Question for Bernie supporters.

Are there any Bernie supporters here who believe that if Hillary ends up with more elected delegates after the June primaries then she should actually be the nominee, by reasoning that she was chosen by the voters? Or is it more or less a unanimous opinion that the superdelegates should overturn the votes and make Bernie the nominee because of alleged fraud, polls vs Trump, closed primaries, emails, or any other reason.

Bernie rioter's excuse for rioting: there were "too many bars".

Yes, a Bernie delegate actually went on MSNBC and said that. There was not enough food served and too many bars close to the event. That explains the death threats, sexist slurs, and chair throwing. I mean, you're at the Paris, you just gotta taste the appletini at every one of the bars. What, wait until after the event? No way! This, America, is what Bernie has to offer you.

Then she said that, well she didn't actually see any chair throwing. She did see a guy pick up a chair, but someone else stopped him before he could throw it, and they "hugged it out." Aww. What an adorable angry drunken mob.

And after all that, Bernie issues a statement that is a version of Trump's "it's a beautiful thing when people commit violent acts in my name."

Can there be a better representation of everything the Bernie campaign stands for? Some 30% of his delegates to the convention were too lazy to even show up. The ones that were there got themselves hammered. And they blame it not on themselves, but on the fact that there were too many bars. And then in their drunken stupor, they realize that there are more Hillary delegates there than Bernie delegates, and instead of accepting the math, they riot.

Love when Bernie people denigrate Bernie in order to take a shot at Hillary.

You know, like "he's a 74-year old socialist, Hillary should have easily destroyed him." I guess by #bernielogic, portraying Bernie as a hopeless candidate for whom getting his clock cleaned by 280 delegates is some huge accomplishment is going to convince us to support him.

Oh yeah, totally! Let's nominate the guy whose big accomplishment is losing not as badly as his own supporters think he should be! Who's with me?

Possible explanations for what Bernie could be playing at these days?

I used to think I understood the guy. Lately he's been getting crazier though. As I see it, it's one or a combination of:

1) He's enjoying the ego trip
2) He's praying to the email fairy
3) He wants Trump to be president to stick it to the DNC
4) He likes the money
5) He's totally delusional

I don't see any other options.

Huge win for Bernie!

The actual votes in Kentucky are a virtual tie, which means Bernie falls even more hopelessly behind in the delegate race.

BUT!!! If my #berniemath is correct, Bernie has won 3 new conspiracy theories, 12 baseless allegations of voter fraud, and 5000 angry facebook posts.

Hillary can't possibly match that! #whocaresaboutthedelegates

Hardball confirms, there was violence, there were chairs thrown.

Roberta Lange confirmed that chairs were thrown. Jon Ralston said that multiple eyewitnesses confirmed that there were chairs thrown.

Just the fact that instead of being aghast at the death threats and the sexist slurs, the Bernie people are trying to deny the widely reported fact that there was violence says quite a bit. But, yes, there were most definitely chairs thrown at the Nevada convention.

I'm starting to like Roberta Lange more and more.

She stood up to the sexist slurs and violence at the convention, and she's not taking the death threats laying down. She's fighting back, talking about them, exposing these hateful bullies for what they are. Good for her. That is courage.

Reid urges Sanders to condemn violence in Nevada

Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid (Nev.) had a 10-minute conversation with presidential contender Bernie Sanders Tuesday to discuss the violent outbursts by his supporters at the state party convention in Nevada over the weekend.

Reid made sure that Sanders was aware of just how ugly things got — including incidents of chair throwing — and expects his colleague will condemn the violence soon.

“He and I had a very long conversation,” Reid told reporters. “I laid out to him what happened in Las Vegas. I wanted to make sure he understands what went on there, the violence and all the other bad things that have happened there.

“He said that he condemns that. I’m confident he does. I’m confident he’ll be saying something about it soon,” added the Senate leader, who endorsed Hillary Clinton for president after she won the Nevada caucuses in February. “I’m hopeful and very confident that Sen. Sanders will do the right thing.”

Harry Reid seems to think he was able to talk some sense into Bernie. Hopefully he's right, and Sanders will condemn the actions of his delegates, and apologize for that delusional press release he put out.

I think Nevada will mark the end of Bernie Sanders as a potent political force.

Having lost the nomination, already people are wondering what he's thinking as he keeps campaigning futilely against Clinton, apparently oblivious to the fact that there is the specter of Trump hanging over us, and of the importance of making sure Hillary defeats him.

The sexist slurs, death threats, and violence in Nevada have shown the world an ugly side of the Bernie movement, a side that people paying attention on the internet have known about for some time, but hasn't come out in the open this clearly before. Most people supporting Bernie are not the kind of people that issue death threats and call Barbara Boxer a bitch, and will be appalled at this kind of behavior. They won't want to be associated with it, and his support will weaken further.

But what ices it is Bernie's press release about the event, which reads like a parody, totally ignoring the unconscionable behavior of his delegates turned angry mob, and instead repeating his usual talking points before criticizing the Nevada party for not breaking the rules in order to allow supporters of his who weren't registered Democrats to participate. I wonder if Bernie even saw this press release before it went out, it wouldn't surprise me if someone from his campaign gets fired for this soon.

But even if he does fire whoever wrote it, and apologizes and makes a commitment to get his supporters under control, it's gonna be too late. Hillary vs Trump already turned Bernie into a sideshow, but now instead of a fun sideshow, it's a hateful, ugly sideshow.

His hopes of swaying superdelegates to override the Democratic voters are now gone. Superdelegates aren't going to side with an angry mob over the people. And I see his influence as a legislator diminishing too, because his colleagues see what is going on. Too bad, Bernie. Maybe a graceful concession a few weeks ago could have given him a different legacy.
