Amazing 30 days at sea in time-lapse

Incredible scenery and educational too. All in 4K!

So the Chiefs beat the Patriots in the season opener...

What happened there? The Patriots just suffered some lapses that they will undoubtedly correct and go on to have another stellar season, or is it that the Chiefs are a legitimate force to be reckoned with?

An abrupt DACA history lesson!

I need some new expressions!

I use the same expressions here quite often. I know this because when I reply to a post, the "Reply title" has auto-type enabled. When I start typing "Exactly!" or "Agreed!" I see a list appear of the same and similar responses I used previously. It makes me think, "Jeez, do I have a limited vocabulary like Dolt 45?"

How can this be four years old?

And yet I never saw it until today? How did you people keep it from me all this time???

Travelling with relatives/friends

Nope, this isn't a thread to rant about how my wife and I can't stand being on vacation with so-and-so.

This is more about the evolution of our relationship, at least in one regard. We're in our mid-40s now. We've been together for 20 years and have travelled quite extensively. There are still some destinations on our "bucket list" (maybe a little early for that terminology, you know what I mean), but if we're journeying to places where we've been before we have grown fond of taking along relatives or friends who haven't had the opportunity to experience that location before. Sometimes we pick up a portion of their expenses if we know it's a financial stretch for them.

It's not that my wife and I can't stand each other's company (we still share a private room) just that we seem to get an added sense of joy from seeing others' reactions -- or, sometimes, perhaps a bit of disappointment if they aren't as impressed at certain aspects of attractions that wowed us. But, hey, c'est la vie, right?

Anyway, are there others here who are in the same boat, preferring to travel with relatives/friends, at least on occasion?

Astros acquire Justin Verlander

Houston turns it up a notch as they enter the stretch run...

The Detroit Tigers have agreed to trade Justin Verlander to the Houston Astros, a source told ESPN's Buster Olney confirming multiple reports.

In 28 starts this season, Verlander is 10-8 with a 3.82 ERA. Since May 30, Verlander has 3.24 ERA with 118 strikeouts in 111 innings.

Verlander is likely to make his first start for his new team next week, when Astros go back on the road.

Verlander, 34, won Rookie of the Year (2006), Cy Young and MVP awards (both in 2011) with the Tigers.
