Who has been subpoenaed so far by the Jan. 6 committee?

A pretty impressive list:

On edit: the Committee also sent a letter to Ivanka requesting her testimony "soon".

UNITED NATIONS, Jan 20 (Reuters) - The United Nations General Assembly on Thursday agreed on a definition of denial of the Holocaust, when the Nazis killed 6 million Jews during World War Two, and urged social media companies "to take active measures" to combat antisemitism.

"The General Assembly is sending a strong and unambiguous message against the denial or the distortion of these historical facts," said Germany's U.N. Ambassador Antje Leendertse. "Ignoring historical facts increases the risk that they will be repeated."

The 193-member General Assembly adopted the resolution - drafted by Israel and Germany - without a vote. However, Iran disassociated itself.

Israel says it successfully tests long-range missile defense

Source: AP

Israel said Tuesday it has successfully tested a system designed to intercept ballistic missiles outside the earth’s atmosphere.

The Arrow Weapon System is part of an array of missile defenses Israel has developed in recent years to protect itself in any future conflict with archenemy Iran or regional militant groups, such as the Lebanese Hezbollah or the Palestinian Hamas in the Gaza Strip, both allies of Iran.

-snip-

The system was developed by Israel Aerospace Industries, a state-run defense firm, in cooperation with the U.S. Missile Defense Agency.

“This test was designed to challenge every element of the Arrow Weapon System, and it performed beautifully,” said Vice Adm. Jon Hill, director of the agency. “MDA remains committed to assisting the government of Israel in upgrading its missile defense capability against current and emerging threats.”

I demand an apology!

Too many times I've read posts accusing Garland of doing nothing. Then, the posts accusing Garland of only going after small fish followed, the big fish being someone charged with sedition, with all sorts of insinuations following this accusation. The too often expressed reasons for basing these accusations on nothing were along the lines of "if I am wrong, I will apologize, but if I am right, we are fucked".

Well, a lot of people were wrong (and you know who you are). Ten people were just charged with seditious conspiracy. Time to apologize, folks!

But wait, there is more! I want retribution. A nickel for every time I heard "if I am wrong, I will apologize". Donated to DU.

Israel's national library sees Arabic site traffic boom

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel's national library says the number of visitors to its Arabic website more than doubled last year, driven by a growing collection of digitized materials and an aggressive outreach campaign to the Arab world.

Around 650,000 users, predominantly from the Palestinian territories, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Algeria, visited the National Library of Israel's English and Arabic sites in 2021, said library spokesman Zack Rothbart.

One of the most heavily trafficked resources on the Arabic website is a newspaper archive with more than 200,000 pages of Arabic publications from Ottoman and British Mandate Palestine, said Raquel Ukeles, head of the library’s collections.

“We have been working on outreach to the Arab world, into the Arabic speaking public here in Israel for over a decade, and we have slowly built up a rich set of resources on our websites," she said. They include the digital newspaper archives, manuscripts, posters, electronic books and music, she said. They are open access, allowing scholars and curious web browsers to visit.
