The IDF recovered the body of hostage Maya Goren, 56, in a military operation in Gaza on Wednesday.

Goren is from Kibbutz Nir Oz; the community issued a statement saying: "After over nine months, she was brought back home for burial. The family was updated about the operation in the last few hours.

"She will be buried next to her husband Avner Goren, who was murdered on October 7."

Goren worked as a kindergarten teacher and "lovingly cared for the children of the kibbutz for many years," the Kibbutz said.

Goren's husband was murdered on October 7, and the couple left behind four children.

Goldin, who was a member of Kibbutz Nir Yitzhak's emergency standby squad, was killed on October 7 and body held hostage.

"It's a very difficult moment," said D. "Weakness throughout the body. It's as if your blood is permissible. They were in a crazy state of ecstasy, celebrating, laughing with their guns, with their knives. You kind of disconnect from the situation, but on the other hand, you experience it very strongly. It's very hard."

On the morning of October 7, D escaped alone from the terrorists until he was caught. "These were Nukhba terrorists, really pinning you to the floor," he recalled. "You try to resist, and they take off your clothes, laugh at you, humiliate you, spit on you, touch your body parts, and rape you."

D continued to describe the difficult moments: "There's a circle, they're laughing, and you don't know what to do at that moment, whether to resist or let it pass, how to deal with the situation. It was a very brutal rape. At some point, more people arrived and called them, so they had to stop."

This is the first time a survivor of the massacre has openly discussed his sexual assault by terrorists.

IDF soldiers locate a multi-level tunnel

They attacked Hamas targets, eliminated over 150 terrorists who targeted the IDF, and located about 400 different weapons.

Greece strongly condemns the attack on an Israeli visiting the country last week, which left recently discharged IDF soldier Fahad Qubati, 24, with head and facial injuries.

“Competent authorities are conducting a thorough investigation,” says the Greek embassy in Israel. “Acts of violence are unacceptable. All Israelis are welcome in Greece, which is a totally safe tourist destination.”

The attackers reportedly stopped beating Qubati only after they were convinced he was an Arab Christian, and not Jewish.

Israeli Olympians taking part in Paris 2024 have received death threats, hate messages, and vitriol online over the last few days, Israeli and foreign media reported on Saturday.

Walla reported that, over the weekend, Israeli athletes received online messages written in poor Hebrew. Many also received calls from foreign numbers. On Thursday and Friday, 15 athletes and their teams received identical death threats via email, warning them they would be killed if they arrived in France, Walla reported.

The anonymous email said that the sender intended to harm “any Israeli presence at the Olympics” and said that if any Israeli delegates attended, they would be harmed. The email threatened to repeat the action of Munich 1972 and told the athletes to “Prepare for the intifada!"

During the Munich 1972 Olympics, 11 Israelis were murdered by the Palestinian terrorist group Black September. A ceremony, the date and location of which are not yet known, will take place during the Paris Games to commemorate those killed, reported French publication Le Point.

The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) thwarted a terror attack that had been planned by the student Hamas cell in Bir Zeit University, north of Ramallah, the Shin Bet said. The attack was directed by Hamas's base in Turkey.


Contacting Hamas in Turkey: According to the Shin Bet, the head of the cell, Mahmoud Anjas, from the West Bank, recruited activists from Katala, the term designating those partaking in Hamas cells in institutions of higher learning in the West Bank to form a military cell.

Anjas also used his connections with Baraa Romana, a Katala activist for the Abu Dis University, a resident of Ramallah, in order to receive from the Hamas base in Turkey funding to buy weapons for the attack.

During the examination, the Shin Bet added, the entirety of the cell was arrested. An M16 weapon was confiscated along with thousands of dollars, which had been received from Hamas in Turkey.

Former Sephardi chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef called for the government to agree on an immediate hostage release deal on Thursday, saying that doing so falls under the Jewish law of Pikuach Nefesh, which states that saving a human life overrides any other commandment.

Rabbi Yosef made the comments at the President's Residence during an event that took place on Thursday. In addition to calling for a hostage deal, Rabbi Yosef said that it is permissible to release terrorists who committed criminal acts as part of the deal.

"Finish the deal and make it quickly. There is no other choice. Releasing terrorists with blood on their hands is heart-wrenching; we released Yahya Sinwar, and we saw what came of him," Rabbi Yosef said. "But this is a current life-saving imperative [Pikuach Nefesh]. If you don't release them, [Hamas] will kill the hostages now," he explained.

Rabbi Yosef added that while the terrorists released in exchange for the hostages will most likely carry out future attacks, that is not a concern for right now. According to him, the hostages must be saved immediately, and a deal cannot be put off until the future.
