Tiger Woods' friend says Tiger will attempt a golf comeback

Tiger Woods may not be done winning golf tourneys just yet ... so says his good buddy and fellow PGA Tour star, Justin Thomas, who claims the golf legend will try for a comeback to the Tour.

Thomas made the revelation on the "No Laying Up" podcast this week ... explaining the vibe he's gotten from Woods now 9 months removed from his horrifying car crash is that the 45-year-old will attempt a pro return.

"I know that he's going to try," said Thomas, who added that he's been visiting with Woods two or three times a week in Florida recently.

Jon Gruden files suit against the NFL and Roger Goodell; says they forced him out of Raiders job

It's not like Gruden's own words on many occasions had ANYTHING to do with it!

Former Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden is suing the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell in the wake of his private emails being leaked amid an investigation into the Washington Football Team.

Gruden's attorney, Adam Hosmer-Henner of McDonald Carano, said in a statement that the lawsuit was filed in the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, Nevada.

"The complaint alleges that the defendants selectively leaked Gruden's private correspondence to the Wall Street Journal and New York Times in order to harm Gruden's reputation and force him out of his job," Hosmer-Henner said. "There is no explanation or justification for why Gruden's emails were the only ones made public out of the 650,000 emails collected in the NFL's investigation of the Washington Football Team or for why the emails were held for months before being released in the middle of the Raiders' season."

Oscar Pistorius up for parole; must meet with slain girlfriend's parents first

South African Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius could be considered for parole, after serving half his sentence for murdering his girlfriend, according to an official and a lawyer.

The athlete shot dead model Reeva Steenkamp in the early hours of Valentine’s Day in 2013 when he fired four times through the door of his bedroom toilet. Pistorius was found guilty of manslaughter in 2014 and sentenced to six years, but the conviction was later upgraded to murder, with a 13-year term.

By July this year, the 34-year-old had served half the term, the minimum period to be considered for parole, according to the Steenkamp family’s lawyer. The correctional services department was due to hold preliminary talks with Steenkamp’s parents, but the meeting was postponed and has yet to be rescheduled.

Before the parole process can begin, the department needs to conduct a dialogue with the victim’s family and the offender.

“There is the issue of victim-offender dialogue that needs to take place before his profile can be taken to the parole board,” prisons spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo told the AFP news agency. “It’s quite a sensitive and emotional process.”
