convention coup, and one that had picked up steam in the preceding weeks.

Here’s Why Quinnipiac’s Polls Showing Trump Leading Clinton Are Totally Wrong (GD 16)
By Jason Easley on Wed, Jul 13th, 2016 at 11:30 am
The media has hopped all over three new Quinnipiac University polls showing Trump leading Clinton in Pennsylvania and Florida, but the problem is that Quinnipiac is rigging their polls for the best possible Trump outcome.
The media has hopped all over three new Quinnipiac University polls showing Trump leading Clinton in Pennsylvania and Florida, but the problem is that Quinnipiac is rigging their polls for the best possible Trump outcome.
The new Quinnipiac polls show Trump leading Clinton 43%-41% in Pennsylvania, 42%-39% in Florida, and tied with Clinton 41%-41% in Ohio. These numbers do not match national polling, which has shown no movement towards Trump, so whats going on here?
The chart below shows white voter turnout in Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania in 2012 versus Quinnipiacs 2016 projections:
If Quinnipiacs white voter turnout was adjusted to actual voter turnout levels, Clinton would lead by 3 points in Pennsylvania, 5 points in Ohio, and be tied in Florida.
However, the oversampling of white voters is only half of the problem. Quinnipiacs polling also underrepresents minorities.
