SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Oregon wildlife officials have killed a young black bear that people have been feeding and taking photos with.

The Statesman Journal reports state wildlife biologists determined last week that the 100-pound (45-kilogram) male bear could not be relocated because it had grown accustomed to people.

Wildlife biologists found the bear eating trail mix and other snacks left for him near Henry Hagg Lake west of Portland.

Wildlife biologist Kurt License says the bear was too habituated to people, so it posed a risk to human safety.

Rick Swart of the state Department of Fish and Wildlife says a habituated bear is unlikely to stay away from people if it’s relocated.

Swart says people should never feed wild animals.

Man nabbed for Bronx rape allegedly said she 'deserved it' for 'slavery'

A black parolee arrested for raping and bashing a white woman on the roof of his Bronx apartment building allegedly told a witness that she “deserved” the brutal attack because of slavery, according to court papers. “She was a white girl. She deserved it because us minorities have been through slavery,” Temar Bishop, 23, allegedly said to someone who witnessed the bloodied 20-year-old woman after the assaults, according to a criminal complaint.

“This is what they used to do to us. This is what they did to us during slavery. They used to beat us and whip us.” Temar Bishop, 23, was arrested by authorities on Friday in Virginia on a slew of charges connected to the early morning June 1 assault, which officials have deemed a hate crime, according to authorities.

The 20-year-old met Bishop — who was on parole after serving just over a year behind bars for robbery — around 5 a.m. and joined him on the rooftop of the public housing building on Alexander Avenue near East 137th Street in Mott Haven, police said. Bishop allegedly punched her repeatedly before raping her, then continued his assault — kicking and punching her in the head and body until she fell unconscious, cops said.

He then fled, but returned with the unnamed witness — who saw the woman “laying on the roof landing with blood covering her face” — and then allegedly made the remarks about slavery, court documents say. The woman was treated at an area hospital for several injuries, including a broken nose and broken teeth. She was also “vomiting blood,” the complaint states.

Police sources previously told The Post a Special Victims Division investigator described the attack as “one of the worst he’s ever seen.”

Earlier this week, when the bitcoin price was hovering at around $8,100, the “real 10” volume of the asset was at around $600 million.

The real 10 volume of bitcoin refers to the verifiable volume of the asset based on the methodology presented by Bitwise Asset Management which found that only ten exchanges in the bitcoin market have a real daily volume of over $1 million with the exception of BitMEX.

As of June 16, the real 10 volume of bitcoin remains above $1.1 billion, up nearly two-fold within a seven-day span.

Five teenage boys arrested in connection with attack on lesbian couple in London

Five teenage boys have been arrested in connection with the violent attack and robbery on a lesbian couple riding a London bus.

London police announced Saturday that a 16-year-old boy was the fifth teenager arrested in connection with the beating.

Metropolitan Police said in a press release Friday that four alleged attackers aged between 15 and 18 years old were arrested on suspicion of robbery and aggravated grievous bodily harm.

Ryanair flight attendant Melania Geymonat, 28, and her American girlfriend, Chris, detailed the encounter in a now-viral Facebook post.

Geymonat wrote that a group of men sitting behind them on the top deck of the bus reportedly figured out that the women were a couple and began “describing sexual positions” and tossing coins at the women.

The men then insisted that they kiss. The couple refused and the group allegedly began assaulting them.

Geymonat released a photo showing the couple bloodied. Authorities said they were taken to the hospital for treatment of facial injuries and have since been released.

A phone and a bag were stolen during the assault.

Police Detective Superintendent Andy Cox condemned the "disgusting attack."

“Attacks of this nature on London buses are rare. I would like to reassure those heading out over the weekend that extra uniformed and plain clothes Safer Transport officers will be out on patrol working to keep them safe and prevent crime,” police said in a statement.

17 year old dutch girl, victim of rape, dies by legal euthanasia

A teenager who said she was raped by two men died by legal euthanasia in the Netherlands, it's emerged.

Noa Pothoven made a "sad last post" to social media last week in which she announced she would "die within 10 days".


The 17-year-old detailed her struggles with sexual assault, depression, and anorexia in her award-winning biography "Winning or Learning".

She wrote in her book that she was first assaulted at the age of 11 and raped by two men when she was just 14-years-old, facts she hid from her parents because she was ashamed.

In her last post on Instagram, the young girl wrote that she had stopped eating and drinking and that her suffering was "unbearable."

She wrote that her decision was "final" and that she had not been alive for a while.

"I breathe but no longer live," she wrote.

A patient in the Netherlands may receive physician-assisted suicide if they are "enduring unbearable and unendurable suffering", according to the Dutch life ending clinic the 17-year-old consulted.

Originally the clinic said she was too young, according to Dutch news outlet de Gelderlander's 2018 profile of the teenager.

But legally minors are eligible under certain circumstances.

Pothoven wrote on Instagram last week that after many "conversations and reviews" it had been decided.

In 2017, 6,585 people died of euthanasia in the Netherlands, according to the Dutch Regional Euthanasia Review Committees' most recent report. Pathologists must legally report cases to the review committees.
