Nice attack: Cazeneuve denies policewoman 'harassed' over report
Source: BBC
Ms Bertin told the Journal du Dimanche (in French) she had been instructed by an interior ministry official to report the presence of national police units on the seaside Promenade des Anglais at the time of the attack.
"The national police were perhaps there, but I couldn't see them on the video," Ms Bertin said.
She told the Journal du Dimanche she had also been "harassed for an hour" by Mr Cazeneuve on the phone.
The interior ministry says there were 64 members of the national police on the seafront - as per arrangements with Nice city hall.

The most astonishing statement in the Journal du Dimance is not reported by the BBC: Bertin says that the truck appeared at 10:33pm on the promenade and was stopped at 10:34pm by local police.
This is a stark contradiction to every eyewitness account that the attack happened after the fireworks ended, shortly after 11pm.
I'm curious how that will develop.
Here's the original interview with Bertin:

Nice officials reject request to delete truck attack surveillance footage
Source: Guardian
Authorities in Nice have refused a request from French anti-terror police to delete surveillance camera images of last weeks deadly truck attack, amid growing questions over the scale of the police presence at the time.
The city received a letter this week from the SDAT anti-terrorism agency asking for images of the 14 July attack to be destroyed, an official at Nice city hall said on Friday.
The city is filing a legal complaint instead, arguing that the images could constitute evidence in the case, said the official, who is not authorised to be publicly named.
The letter did not provide a reason for the request, the city official said, but Le Figaro newspaper said national police were concerned the images would leak out and be used for jihadi propaganda.

Tony Blair may face impeachment on release of Chilcot report
Source: The Guardian
Salmond, the former Scottish first minister, said there has to be a judicial or political reckoning for Blairs role in the Iraq conflict. He seemed puzzled as to why Jeremy Corbyn thinks he is a war criminal, why people dont like him, he told Sky News.
The reason is 179 British war dead, 150,000 immediate dead from the Iraq conflict, the Middle East in flames, the world faced with an existential crisis on terrorism these are just some of the reasons perhaps he should understand why people dont hold him in the highest regard.
[MPs] believe you cannot have a situation where this country blunders into an illegal war with the appalling consequences and at the end of the day there isnt a reckoning. There has to be a judicial or political reckoning for that.
John McDonnell, the shadow chancellor, did not disagree with the suggestion that he and Corbyn were going to crucify the former leader for being a war criminal.

Interesting Comey quote on the Department of Justice
In May 2007, Comey testified before both the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, and the House Judiciary subcommittee on Commercial and Administrative Law on the U.S. Attorney dismissal scandal. His testimony contradicted that of former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, who said the firings had been due to poor performance on the part of some of the dismissed prosecutors. Comey stressed that the Justice Department had to be perceived as nonpartisan and nonpolitical in order to function:
The Department of Justice, in my view, is run by political appointees of the President. The U.S. attorneys are political appointees of the President. But once they take those jobs and run this institution, it's very important in my view for that institution to be another in American life, thatbecause my people had to stand up before juries of all stripes, talk to sheriffs of all stripes, judges of all stripes. They had to be seen as the good guys, and not as either this administration or that administration.

Loretta Lynch certainly also wants to belong to the "good guys".
French PM opposes transatlantic trade deal as against "EU interests"
Source: Agence France Press
French Prime Minister Manuel Valls on Sunday blasted a planned EU-US trade treaty, saying the ambitious deal was against "EU interests."
"No free trade agreement should be concluded if it does not respect EU interests. Europe should be firm," Valls told members of the governing Socialist Party, adding "France will be vigilant about this."
"I can tell you frankly, there cannot be a transatlantic treaty agreement. This agreement is not on track," Valls said.
