Our candidates response to foreign interference

I am wondering if any of our candidates I have spoken about what we need to do to protect the 2020 election.

What should we do? what can we do? what has been done? what will be done?

Are any of them doing anything to protect their individual campaign, their databases etc

I'm just hoping to get a sense of where they are all at on this subject.....who's taking it the most seriously? who's taking actual action....

I work in human resources...

Know what I'm doing today? I'm generating reports for the state for the wages of two executive officers who were just laid off due to our recent acquisition by a private equity firm...

For the purposes of unemployment.....

And as I'm digging into their wages for the last 18 months, I see mr. President Executive and his $1000000 pay out that he received when the company was sold..... And thinking back over last several years and all of the bad decisions he made, all of the cronyism the bullying.... The failed initiatives that cost the company millions...... It almost looks as if he wanted the company to fail so he could get a million-dollar payout.....

And now this guy is filing unemployment..... For real.... Just got a million freaking dollars..... And wants unemployment....

Now let's move on to Misses CFO executive...... Who is challenging whether or not her wages should be reported to the state so that she can get unemployment...... Turns out for 18 months we were not reporting them..... Coincidentally she's the person who made the decision that officers are exempt from unemployment..... Except now that she is facing the consequences of her own decisions she's essentially making us reverse her own decision..... So that she can get unemployment..... And oh yes she also got a very large payout.....

There is just something wrong with our system..... That people can fail so hard.... And yet they get huge amounts of money.....

have all of our candidates released their tax returns?

I think in light of Trump's BS this should be a qualification or disqualification as the case may be

imagine the statement it would make if all of our candidates release their taxes and then look to Trump like what's your problem dude

I'm worried about so many candidates...

in 2016 the R's had 17(?) in their primary - do you think this had an effect on the rise of Trump? do you think he would have been able to compete vs say 3 others?

I'm worried that something similar may happen on our side now - that we will end up with the wrong candidate moving forward because support is spread so thin...and that might be an exploitable weakness for us.....

my assumption and fear also is that if the goal is to bring America to her knees before Putin, then anything they did on the R side will likely be attempted on our side - since it worked so well already.....

i think we should consider that russia may be trying to infiltrate us....to corrupt us....I hope we do not have a corruptible candidate on our side but.....

You want an engineer’s opinion on “The Wall”? Okay then.

1 - the environmental study will take 3 to 5 years to complete, but only if the project is divided into manageable chunks of 1/2 mile to 2 miles in length. That give us about 1,000 different design sections. And if you think that this phase can be skipped, the lawsuits over that decision will take 10 to 20 years to resolve and the court would probably order the environmental study done anyway.

2 - once you have the environmental clearance, the actual design can begin. Don’t think you need to design something as basic as a wall? The first step is to perform soils testing to see what kind of foundation is needed; skip that and your wall has a good chance of falling down or falling over. While, technically, you could probably design a 1/2 mile section of wall in 3 or 4 working days, you also need to account for the approval process and review times. Chances are that the design stage will take a minimum of 18 months.

3 - acquiring the land/ right-of-way will take from 4 to 6 months, *provided* that the landowner is willing and you don't have to go to court. That gives you time to get an estimate, get the estimate reviewed and approved, contact the land-owner, make the offer, accept a counter-offer (if they make one) and get the documents signed and sealed. If the land-owner does NOT want to sell, expect a protracted court fight of 3 to 7 years (longer if the land-owner has lots of money). If you can't get the land, go back to step 1 and start over.

4 - add on another 4 to 6 months to advertise for bids, accept the bids, make certain that the bidding contractor has done all the proper paperwork and insurance (and isn’t just going to run off with the first payment or produce shoddy work) and generally get the project out the door.

5 - building the stupid thing probably takes the least amount of time, but you will still need to allot 2 months for the contractor to mobilize and order the raw materials, plus another 2 to 6 months for construction.

Now multiply that by 1,000 different sections of wall.
